Alternative PressP.O.S. has raised the bar again. [Mar 2009, p.114]
-
From front to back, the album's an acquired taste, and even if it's not the big paradox that an album mixing punk ethics with rap virtuosity might risk becoming, it doesn't have a universal appeal, especially for heads leery of anything that might approach the misnomer of "emo rap."
-
P.O.S. has created something that sounds vibrant and alive, and stretches the narrow limits of the genre.
-
It's a great synthesis, merging verbally dexterous, rapid-fire syllable-spitting and a nimble sense of rhythm with lyrics that are clever, self-reflective, and full of sharp-edged political statements.
-
P.O.S. must have known he had a near-classic on his claws with Never Better.
-
P.O.S. is good. Real good.
