It's amazing how these guys can pull off anything and better each time. They deserve more recognition with the works that they've put out. The vocal range, the story and meaning behind these songs, the choreography, it's undeniable even if you aren't a fan that BTS deserve so much more than this. I hope they keep producing bomb music as always. Sending in my well wishes.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The album is not only a compilation of new songs but also some songs of their last release Map of the Soul Persona. These tracks together with the new 15 ones are the perfect combination, not only for story line/message purposes but also to showcase their ability to handle different music genres perfectly. Each solo track is characteristic of each member when it comes to their stories, nonetheless it’s also a change up since the genres and moods of each solo are not the “usual” or what you would normally expect for each member and their solos. When it comes to subunits you can feel the different colors and chemistry of these members singing their stories as pairs, trios or quartets. Ugh is compose by the rappers and they become the group’s front battle line when it comes to hate. The track “Respect” is the follow up of “Ugh” and is two of the three rappers (RM and Suga) That take a moment to point fingers at those who talk behind their backs and pretend to respect them as musicians just because their group is now a successful one. The two rappers repeat how saying that you respect someone has become a too easy of an action that sometimes it has lost its meaning. The singers of the group take songs like “zero o’clock” to comfort fans and talk about those hard moments in life where you are lost and don’t even know why you feel down. It’s the perfect track to talk to fans about their own down moments while trying to relate to the fans feelings. “My time” and “inner child” are introspective songs about a past-present and the two singers feelings about it. “Filter” is a harmonious masterpiece that talks about the different sides Jimin sees of him, sides he thinks others see or want from him and even the sides he desires to show and give to people, specially his fans. All the rappers solos are the perfect ways to start, reach climate and finish the album. The track “friends” showcases perfectly a friendship so strong and deep that you might feel jealous of said friendship.
Moon by the member Jin is just what you would desire of a melody, vocals and comforting lyrics. This solo is one of those that caught fans off guard since Jin is known for his beautiful, soul touching ballads and even if it’s still a calm song, it’s a more upbeat and less dramatic track than what he would normally deliver. Besides that change that shows his growth and willingness to keep on trying new things in music, Jin delivers a vocally amazing performance full of feeling and sincerity. About “louder than bombs”? One word: bop! “We are bulletproof: the eternal” it’s the contrary of what fans expected yet it’s as amazing and full filling of what a great song is suppose to be. Generally these album of full of genres and stories that connect with each other so perfectly even if they are musically so different. An amazing album that reflects who the group is, who they aspire to be and what they consider they are right now, not only in their own eyes but in the eyes of strangers, fans and even haters.

BTS really never disappoints. From the very first track, they left a good impression on me. It's a new style as well and I've always liked the way they experiment with new sounds every time. It isn't exactly a "dark" album, but rather an introspective one, a journey surrounding their art of life. In Shadow : Interlude the lyrics are two sides of the same coin; Suga's shadow talking to himBTS really never disappoints. From the very first track, they left a good impression on me. It's a new style as well and I've always liked the way they experiment with new sounds every time. It isn't exactly a "dark" album, but rather an introspective one, a journey surrounding their art of life. In Shadow : Interlude the lyrics are two sides of the same coin; Suga's shadow talking to him and it's about the fear of losing himself to his shadow as he grows bigger. The closer you are to the light, the bigger your shadow is. But the interesting note is that the "shadow" can be interpreted in various ways for the listener too. It can be your fear, your past, your repressed parts of your identity (which is directly the meaning of Shadow according to psychologist Carl Jung's ideas of Map of the Soul). It could also be the haters or the crazy people out there trying to invade their privacy. Intro: Persona have lyrics connected to Carl Jung's Map of the Soul Persona's psyche and this was repackaged from their previous album called "Map of the Soul: Persona". I commend them for bringing light onto this psychologist's works. Their 15th track called "Friends" was beautiful. It was a song about how the two members V and Jimin became close friends despite their differences, even promising to stay once the cheers die down, and calling each other soulmates. It's adorable and very precious. They are very open to each other and I love that friendship for them. And I love how they always include their fans, the A.R.M.Y., (Adorable Representatives MC for Youth). The 16th track "Moon" was by Jin and he sung it about his love for the fans. Fun fact: his first solo 'Awake' was about struggling to help or love himself, while the second one "Epiphany" was about loving himself, followed by "Tonight" which was a tribute to his beloved pets. In his 4th solo which is "Moon", he sang his love to the fans. The track “Respect” where RM and Suga say that respect is a higher form of love, it was truly a beautiful thought to be put in a song. We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal that sang about how they and their fans persevered through all the struggles and hatred they had to face in the journey of light and dark, how togetherness in such times really are comparable to being 'bulletproof'. They coined their own words and name from the word 'bulletproof', which not many artists can do because they lack stories in their crafts, but BTS can because they always tell genuine stories throughout their discography. There was Inner Child, a reminiscent track in which V wished to assure his younger self that he will be okay because the he of today is okay, also the repitition of the lyrics 'we gon' change' at the end. It felt so magical, warm and comforting. Black Swan where they sang about the fear of losing art, fear of losing passion for art and the denial of slowly losing the thrill we once felt from our crafts, incorporating Martha Graham's words that a dancer dies twice and consider their first death when they stop dancing, equating the loss of reason as their first death which is more painful than physical death itself. The lusciously, dark and elegant tunes in Black Swan entranced me at first listen. The orchestral version which they still haven't released on Spotify is arguably the best and rawest song from BTS in my opinion. There's so much more to talk about but overall these sounds are very rich. The production on each one and everyone song in the album is very impressive and high-quality. I love the meanings behind their songs as always. It's different from other groups out there. Beautiful. 10/10. Perhaps I'm biased but I know even if I wasn't, that this album deserved the ratings. This album had a new and refreshing sound that makes it impossible to stop listening, or to skip any songs. I think they did a really good job on trying out new sounds, similar to their other album Love Yourself: Tear. really good! the whole album is so different from most other grps that recycled the same old concept every comebacks. each songs in the album also have its own tune and meaningful lyrics. pls listen without prejudice. just because the whole album is in korean language, doesn't mean that it sounds the same like most kpop songs out there.

