Taylor can prove once again that her sweet and affectionate side as a singer is fallible and it takes a hollow heart to fill with her whirlwind of emotions that we have seen from the Lover's birth to her tenderest night with him. The album shows unparalleled ability and sound, an album worth capturing the artist's emotions. Expand

Few figures in modern pop music (a musical landscape that, in the last five years, has become less reliant on the type of cult-of-personality stardom Swift represents) provokes such a wide variety of opinions about nearly everything they do in public; her closest analogue to date is Drake, pop’s other diaristic auteur who’s achieved a similar level of domination when it comes to our collective attention span. Similar to Drake, the digital discourse around Swift seemingly shape-shifts on a daily basis — sometimes threatening to obscure that, in the American pop cultural conscious, she’s still pop’s biggest fish in an ocean increasingly made up of smaller swimmers. Lover shows a whole new progression for Taylor both socially and lyrically, finally accepting herself in the midst of the greatest love she's ever known. Every other album was culminating to this.

Her most lyrically pleasing album. The choruses are memorable and the bridges are FIRE. True pop at its finest.

Taylor continues to innovate in her country-pop crossover. To me, 'Lover' is better than '1989'. Definitely one of the best Swift records. The lead single doesn't seem to blend in w/ the whole album. Taylor proves that she is still pure gold without any Max Martin productions.

Swift is able to move on to bigger issues than reputation, her last outing, rather than talking about boy problems and haters. Swift tackles Gender discrimination in The Man, creates an allegory between our political system and high school on “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”, she struggles with her mom’s cancer on a highly emotional “Soon You’ll Get Better”, and she tackles theSwift is able to move on to bigger issues than reputation, her last outing, rather than talking about boy problems and haters. Swift tackles Gender discrimination in The Man, creates an allegory between our political system and high school on “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”, she struggles with her mom’s cancer on a highly emotional “Soon You’ll Get Better”, and she tackles the complexities on songs like completely self-written and self-produced “Daylight”. This album feels like a breath of fresh air in a time of dark pop and trap. Expand

This album concludes the dark era of reputation and started the pink and happy ear of Taylor Swift. This album gives you the ability to fall in love at that moment and just imagine yourself dancing. This album is composed of all positive songs about life and Love and Taylor. This is by far her Best album.
    MUST LISTEN.

Lover by Taylor Swift perfectly encompassed the highs and lows of a relationship. At this point, Taylor has become more matured and understood that a relationship doesn’t have to be perfect; that there would always be possible hardships that she knows they can conquer as long as they stay together.

Lyrics are beautifully written, vulnerable, and relatable. Covers such a wide range of emotions and sounds while still sounding like a complete and cohesive project.

It’s an album that screams out for an editor, but when it hits the right notes, it demonstrates just why Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world.

Ultimately, Lover is overstuffed and meandering, but serves as a positive reprieve from her past struggles in the public eye, and represents an artist at the peak of her creativity, power, and—one hopes—continued romantic bliss.

Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
