Who cares about all these critics? Were they expecting a pop album? Or a thank u, next new version? Positions is not pop, so it can't be judged as pop. And if it were a new thank u, next, they would say Ariana always makes the same **** Positions has everything, potential singles, amazing vocals, and it's classic adn exquisite, at the same time it's sexy.

On this album Ariana used her moment and produced something incredible about him. She simply finds herself where she always wanted to be and did a great job with her team. I also brought something incredible and innovative. Congratulations, Ariana.

Grande is stepping away from her original pop roots into r&b. It's a nice trasition from trap infused pop on her previous albums such as "thank u, next", to mixes of 90s r&b, hints of doo-wop style songs, and a couple ballads. She explores more of her range, hitting deeper notes, while using some songs to showcase her whistle tone for almost an entire verse. Although her lyrics may not beGrande is stepping away from her original pop roots into r&b. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The album is extremely cohesive, the sound of Grande's new album is in the same time that calm/nasty R&B and that heavenly ballad that we all love, Ariana is proving that she can change whenever she wants and that she is versatile and can walk through R&B, Pop, Trap, Jazz, and any genre successfully. By the way, this album is a mix of her first "Yours Truly" and her fourth "Sweetener" Expand

Ariana amadureceu tanto com esses últimos álbuns, ver o desenvolvimento dela de sweetener, para thank you, next e positions é marcante. Não é apenas uma discografia, é a história da Ariana sendo escrita com os vocais perfeitos.

Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

Grande laid bare may well be seen as a stopgap in her canon, using taboo to checkmate her past trauma, but it does pull off the rare feat of at least sounding effortless.

With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
