I venture to say that this album is one of his best albums produced this year and the best of it. Do not like it, but I have to admit that he did a great job, the songs are so tasty hearing, where clearly you can hear his voice without an album full of effects. Justin Congratulations, great job!

I think it was worth the wait. If you can't see JB's talent even in this work then i can do nothing for you. A consistent album with soul and love with catchy songs, but also rap/rnb songs like No Sense with the magnificent Travis Scott or Trust and others... We can clearly see that the eclecticism of Justin and is passion for music has never been that strong, and it's only the beginning...

I have a feeling these 200 negative reviews giving this album 0 or 1 are either trolls or fans from some other artist that dislike Justin Bieber either One Direction or Selena Gomez, it's almost like they had a deal to rate this album so badly because there's absolutely no way such a good album has such ridiculous reviews!
Not only is this Bieber's highest selling album by far, which scored him 3 #1 singles as well, but people truly liked it,I remember reading previews on Apple Music and Spotify, even older folks loved it!
This album changed a lot of people's opinion on Justin Bieber as an artist, these user reviews are 100% manipulated.
Personally I liked the vibe and the sound, very original sounds and improvisations from Justin and his producers, I want to point out songs like ''No Sese'', ''No Pressure'' and ''Children'' as one of the best songs from Bieber's career, all three could've been hit singles but since he already gave us 3 bangers it's alright. I want to add the song ''Company'' also surprised me as well as the songs ''Hit The Ground'' & ''Been You'' from his Deluxe version which I bought! To this day this is Justin's best work, his voice sounds a lot more mature, especially on his song ''Mark My Words'' he sings with some incredibly improved falsetto, Lyrics are pretty good even though I would appreciate less love songs and break up themed ones but they're still good.
As a 25 year old dude who always gives a chance to younger artists I'm pretty impressed with Purpose, if Justin Bieber can do even better than this, well then, bring it on!

Its a good album. I'm a 21 year old guy who has never actually clicked with JB's tunes in the past AT ALL, and to be honest, this album is really, really great. Justin Bieber is back and the world is freaking out. Should it be, though?
The new album, 'Purpose', preceded by its excellent lead single 'What Do You Mean?', does, indeed, work. Enlisting the help of big names in hip/hop-dance-new wave, the Biebs' new sound suits him very well. He is vulnerable (see 'I'll Show You), vengeful (Ed Sheeran-penned-'Love Yourself'), apologetically honest

He is vulnerable (see 'I'll Show You), vengeful (Ed Sheeran-penned-'Love Yourself'), apologetically honest ('Sorry'), and grateful ('Life is Worth Living'/'Purpose'). Unfortunetaly, tracks like 'Children' and 'No Pressure' sound very generic and don't really work.
All in all, the sound works, the vocals are excellent, and the confidence shines. All of those elements answer the question: YES, 'Purpose' is, indeed, worth the hype.

Bieber in my eyes is still a bit corny. But that doesn't mean I can't like him at all. This album is a great leap in maturity and musicality from his younger albums. He still has lots of time to improve, with lyrics and ideas to talk about. I'm exited for projects he will put out later on in his 20's. He has mad potential.

Mark My Words is the only song here that has actual innovation or inventiveness. The rest of the album is by-the-numbers, although Justin does give songs like Love Yourself or Purpose soul that most of this generation's pop music severely lacks. The production, if nothing new, is nice to the ears too.

Three years after "Believe", Bieber returns with a studio album: The ball of the time, it's "Purpose."

It is undoubtedly the most "personal" album of the singer, showing personality, and the maturing of the artist to a certain extent.

With 18 tracks - which is a lot - Justin sins at various times. Her voice is disgusted in certain dogs. A version of Bieber seeks a redemption with "Mark My Words," but fails miserably, a song and cloying, USA, the synthesizers in the worst possible way, and seems to have no end. Be the best known: With "I'll Show You", "What do you mean?" And "Love Yourself", Justin finally shows quality. They are three hits and they are improving every time.

Already with "Company" and "No Pressure", or disk walks to another road. The first, consistency, and temptation is a great song very balanced. In the second, Big Sean stands out for the quality refrain, and the great participation of the American rapper.

In "The Feeling," Skrillex's finger on the track is good, yields for quite a while, although at some point, but the duo "Bieber-Halsey" is good, they marry and the sound goes against the quality of both.

