Excellent production and composition of this new album, One of the best works of Demi Lovato, You have to admit that some songs will hook you, but there are others that just want them to finish because they sound a bit repetitive. But without doubt, this new album does not stun or tire. Congratulations to all the producers, composers and collaborators of the album.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the best Demi Lovato's album so far. I like songs like Hitchhiker, Concentrate, Tell me you love me, Crybaby, they are just perfect. in these songs Demi focuses more on her ability to go with the flow of music and express true feelings each song represents without exaggerating it. Nevertheless, there are a lot of moments where she demonstrates her vocal range. Songs are so melodic you can't help but let them flow into your mind and soul Expand

Definitely an album worth critical acclaim. Demi Lovato showcased great improvement from her previous album and I find the R&B twang laced throughout the album as a trademark that Demi should claim. No excessive vocals while retaining the usual powerful upper-belts Demi is famous for.

This is absolutely Demi's best album thus far. Her voice sounds stellar through every single song. Her best songs here are the title track, "Tell Me You Love Me", "Daddy Issues", "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore", and "Cry Baby." She continues to surprise everyone and this deserves to be at least nominated for a grammy come December.

Demi Lovato’s sixth album in Hollywood records, Tell Me You Love Me, gives that pop rhythm music feeling from the moment you listen to her first song, making it the best contemporary R&B/Pop album yet. A contemporary R&B/Pop album must include strong vocals from the main singer and a combination of pop, rhythm, gospel, and soul music. The lyrics in Tell Me You Love Me have an emotional tone which aid in communicating Lovato’s emotional breakdowns and life experiences.
Primarily, Tell Me You Love Me has managed to display the gospel rhythm with a touch of soul and pop imbedded into Lovato’s lyrics that make up each song. Just by reading the title of the album, one falls in love with it’s gospel-tinge. With songs that take it slow for a bit and hits an emotional high note with her strong vocals.
Demi Lovato has been known for having strong vocals and succeding with her music career since her role in Camp Rock on Disney Channel in 2008. Her beginner role in Camp Rock showed she had a great future ahead of her in the music field, since her music was gaining popularity. Demi Lovato was the most listened artist on both of the Camp Rock albums, fueling her music career.
In her album, Lovato uses the soul, gospel genre in order to convey differential emotional messages in each song. Some of her strong vocals are shown in her most listened to song, Tell Me You Love Me, which was also used to named the album; the song conveys the feelings associated with a meaningful relationship by using strong vocals. Demi Lovato’s soulful lyrics match perfectly with her vocals; since the track contains much deeper R&B vibes and gospel undertones throughout the chorus.
Throughout Lovato’s album, she had no problem hitting high notes since this is a popular thing a singer does in R&B music. One of the songs that caught my eye, Ruin the Friendship, where she talks about risking her friendship to have fun for one night. “Your body’s looking good tonight/ I’m thinking we should cross the line/ let’s ruin the friendship”, this lyric is where we can hear Lovato’s vocals, with a hypnotising melody, kick in. In this song, her high notes makes you have the same feelings she has while singing the song, which makes it a good addition to a contemporary R&B/Pop album.
Overall, Demi Lovato shows that she is a great singer for R&B contemporary because her strong vocals and meaningful song lyrics make her sound angelic. This album marks her as a professional singer and displays the confident side of her life. Different decisions about whether Ariana Grande or Beyoncé has a better voice, it all depends on the person’s point of view. Demi Lovato might not be the best R&B artist, but she is known to have strong vocals making her have the best contemporary R&B/Pop album yet.

Tell Me You Love Me is a nice, fun album, with fun, catchy songs such as 'Daddy Issues' and 'Sorry not Sorry,' but also including heartbreaks like 'Only Forever' and 'Lonely.' However, many of the songs are forgettable and basic. It feels like most of the songs don't have their own meaning, with constant, repeating, messages. Demi's narrative is an allegory to itself, unfolding in the form of a roller coaster. A truly cohesive masterpiece. There isn't a single song that seems misplaced. Demi Lovato really gave us an R&B-Soul infused pop album like she promised. Demi Lovato really gave us an R&B-Soul infused pop album like she promised. Daddy Issues displays and innovative and beautiful production, while she toys with dark subjects in a funny way. Songs like You Don't Do It For Me Anymore and Ruin The Friendship really showcase her amazing lyricism and use of double meanings. Another standout, Cry Baby showcases her amazing vocals, where she blends a sultry, sexy voice with powerhouse, emotive vocals. Along with the amazing production and guitar, this song would easily be Top 3 on anyone's list. She closes out the album with two sonically similar tracks, Concentrate and Hitchhiker, where she slows down the pace of the album and leaves us feeling giddy inside at the end. Expand

The LP gets bogged down in chilled-out trap pop (see the Lil Wayne-assisted "Lonely"). But slow jams like "Concentrate" perfectly balance the downtempo and the energetic.

This is where Tell Me You Love Me improves on Lovato’s previous albums: It gives you enough space to see Demi as something other than a no-holds-barred belter.

The songs aren’t hackwork--they’re catchy and funny and sexy and daring.
