    Katy perry brought an even greater maturity to this album than she had already presented on her previous album, the witness. Unlike what was presented by critics, Smile's songs are not at all dated and forgettable, they are actually a full plate for those who appreciate good music.

    The lyrics in this album show us a vulnerable side of Katy and tell us about the bad moments that happened during and after her last Witness era, together with it she tells us how she was recovering from those bad moments, all combined with some electric sounds and instrumental

    This album may just be Katy’s most mature and fun album of all. It comprises of catchy songs that just makes you want to dance wherever you are such as Tucked and Teary Eyes and songs that get you in your feels such as Only Love and What Makes a Women.

    Amazing album. Better than I was expecting. It may not be totally coherent but the songs are all good and there’s no skips.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