The duet "Life is Worth Living" and "Where They Are Now" do not let the CD level drop, but it also does not raise the plateau. In the first, a song becomes a great ballad with the touch of the piano, it is delicious if it seems, do not miss anything else. Already in the collaborative track with a double "Jack U" - that was present without disc of the double released in February of 2015 - is a "modern ballad" with a voice of Bieber. It was not news to anyone, and it is dance from beginning to end.

In "Children", Bieber really goes overboard: It abuses and spends of the electronics and for that, it ended up taking some of the quality of the song, becoming practically a gigantic EDM. With "Purpose" (a track), a track in which Justin more attempt to "confess", ends up going unnoticed. It is melodic, sensitive, and end of it, Bieber discurses.

The album Purpose, as well as a work of art by the Canadian singer. Justin has matured for a while, shows creativity, shows creativity and shows that he knows how to innovate when he has to. The album contains minor flaws that seriously hurt, but it's also faithful, clear and conscious. Justin Bieber has been evolving more and more.

With "Purpose" Justin Bieber achieves the purpose of raising a more mature audience and put down once and for all their place in the music. Despite the recent problems that have gotten himself into, and a new album that falls into the cliché of the apology, Bieber shows his artistic side, professional and with great skills as a lyricist. Definitely with "Purpose" Justin Bieber deserves a chance

I never thought I would listen to a whole Justin Bieber album but he seems to be getting more respected so even though the albums cover art is a pretentious bag of bollocks I felt like I should give the actual music a chance. Plus, I had enjoyed a few of the singles that had dropped prior to the album release so I wanted to see if he had anything else to offer me. So did he? Well the short answer is no. So first off, his voice is still whiney as **** and it really grinds down on me over the length of the album. You don't even have to get past track 1 before you hear some high-pitched oo-oo's. It's not even just his voice that annoys me it's the stupid swag present in his delivery- most notably on 'Where Are Ü Now' when he says the title of the song but puts an emphasis on each word. I don't really want to go into the lyrics, they haven't really changed much in any way, but I do want to talk about the production on this thing because it is very inviting. There's a lot of solid electronic beats on here and some very catchy beats as well but as a whole it's just too laid back. It becomes very boring and one dimensional extremely quickly. The features are **** and they were predictably **** (Big Sean, Halsey and Travis Scott who I actually like but one of the biggest reasons for me loving his music is the production he picks and his hooks but all he did on here was a verse which is literally the worst thing you could get him to do.) The singles off the album have catchy beats and choruses but overall it's just a really plain album.

I calculated the readability of each f these and concluded that “Baby” has a readability of ages 7-8, which is strange as it was apparently aimed at girls aged 10-15. But what’s more interesting is that is newer song, “Love Yourself”, which is supposed to be a more mature, deep meaning song, gave us a readability of 6-7! That’s right, the teen heartthrob is still very much a teen, even though Love Yourself was released five years after Biebers debut song when he was only fifteen. His so called growth into adulthood is mis-lead, unfortunately. I’m not saying his songs are of any less quality, but they certainly aren’t more sophisticated. Expand

The album is a "radio friendly" and a only single listen in my opinion. The best tracks on the CD in my opinion are:
1 - The Feeling (ft. Halsey)
    2 - Sorry
    3 - Love Yourself

Purpose is not downright awful. Unlike many pop records, it tries to say something profound, and it mostly works on "Show You" and the title track. There songs have terrible lyrics, boring and/or generic music, and extremely underwhelming guest performances.

"Mean," "Where?" "Children," "Show You," and even "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" have fun, fresh, enjoyable music. The music is fun; not terribly original, but still enjoyable. I really do like Justin's effort at sincerity on the title track; it comes across as honest and heartfelt.

Purpose suffers from a few terrible songs and generally-bad lyrics, but it has some lyrical integrity and plenty of fun music. It is nowhere near close to great, but it's definitely not the worst pop album. It's a 6.5.

The fun lead single "what do you mean ?" is a fun party banger equally as superficial as the next hit "sorry". The latter of which would rule the airwaves for most of the following year. Ed sheeran's "love yourself " is a barbed F U to a self centered lover that could easily be interpreted as a diss to his famous ex Selena Gomez, irrespective of who it's from its a fantastic pop classic. The latter three songs go for and achieve rnb success with the help of in demand features in the form if big sean, travis scott and halsey. Nevertheless the deluxe still has really worthwhile, and perhaps essential songs such as the title track, been you and et used to this.

