    Nas has created one of the best albums of his career since his debut album Illmatic, Street's Disciple is a work of art. When I first listen to the album, I thought it was alright, but after a couple of listens, I fell in love with the album. I love all the songs from a double disc album from start to finish.     It's not an easy feat to make a great double disc album, but Nas pretty much managed to do just that. He tests himself on some different types of beats and his lyrics are as impressive as always. Even though there are some filler on this album and while it's not on the same level as Tupac's double album "All Eyez on Me" or Biggie's "Life After Death", it's still a strong and enjoyableIt's not an easy feat to make a great double disc album, but Nas pretty much managed to do just that. He tests himself on some different types of beats and his lyrics are as impressive as always. Even though there are some filler on this album and while it's not on the same level as Tupac's double album "All Eyez on Me" or Biggie's "Life After Death", it's still a strong and enjoyable effort by Nas.

    It kinda feels that Nas was too shy to take risks here. Not downplaying his lyricism but overall this one is really boring and I can't even remember a single track that stands out at least.

    There's no doubt about it, Nas is an incredible rapper but for me this project falls a bit short of other greats in his discography. First of all this album just goes on and on and on and after a while I get bored. There are some highs such as bridging the gap, virgo and more, even these tracks are some of my favorite tracks from Nas but there are also many lows on this album.     great lyrics and a great story nas amazes you with the way he uses his words. the music and beats were okay but once again his lyrics were on point. i listened to this album like 4 or 5 times. i enjoyed it every single time

    One of the best double-albums in hip-hop by far. Production is varied and complements the lyrics and vocals. There is great cohesion between tracks and concepts

    This album is definitely under rated. It's a 10!!!! Whoever can say this album is mediocre or unexceptional are just listening wrong.

    Nas still got it. This is very, very good for a double disc, despite the flaws a double disc usually presents, most namely fillers. The first disc was great (except the bonus track, which was a nonsubstantive booty-hop song), but the second disc was mediocre (but there were good songs...such as Street's Disciple, Bridging the Gap, Me & You, and Thief's Theme. Virgo was highly Nas still got it. This is very, very good for a double disc, despite the flaws a double disc usually presents, most namely fillers. The first disc was great (except the bonus track, which was a nonsubstantive booty-hop song), but the second disc was mediocre (but there were good songs...such as Street's Disciple, Bridging the Gap, Me & You, and Thief's Theme. Virgo was highly anticipated, but it disappointed me. I thought Ludacris was far better in the Made You Look remix.) The HOT songs were American Way, These Are Our Heroes, Just A Moment, and Reason on the first disc. His incredible way of coming with lyrics mixed in with politics, fresh beats and maintaining his street cred make this album a good one. If it were me, I would've left off some of the songs on the second disc and make it one disc. But the good tracks display Nas' evolution as an artist.… Expand

    I can't belive that this is supposed to be Nas. I could of thought that this was going to be a sure classic (like Stillmatic, Illmatic, & I Am...). What you get here is a production mess and very short songs. I was able to listen to the first CD with ease but the second... Wow...! I coulnt belive that this was Nas, it was just terrible.     This double CD was perhaps one of the more superior and outwitting albums of its times. The album on a whole was a a huge new type of complexity and goes a lot deeper than his older albums. Me and the chaps love it as it rocks

    awesome for a double cd. Great playback value cos Nas lyrics are the best. The beats at first sound boring but eventually become addictive. The first disc is much better than the second, hence not a perfect score. Easily my Album of the year for 2004!! best songs: too many to say

Plus, he has catered for all his fans, from those that love grimy street tales("Thieves Theme", "Streets Disciple" and "Sekou Story") to inspiring goood living in "Live Now" and "Just a Moment" to mature, yet creative cuts like "Bridging the Gap" and "No one else in To me, this album is as good a double CD as we are going to get. The quality of songs is high both lyrically and musically. Plus, he has catered for all his fans, from those that love grimy street tales("Thieves Theme", "Streets Disciple" and "Sekou Story") to inspiring goood living in "Live Now" and "Just a Moment" to mature, yet creative cuts like "Bridging the Gap" and "No one else in the room." He went a step further by releasing "Coon Picniic", which has force public discourse about how celebrities ought to be.     Nas is by far the best rapper on the planet. He is a well educated and informed man. Despite his success he is a very humble, god fearing man. Growing up I was a big Tupac fan because he was a great leader and was also well educated, informed and a great leader. Both Nas and Tupac tell you how they feel in their music. Even if you know nothing about their lifestyle's, which are not Nas is by far the best rapper on the planet. He is a well educated and informed man. Despite his success he is a very humble, god fearing man. Growing up I was a big Tupac fan because he was a great leader and was also well educated, informed and a great leader. Both Nas and Tupac tell you how they feel in their music. Even if you know nothing about their lifestyle's, which are not perfect by any means, you can learn a lot from both of them about life, and yourself. I am a 32 white male married with two small children, and haven't bought cd's since Tupac died in 1996. Nas is the only exception. Everything else I hear nowadays is commercialized garbage. Sure, they have good beats, but they say nothing. Nas makes me want to listen to the words of the songs, just like Tupac did. Well done Nasir Jones!… Expand

    Not a great album, but pretty good. Definte Bangers like "American Way " will keep it in your disc changer for awhile. But overall I think this album only has like 7 cuts.

    street's disciple although not as lyrically compelling as illmatic, is arguably nas' second best album. Its a toss up between stillmatic( a classic), the lost tapes ( which has all the street credit you could ask for), and of course street's disciple. I'm tired of hearing weak reviews from critics who are disapointed that nas doesn't have 3 or 4 smash hits on street's disciple although not as lyrically compelling as illmatic, is arguably nas' second best album. Its a toss up between stillmatic( a classic), the lost tapes ( which has all the street credit you could ask for), and of course street's disciple. I'm tired of hearing weak reviews from critics who are disapointed that nas doesn't have 3 or 4 smash hits on street's disciple. An album shouldn't be judged by how many singles it has on it, nas puts out the music he does because he's trying to reduce the commercialism of rap, if he wanted to, he could sell out like chingy or 50 or diddy. But because nas is fighting the good fight he will continue to have his reputation as one of the top 5 mc's to ever grace the game.… Expand

    I gave it a 9 because I am a sucker for catchy beats which Street's Disciple doesn't really have but once again Nas goes along his own path and puts the commercial tripe on the back burner. His single "Bridging The Gap" with his father Olu Dara really surprised me in terms of public acceptance and my personal favorite after one listen is "Live Now" with a great cameo from...

One problem I have with this album is that some of the beats don't connect with some of the songs with Nas as an artist (Nas' fans and listeners and critiques throughout the years know what I'm talking about when they hear the two discs) Although he definitely made history and placed another album under his belt, I Double-discs are rough; however, Nas did his thing though. I think if songs like that were cut and beats for some others joints like American Way and Sekou Story, where he rapping 4real and just maken another song, it wouldnt b, or almost been, a classic.… Expand
