    - All the songs sound the same
    - Ring is a stolen song from the french song "Derniere danse"
    - In many songs we can really hear the autotune which is really sad especially when you talk about personnal things
    - The album is like always about Justin Bieber
I feel like she could have done so much better especially after 4 years working on it... it's really sad

"Rare" is the confirmation that Selena's journey has made her grow into a stronger, independent but still sweet and forgiving woman.

“Rare” is an epic and necessary album for those who suffer with self-esteem. A refreshing, empowering and yet, vulnerable pop manifesto, which combines into different genres and experimental sounds for Gomez’s discography until this date. From the post-disco “Dance Again”, to the emotional-dance orientated tracks, such as “Vulnerable” and “People You Know”, to the classic 2000s R&B“Rare” is an epic and necessary album for those who suffer with self-esteem. A refreshing, empowering and yet, vulnerable pop manifesto, which combines into different genres and experimental sounds for Gomez’s discography until this date. From the post-disco “Dance Again”, to the emotional-dance orientated tracks, such as “Vulnerable” and “People You Know”, to the classic 2000s R&B “Crowded Room”, this body of work finally comes together on experimental tracks like “Let Me Get Me”, “Fun”, “Cut You Off” and “A Sweeter Place” – the last one features Kid Cudi. It’s safe to say that Selena Gomez’s “Rare” is a more mature album than her last “Revival” and a more personal inside than the tracks she has been releasing since 2017. Gomez’s shows us that she is coming to place when it comes to music and self-love. A great album, with great lyrical content and an overwhelming, exciting and colorful production. Expand

The most perfect album of Selena Gomez. In it we can see that Selena has put all her soul and feelings to create it. Each song tells us a story, and that's really cool. There are in "Rare" different melodies that show a new side of the singer. An excellent album with amazing productions and compositions.

the album does happen to be the shadow of its past relationships, and problems, she had to leave that behind and be stronger, the sounds seem to be the same in each song, but it has positive messages.

Rare continually teases intriguing forays into leftfield pop, but so many of the album’s experiments come off as just that, without ever crystallizing with memorable hooks.

The record she has delivered to kickstart a new decade is a career defining release, and from a pop star who is firmly back on top of her game.

While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
