i get that he says controversial things on every album he released, but this time, i think we went too far. manchester attack was a tragedy. 22 died including a young girl age 7. this is so sad and not for entertainment. he did raise 2 million dollars for the victims, but that doesn’t help bringing lives back, and doesn’t mean he could said or mentioned about manchester like this.

More of the same, he continues to make us sick with his meaningless lyrics and without a good story to tell. Singing fast and shade women is not a nice thing to do to get attention these days. Completely forgettable songs.

Beats are alright, overall boring and annoying lyrics other than Darkness. Better than Eminem’s last 2 albums but that’s not saying much

Improvement from last two albums. But definitely did not see any replay value and didn’t excite or intrigue me. Felt like he got “outrapped” by Anderson Paak, and shared several corny bars.

Stale. Em is a pioneer in rap but his style has grown stale, it’s been long played out since recovery

yeah not his worst, but certainly not his best by any means. a lot of the lyrics are just something a teenager could write up

Eminem isn't good. Just because it rhymes doesn't mean it's good fellas. He raps fast to the point where its hard to listen to. The corny bars are there like always. He should've given Juice Wrld a verse on Godzilla because he was the best part of the song. He also proved he could rap when he freestyled over "My Name Is", which is probably why you wanted him on your album in the firstEminem isn't good. The album doesnt stick to its theme. Its long, way too long. Beats are not great, suit the features more than Em himself. Another dull, at times unlistenable album by Em

Honestly just another washed up em album. He still uses the same technical rhyme schemes that sounds bad. He trys so hard to have a good flow but the lyrical content is lacking and he still says offensive and corny lines too often.

This album is plagued by bad beats, robotic monotonous flows and a continuous angry Eminem. Bars are decent at best, and his hooks are straight boring, nothing special here. Eminem should really reconsider his career, at this point he is just ruining it. i miss the old Eminem. But hey, at least the productions good.

An Abomination. It's sad to see how he's ruining his legacy, if it weren't for his fanbase. This brodie was done.

As always, Em's rhyme scheme's and wordplay are on point. However a lot of the songs are killed by his angry bitter vibe that emanates throughout the whole album. He will always have the best numbers, thanks in part to him exploiting tragedies for punchlines, and namedropping 100+ people, and stans willing to defend him no matter what. We all know em is a brilliant attention seeker, but this formula is getting pretty old. He can spit bars like nobodies business, but this just isn't very compelling music. There are a few bright spots, a few songs I really enjoy. But there are far too many skips on this album to consider it a classic. Love the bars, just wish he would switch up the material. Anger and bitterness is not a good vibe. He can do better. Expand

Absolutely terrible album. Whilst I like the MMLP and the SSLP, Eminem has fallen off hard. his reliance on shock has waded off into the minimum of irrelevancy and the maximum of making fun of terrorist attacks. His flows do not match with the terrible beats that accompany the melodies. I swear that these people never understood the consequences of following a person blindly with absolutely no criticisms as seen in 'Stan'. Eminem himself makes fun of people for having no skill, yet his music becomes a washed up pair whenever he does release anything. Expand

Eminem just needs to retire honestly, he’s washed up and boring. Massively overrated and his prime was over a decade ago. It has a few tracks that are well put together but it is way, way, way too long. Most of the time. It seems like Eminem was just doing his thing over bland beats with punchlines that give me PTSD of the revival days. Eminem tries very hard here to maintain the edgy appeal he carried ten years back. A majority of this album as a result of this sounds corny and terribly immature. Stupid references to the Manchester attack, a stupid hook that celebrates killing an abusive step-dad, and annoying lyrics that talk about how he's the best in the game. I'm seeing The Telegraph here giving this album a 10 on 10, and I think that is definite example of how long Eminem's status goes to improve his ratings. All of the tracks achieve very little as far as instrumentation or lyricism goes and Darkness was the only exception that genuinely tried to do something. It's great that Eminem can still rap fast, but it's been almost two decades since he last made a truly resonant album. He makes rap music for people who don't listen to rap and has a hard time saying anything relevant in 2020, using "homages" as an excuse to hide the lack of direction or original ideas. Terrible and difficult listen. Eminem has chosen speed over clever bars and has delivered some very cringy bars and flows that did not fit the beats. The features were decent. Young MA stole the show. Replay value is extremely low.

He clearly cares about his output, but “Music To Be Murdered By” is, unfortunately, another mixed bag of tricks, propped up by lyrical acrobatics and underwhelming production.

If they look hard enough, any artist could find criticism of their work online. That’s sort of the curse of the Information Age. But not everyone overreacts quite as much as Eminem does. But if his fears grow tiring, his lyrical ability can still give you something to admire, even if the album is somewhat uneven.

It is not, strictly speaking, a good record—Eminem hasn’t made one of those in a decade—but it boasts enough technical command and generates just enough arresting ideas to hold your attention.