The title track is a freaking masterpiece, the rest of the songs are also jams and you'll definitely find tracks that suit your personal taste. Genius in terms of production quality and even lyrically speaking, as expected from BTS. It's very hard for me to pick a favorite track just because they're so different from each other which again showcases their musical diversity. Expand

Musically it's interesting to see variation in the album. My favorite is still Black swan bc of it's instrumentation but the rest of the album is as beautifu. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is amazing in every way! The genre of the songs and the vibes you get from them are so different that it makes listening to the album in order feel like a wild but comfortable ride. There’s summery songs, there’s softer songs, there’s inspirational songs, there’s trap and there’s intense songs. Each track has a unique feel and flow and have such a beautiful way of making you feel different emotions. The lyrics are beautiful, encouraging the audience to reflect on themselves and accept all sides as your own. They give the audience the strength to keep going at the face of adversity, and also has very sweet lyrics to appreciate and love friendship. The vocals are, of course, amazing, and specifically Jungkook’s smooth and high notes in ON’s bridge truly bring the main single together. Zero O’Clock features the group’s vocal line and they performed this track beautifully, with high notes and low notes at the right places with a smooth, calm yet passionate tune very pleasant to the ear. Louder than bombs has a very deep bass and starts off with amazing, silky vocals from Jungkook and Taehyung, and leaves room for the rap line to shine without even with low, whispery lines. And, of course, UGH! is a very fast-paced track, aggressive and angry, specially with lyrics targeted towards those who hide behind the mask of anonymity and criticizing them for utilizing their anger for the wrong reasons. All 20 songs of this album have deep lyrical meaning and beautiful vocals from both the vocal and rap lines, working together in harmony to make a wonderful album. Please give it a listen and judge for yourself! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The album is a self reflection to their past 7 years beautifully crafted with the sleek production and Carl Jung's concepts of Ego and Shadow. Interlude: Shadow, Black Swan, Louder than bombs, ON talks about their struggles as artists and with their art giving introspective view and solo tracks like "Friends" talking about their friendship throughout the 7 years, "Moon" about relationship between them And BTS army. "Inner child" is about making peace with your younger self which also drives back to Jung's work.. "My time" is albout the group's youngest member who was a trainee since 13 years old and reflects back on himself as artist and as an individual throughout that time. "Filter" is Jimin's different take on himself with a Latin poppish vibe to the song . Ugh! is a powerful rap song directing towards those who throw their unnecessary malicious anger towards others. It rebels against this typical social construct.
Zero'clock means rebirth and is a comforting song to those who are buried in the hustle of life and want to breathe a little. "We are bulletproof: eternal" is a soft ballad with how they have finally come towards making peace with themselves after all these 7 years along with their fans. "Outro Ego"is about combining your ego self with shadow and persona and trusting yourself and accepting all parts of you."Respect" is another powerful rap song criticizing social stereotyoes of "respect"

They put their heart and soul with this album. Each member have their own story and put it into music. The lyrics aren't made just yesterday. It takes a whole year to create thia masterpiece. It has story about them, about their love for the fans and their own story. I love it and i can fell the sincerity of them through this album.

As a whole, the strong but not particularly unruly “7” is less sure-footed than “Love Yourself: Tear,” the group’s last full-length, from 2018, and the first K-pop album to debut atop the Billboard album chart.

Taut and primal, “MOTS: 7” is a kind of self-referential homage. ... Each get solo turns to shine here, their collective work is what stands out.

Persona lacked the natural fluidity and chicness of their best music. Those problems aren’t exactly mitigated here, since most of those songs appear on this album too, but within this new context, they feel like a flashback before the saga continues. Many of the new songs are better about balancing Easter eggs for day-ones with new entry points for more casual listeners.