Smart... I'm sure that this is the right word to describe this album. Harmonic work, satisfactory concept. Appropriate sonority, good vocals. The few negative aspects are: unstable artist's identity and the lyrics aren't mature enough.

Ambitious and with a clear turn to a more adult musical road, "Purpose" is certainly Justin Bieber's best album today but it lacks the catchiness that a pop album should have and many of the songs are extremely forgettable.

Not a very big JB fan but this album was average. Sorry and Love Yourself are some good songs but the album overall did not satisfy me. Believe was much better. Maybe he should have had more relevant features?
Probably a collab with Selena which got leaked? That song was good. Or another collab with Nicki Minaj, maybe Beauty and a Beat 2.0

You can tell, right from the first single, that that was the main inspiration for the album sound, and he stuck with that template for the entire album. Justin, making an album with all the same sound is a recipe for **** albums. Was it possible to make a good album using the Where R U Now template? Definitely (see Madonna: Confessions on the Dancefloor, where every song basically had the same template) but Beiber did a poor job of making an album that sounded cohesive, even when working with tracks that sounded the same. Overall, a zero for album quality/cohesiveness, but I will spare a 4 because a few songs are good. Expand

This was my first Bieber album listened carefully and I'm really disappointed. Most songs are flat, monotonous and just boring. However, 'Sorry', 'What Do You Mean' and 'Company' (which I hope will be released as next single) are quite catchy and they improved my final score for this album. He also captures the sound of pop music in 2015 quite well (or at least his producers do), but at times this also makes the music sound pretty generic. Even some of the better songs, like Sorry, get old really quickly because they're full of the same musical ideas that are constantly being played on the radio. Now, the thing that really bugs me about so many of these songs (or perhaps Bieber in general), is the squeaky-clean persona he tries to put forth. His lyrics are often so incredibly cheesy and ridiculous that they can turn a decent song into a cringeworthy nightmare. Case in point, the spoken word outro of the title track. It's the most incoherent, insipid nonsense I've heard in a while, and the fact that he throws religion into it to make himself seem wholesome or whatever makes it even more annoying. I'm not sure why he's so insistent on acting so goody-goody all the time. It's weird, and not convincing at all. Anyway, this album is overall pretty average, and thankfully there are a few good songs that save it from being completely awful. But it's definitely not enough to win me over as a Belieber.

Forced and pretentious, this is not Justin Bieber music. He has at least 5 writers on each song, and that doesn't justify the tragic, cliché lyrics. Love Yourself needs too much the person who wrote it, Ed Sheeran, and Justin just won't fill that expectation. An album with too many tracks to be cohesive that tries to appeal to a more general public.

I had to force myself to listen to this record. That’s just how boring it was. To be honest I thought this guy was done for in the music business but he came back with ‘Purpose’.

To start of the record he starts by waling out a melody through “nah’s and duns”. Then a mellow trap-like beat plays accompanies him while he sings meaningless and generic lyrics about living a lie called ‘Mark My Words’.

The third song on the record, titled ‘What Do You Mean’ was a big hit before he released this. I honestly don’t mind this one song besides the piano and the clocks. It just doesn’t fit the song at all. The lyrics are crap but what do you expect from JB?

A few more boring song later ‘No Pressure’ comes up which features rapper Big Sean. The lyrics in this song seem to have the same theme as ‘What Do You Mean’ (running out of time, making up your mind). Then Big Sean comes in with his monotone voice. I thought it was interesting that he mentioned Yoko Ono in the song.

A few other electronically processed and computer generated lyrics later comes ‘Where Are Ü Now” which features Skrillex and Diplo. The verse sounds Skrillex-like with JB’s filtered voice. Then the beat drops in normal Skrillex fashion and it’s actually not bad. The melody is pretty good and everything but of course Skrillex made this song and Justin Beiber didn’t. I thought the horn could get kind of anyoing sometimes during my second listen of this song.

The next song is an EDM-like song titled ‘Children’ and he’s talking about making a different. When the beat drops I actually had a smile on my face because it wasn’t bad a all.

Lastly, the final song ‘Purpose’ starts off with a sad piano vibe. Then he starts singing some more generic lyrics. After listening to this record and almost falling asleep (twice) besides the few tolerable tracks on album I think it was just boring and unoriginal.

You can’t hear The Feeling in his voice, which is still one of the most infectiously beautiful in the industry, because as his faith has saved him from his pain, his production team has saved his voice from Justin. It makes for a series of unbeatable mainstream and crossover singles, and a desensitized, unnerving album.
