    As always, «Lover» is an album Swift made for her fans. But it also feels like a record she made for herself, unburdened by external expectations and her own past. She’s unburdened by love, and that explosive happiness makes itself present across this record. Though uneven, «Lover» is a bright, fun album with great emotional honesty. When it hits the right notes, it demonstrates just whyAs always, «Lover» is an album Swift made for her fans. But it also feels like a record she made for herself, unburdened by external expectations and her own past. She’s unburdened by love, and that explosive happiness makes itself present across this record. Though uneven, «Lover» is a bright, fun album with great emotional honesty. When it hits the right notes, it demonstrates just why Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Nevertheless, It’s probably five bad songs away from being better than «1989». «ME!» still sounds like a musical number taken out of context, just unearned celebratory fanfare without plot or character development, so dead-eyed it’s spooky. But she’s better when she gives herself real space to think, as on «Cornelia Street», a lovely, understated tribute to memory and nostalgia with the power to make one rarefied block of Manhattan feel universal.… Expand

    The only reason why i didn't give it a 10 is because some tracks i used to love aged poorly for me, like "i forgot that you existed", "the man" and "miss americana & the heartbreak prince" I STILL LIKE THEM THOUGH i just have to fight the urge to skip them when they start playing, but i can vibe to them if i force myself to go through the first seconds.

    It's the perfect album to cry, dance, vibe, scream and relax to. You have songs for every mood and you can't be left disappointed.    … Expand

    Her most sonically and vocally mature yet. The lyrics - especially the bridges - are everything, and the production is awesome! My faves are Cruel Summer and Cornelia Street, but I have new ones everyday! I already know that it will have a long shelf life.

    It's one of her most exciting albums. The sound, compositions the fluidity it brings in each box makes it a great show! Being honest in that came the footprint to break over your heart and participation in totally all the details makes it get nice and like a river running. It's the perfect pop, and one of the best of the year!

    Great album. This Taylor album has a lot of mixed emotions. The man is one of the songs as it explains how our society is. The lyrics are awesome and some songs have great instrumental. However, I don't like the pop on some songs and lyrics, "ME!" and "you need to calm down" basically have a not-so special meaning and the beat is too mainstream. Album is a roller coaster of emotions.

    It is a good album that reflects the qualities of Taylor Swift as a writer. The problem with ‘Lover’ is that it is too long, so the sequence in it is lost. It’s elegant but without reaching the sublime, it is certainly not her best attempt so far.

    Lover could be seen as an album with a mixture of heartfelt songs with a few songs shoved in for the sole purpose of comprising an album, and although I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan this is what I first thought, however, I urge you to listen again. Lover is an album that radiates positivity, which is why it has so many upbeat and pop-like beats, which could be seen as generic on the firstLover could be seen as an album with a mixture of heartfelt songs with a few songs shoved in for the sole purpose of comprising an album, and although I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan this is what I first thought, however, I urge you to listen again. Lover is an album that radiates positivity, which is why it has so many upbeat and pop-like beats, which could be seen as generic on the first listen, however, the truth is on the contrary. Taylor should be applauded for her incredible and wizard-like abilities of wordplay and storytelling, each song tells you something meaningful, whether it's gay rights, or empowering women or simply declaring her love in the most poetic way possible, we must not forget that Taylor is a storyteller of the highest ability. When I first listened to the album I thought that it was to "poppy", but the more I listened the more I realized that Lover is her coming out of her cage handcrafted by the men of the music industry (or in other words just called the music industry) and declaring what she has believed for years and most of it is portrayed positively, hence the positive music. Despite this, she isn't afraid to go deep when she talks about her mother's battle with cancer, which is one of the most beautiful tracks on the album, which I think anyone who has been through something like that can relate to word for word. The man, an ode to any woman out there showing that although you may be questioned for how clever you are or how you got to a place of power that if you were a man you would be told, "they'd say id hustled, put in the work, thy wouldn't shake their heads and question how much of this I deserve." The whole song makes you slowly realize just how differently men are treated (if you haven't already realized) and in a way, the song decodes every harmful message that has ever been directed towards you as a woman and translates them into what would have been told to you if you were a man. Lover the title track, a masterpiece, however a song I wasn't a big fan of to start off with. This is a song, like many of Taylors, where you have to listen multiple times to realize the wordsmanship behind it, I believe with many of Taylor's songs, the music is just a vehicle for the most beautiful poem you have ever heard. To refine what I have said, Taylor Swift is saying something important you just have to listen and not judge her off of what the men in the industry have crafted her to be. She is the bard of the music industry.… Expand

    Fantastic! It was her most cohesive body of work and I can say that I'm impressed. It take me a few listen to complete enjoy the album, but suddenly I fell in love. Every song tell's you a story and with her brilliant songwriting you are completely captivated. I love it so much that I buy a physical copy just to play every day in my car hahaha.     one of the most romantic albums she's ever done... it also emphasises taylor's superiority to her fellow pop star's when it comes to her lyricism.

    Don't let the lead singles wrong you!
    This album is incredible with some of her best work such as Lover, Miss Americana & The heartbreak prince and many more. Wrong choice with lead singles but overall EXCELLENT album.

    The incredible highs of this album make up for its lows. Some songs feel unneeded but overall an excellent listen.

    i freakin love this album. Cruel summer is just THAT song. She still manages to make fun songs with lots of herself in lyrics.

    Lover is definitely Taylor’s best pop album and the most Taylor album. One of my all time favourite albums.
