    I'm so sorry for doing this but Katy has been singing the same song since 2013 ... it's quite boring now.
    I think that she needs to allow herself and her fans to experience some new music genres, I'm sure she can have fun and success.

    Terrible from start to the end. Just bored and sounds like if it never ended the first song. It's sad to see the decay of a pop star but there's no more that Katy could give us.

    I honestly can't believe other fandoms are attacking various very good artists, just because yours isn't doing well, I love Katy Perry but her toxic fandom shows immaturity causing the artist whom I admire to be in these consequences

    This album truly does not live up to the hype and proves there is nothing new in this album unfortunately. Katy can do much better and while this may not be because of her, some of her fans make it difficult to appreciate the music when Katy has expressed true creativeness in her music. The songs didn't seem to flow together and were just a bunch of songs thrown together rather than a collection of work, very disappointing. I can't express this enough, it's such a disappointing album. Katy can do much better, but she's only wasting her talent on an album as mediocre as this one. It's just an awful attempt to try to reinsert herself in the music industry, so much repetitive songs and she tries way too get to the young audience and preach at times too. It's essentially more of the same as always, her album would have been less of a resounding failure if it had the usual collaborations Katy has. Nicki definitely saved Witness and without it, it would have done worse. It's very lousy, I really thought the Katy Perry could have brought us something better, but it’s not what we have here. I'm sorry Katy, but this a no. It's horrible, please get better and come back to the quality music you once provided.… Expand

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
