    My favourite album from them, even though I get it may be different from what they've done before. My favourite songs are Follow You, Drown and Doomed (which is amazing in the live version at the Royal Albert Hall).

    Album is making the listener bang his/her head so hard that it is nearly impossible to stop it.
    It really is an amazing album and I think it is the most underrated one in the in the whole discography.

Not as heavy as Sempiternal and not as popier as AMO. Being the most popular record of the band 'til today, and with good reason. Deep lyrics, catchy melodies, and songs that will make you, at least, hum the song.

    Every song on this album is a absolute anthem, very similar to the classic hybrid theory, throne is a exceptional rock song above all else

    That's The Spirit is my favorite album in their discography and their best album in my opinion! I love the theme of the album and the way they express it. Whenever I listen to it I feel relieved. I don't get why people have negative things to say. There is one track that I rarely listen to and that's all. I love their music and I hope they continue to make music!

    5 years later, That's The Spirit is still extremely impacting for me. While I was immediately drawn to Happy Song, Throne, True Friends, I've found myself incredibly engaged with Doomed 5 years later - it was the first track of the album but I felt like I never appreciated it much at the time. This is a seriously-good album that demanded my attention day after day. BMTH are on their way to5 years later, That's The Spirit is still extremely impacting for me.     This album is example of a really cool alt-rock. This is the only album of BMTH that don't have some boring tracks, guys sound really energetically, even with that fact, that they start make more easy and mass oriented music. It is just an album that took band to the next level of popularity. Don't matter, how light they went, they did actually awesome music on TTS.

    I really can't unterstand why this album is hated by BMTH fans. Is actually good, Drown, Throne and Happy Song are pretty nice songs. Ok, they changed sound after Sempiternal but it's not bad album it's just different

    Fantastic album even if it took me a while to get into it. Virtually every track feels like a single and are different from each other. Only even slightly weak track is 'Blasphemy'. Top notch.

    You should probably remove all the 'heavy' genres from the genre tags and calling 'Follow You' the 'top track' will piss a lot of people off lol

    BMTH were on massive expectations after releasing a beast like sempiternal. Drown however, did give a taste of the sound of their future album which would be that's the spirit. BMTH is known to change their sound somewhat with each and every album, this, however, is by far the most they've changed their style. With old sykes more than ever melodic vocals, Lee Malia's massive riffs, and Jordan Fish's production on this album, BMTH has created a rock masterpiece. The songs pretty much speak for themselves and no review can state their brilliance. The only thing that may not be up to the par that I was expecting is complete lack of metal. BMTH wanted this to be a bridge album between metal and more mainstream sounds. They may have achieved incorporating the mainstream sounds but there is a definite lack of that metal punch apart from oil's scream-sing style vocals and distorted chords which leaves a mark on the direction of rock more.… Expand

    Is it the end of BMTH ? I don't think so. Even if they went to a more generic style, melodies are style there. The thing is, it lose the power that Sempiternal had. I don't really know how to explain it. It's a good album nonetheless, can't wait to see what they'll bring us next, but I'm still a bit disappointed. But at the same time I can't stop listening to it. Humpf.

The lyrics are great, the production (made by themselves) is good and even now that his voice is not in a good moment, Oliver does a nice job. All of the songs could be single.     This is the best Bring Me The Horizon album . I think best songs in this album this Happy Song, Doomed, Run, Blasphemy . Doomed is main theme NXT Takeover 2015 . I love it album and I forward next Bring Me The Horizon album because That's a Spirit is awesome album .

    The 11 songs are good, but I found songs like "Throne", "True Friends", "Doomed" and "Follow You are really hyping. It sounds just like the new metal today. This is a good album!

