In Manic, Halsey explores uncharted territory with deep insights on her life, detailing on her love life, her mind and even harsher topics like motherhood and family life.

It is simply and without a doubt her best album up to date. She is at her most confessional state in this album and it really helps us identify with her, given that we are all people and that she talks about love and loss, feelings and choices to which we can all relate. I hope she continues thriving and evolving, giving us more artistic songs, exactly like the ones of this magnificent album.

Is so beautiful, so intimate, the album is like her emotions, full intense, in less words a materpiece almost like Melodrama by Lorde but no. Hahaha

I totally respect everyone's opinions but this album is just so real and pure that it's kinda safe to say anyone who gave it a less than 5 didn't even understand the concept of the album. Just a suggestion, listen to the album without comparing it with her previous albums.

The album is lyrically and sonically beautiful. Halsey shares a part of herself that she has never shown before, and she does it with great success! Halsey shows versatility and talent in this masterpiece of an album.

"Manic" brings us to Halsey's personal space, the way she guides us through her mind and let us know more about her vision of the world, it's very brave of her to show her feelings and thoughts with this masterpiece

I was a big fan of Halsey’s previous albums, that said, I won’t be listening to this again. I understand this album was not meant to be cohesive and was meant to be music in a manic form... Before the album came out, I was truly hoping for some kind of Kanye-like rise from the ashes and some bops while getting emotionally intimate, but this really fell short for me.

The lyrics were sometimes infantile, sometimes forced. Sometimes fine and forgettable, but not at all something I felt that giddiness in my chest for. It just felt like whining with a side of pettiness, and a minor sprinkling of self awareness as a shield for bad behavior. Very disappointed.

Manic’s ambition cannot be denied - nor can the importance of the message it delivers, nor can Halsey’s great talent, nor can the heart that is put into a work like this. However the album starts and ends on its weakest tracks, leaving the middle a more engaging and impressive pop album and resulting in an overall mixed bag of an experience. But despite its disappointments and missteps, when the album is good it’s very good - the exceptional punk-pop anthem “3AM” which takes us back to the early 2000s; the brilliant lead single “Without Me”; and the dreamy pop-rap of “SUGA’s Interlude.” Other highlights include the sparkling “More” and Alanis Morissette’s emotive guest appearance. Opening your feelings to someone is hard as hell. Now, imagine expressing yourself and explain your emotions and thoughts for an audience of millions of people, which are able to judge and criticize. It is a very smart and mature move for anyone. Thus, Halsey has decided to open her heart to anyone who'll listen; millions of people in her case.

Halsey has made a very enjoyable and relatable album full of deep personal lyrics that can reach out to anyone. Everyone could empathize with the singer and this album; you only have to have the willingness to listen to the chaotic emotional roller-coaster that is Halsey's life. Billie Eilish once said during her teenage years that "everyone I know in the music industry is fuc*ing sad". Thus, Ashley focuses on her most personal life, on bad loving, ex-lovers and how hard it is to deal with fame and loneliness. The singer has been able to write a 16 track album that resumes how she has felt emotionally during the three years, since the release of her previous album. She has been able to talk as Ashley, the most honest version of herself, the true one. I can hear Halsey singing thoughout the album and Ashley screaming in the background, hoping to be heard by the pop star. Manic definitely is a chaotic amalgamation of self-analysis, rage, depression, ecstasy, and growth that sees its creator managing the messiness of fame while trying to stay true to herself.
The message is amazing and so is the music that accompanies it. A perfect mix of traditional pop assorted with the newest trends in the industry: low electronic R&B filled with an acoustic guitar and a little bit of notorious autotune.
In conclusion, combining heartbreak with a journey to self-love, the album feels like entering the mind of a bipolar person: chaotic and relaxed at the same time. It is an album to cry of sadness and of joy. Manic will for sure be remembered as one of the best and most interesting albums to be released in recent memory by a female pop act.

This album is so personal yet so relatable, and that's something very rare to found these days. Halsey putted her heart and soul into it, and it shows. Now, for all the acts in the industry, THIS is how you make an album. Bravo!

loooooved the album. It’s just so pure and unique. Really love halsey as an artist. She’s just amazing. The album is a masterpiece and I really meant it. It’s such a roller coaster of emotions. Really refined the album and her music in general. She’s so talented as a singer and as a writer. We can really really tell she lives what se does and there’s nothing greater than that.

Amazing album! She has become such a wonderful artist. The lyrics, the melodies, the vocals but her attitude as an artist and woman is what sold me. In love!

The real problem is that the best ideas are outvoted by frustrating ones, leaving us with little touches like the short, yelping-like sound in the second verse of More or the distorted vocals that end killing boys. There are some good moments here, but even the best of them can’t help Halsey get out of her own way.

Manic is a rich and often confounding listen, an expansive album filled to the brim with the imagined worlds Halsey’s built for herself in the real one. It’s also sincerely, indefatigably Halsey: She puts her loves and ambitions on wholly earnest display, even if it doesn’t always make for the most consistent listen.
