Mar 21, 2019Whatever the mixture employed on each individual track, the listener's appetite for intellectually stimulating indie rock will be satiated as Broken Social Scene have proven their staying power with yet another set of gripping and exciting tunes.

Mar 21, 2019The album can’t help but feel like an appetizer. So, yes, it is too short, but that’s the point. We can be hungry for more, yet still satisfied here. That this is Vol. 1 means there will be a Vol. 2.

Mar 21, 2019Let’s Try the After is a pleasant Andes Creme de Menthe following the feast that was Hug of Thunder, as Broken Social Scene tackle a few of their distinct modes—propulsive and tricky instrumental rock, explosive guitar-hero theatrics, slow-burning balladry—in capable, familiar fashion. That familiarity isn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially if you’re typically into what Broken Social Scene bring to the table.