    I only started listening to this group for aboit a few months, but I was really hooked on this album. I did some research on Bring Me The Horizon and apparently, this is said to be a departure from their metalcore roots to a more mature and progressing sound. And I also got the chance to listen to some of their older stuff, and let me tell you: I would rather listen to this album ANDI only started listening to this group for aboit a few months, but I was really hooked on this album.     I will keep this simple. No, this is not BMTH's deathcore (or later, metalcore) sound. It does draw from the many years of experience that they have had playing into set genres, but this is a huge departure from any sound they have cultivated before. There were some hints in their previous album, Sempiternal, but nothing could have prepared the public for this. That's The Spirit isI will keep this simple. There were some hints in their previous album, Sempiternal, but nothing could have prepared the public for this. That's The Spirit is pop/electronica-infused, but very focused, emotional, and raw. Yet it seems to retain phenomenal production value as well. The various tracks vary from hard rock anthems with strong ties to metal, to dancepop-esque tracks meant to convey a message as much as they are meant to inspire. I know, many of you are BMTH fans and will decry their departure from the usual sound, but strictly looking at the album itself and its merits, regardless of who recorded it, That's The Spirit comes off as focused, energetic, brooding yet hopeful, very personal,and most importantly of all, phenomenal. This is the kind of album that would have been 2005's Album of the Year. Today, some may say it sounds somewhat dated, but I feel as if it is just what we need: a rock band willing to make an album on their terms to their standards. The vocals are great, melodies are catchy, the electronic stuff sounds cool... Either way, That's the Spirit has many ups. However, I must say, that some of the songs sound... they're just too pop, too commercial and radio-friendly, too dance music. And I'm OK with mostThis is a very good album.     I didn't jump on the BMTH train until "Sempiternal". I absolutely loved that CD and "That's the Spirit" follows it up nicely. Kind of similar to In This Moment's "Blood" and "Black Widow". They were both going in a slightly new direction and they seem dedicated to follow through now that the money is flowing.

    It's so strange to hear Oli on my car radio. It's a much more mellow and overall less metal album than their previous album, Sand Pit Turtle. However, songs like Drown, Throne and Avalanche shine as the greatest songs in the album as they feature a toned down, but still amazing guitar riffs and Oli's signature gruffy voice. It's a pretty good album, but for Bring me the Horizon to createIt's so strange to hear Oli on my car radio.     Bring Me The Horizon was one of those bands where I wasn't really into it before a certain album. However, after they changed their style I started to enjoy it. I can safely say that I enjoy every song on this album except for Follow You. It is also did take me a bit of time to enjoy Oh No but I soon learned to like it. If you do not have the money to buy all the tracks, I would recommendBring Me The Horizon was one of those bands where I wasn't really into it before a certain album. However, after they changed their style I started to enjoy it. I can safely say that I enjoy every song on this album except for Follow You. It is also did take me a bit of time to enjoy Oh No but I soon learned to like it. If you do not have the money to buy all the tracks, I would recommend True Friends, Happy Song, What You Need, Drown, and Blasphemy. Other than that, see you all later.… Expand

    Bring Me The Horizon has been well-known for surprising listeners and experimenting with new sounds. They have matured and are making Linkin Park step aside to allow That's The Spirit climb the charts. Oli Sykes brings emotion to lyrics, especially in this album.

But unlike the folks giving this negative reviews, I can also handle other types of music. If you're looking for BMTH to sound like they used to, you won't like this. This isn't Metalcore its more "Screamo-Pop" and its fantastic. Taken on its own terms, within their new genre, BMTH have not only produced an excellent record, they are moving Screamo in new directions by bringing it into the mainstream, but without doing the usual Emo-Pop stuff that's been done to for years. See, there's a slight undercurrent throughout all this music where BMTH's heavy roots are breathing just under the surface. In fact, there's some screamo harmonies that are both a little deathcore heavy AND radio-ready beautiful at the same time. The combination of the amazing songs with the terrific production have result in a modern-day classic.… Expand

    For my first BMTH album, I picked a damn good one. I normally don't like metal, but this is such a good blend of smooth beats and hard lyrics that it's almost a perfect album. A great candidate for album of the year, and a great intro to the rest of BMTH's work.

    Energetic, passionate and fueled with some big choruses, "That's the Spirit" hits you like a thunder with it's aggressive attitude, it's relatable lyrics and powerful rhythms.

    Great album, maybe better than Sempiternal. Bring me the Horizon really shows that they can change up their sound and are not afraid of surprising their fanbase. This time at least, it proved to be a great decision as this album is very catchy and no song sound like another. Cool.

    really enjoyed this project. its nice to see them switching things up for once. must have for BMTH fans and i recommend anyone into alternative, electronic rock to check this album out.

    Fantastic record! Been a fan since Count Your Blessings, this album here is the best they've released so far. One of the best albums I've heard this year! Get it now!!
