    Definitely her best work to date. Besides most tracks sounding outdated or too cliché, Katy completely reached her goal; to make people smile :) This album exhales good, uplifting energy.

    Great piece of music, she’s telling her story, she’s explaining how she made it through the other side. The songs in the album are sorted to represent the phases she rub into. The first with sadness and tears, then how to heal from what hurt you and finally how to celebrate the journey. I’m really thankful (scratch that, I’m grateful) for this album!

    Katy is a pop powerhouse, there is no doubt about that, but this album is the future of “poptimism”. It’s packed with her unique style of hiding deep themes under cryptic “bubblegum “ lyrics. It’s clearly on the other side of the spectrum compared to Witness, but it feels like there is more depth and cohesiveness between lyrics and sound. Miss Perry did it again!

I found it very cohesive with barely any skippable songs and couldn´t desagree more with the critics who are bashing this album back and forth. You can dislike the artist as you want but don´t use this or any excuse like "this isn´t theIt´s one of my favorite albuns of the year and also her career. It is joyfull and i believe is the tipe of record that we need in this difficult times.     It’s truly a great album! Never have I found myself so in tune with Katy, I have not found a song that I have not thoroughly enjoyed, or out of context. Furthermore, in my opinion all of them could be very valid singles. As I listened to it for the first time, I found myself smiling, getting excited and identifying (and finding myself) in the songs ... alone in the car, like an idiotIt’s truly a great album! Never have I found myself so in tune with Katy, I have not found a song that I have not thoroughly enjoyed, or out of context. Furthermore, in my opinion all of them could be very valid singles.     Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    While Perry finds the occasional moment of quality here (Smile and Tucked both feel like the best possible music we could get from Katy Perry in 2020), Smile is an album searching for an identity—and when it fails, it falls back on lazy writing.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
