I think overall the album was great. What I was most surprised about was that a couple of songs I listened to the first time didn´t really seem that good and didn´t click, but then as I listened again and focused on the message, wordplay etc then I really started to love all of them. One thing I really want to point out tho is that people/fans really disliked the Revival album and said that they wanted Slim Shady back. Then came out Kamikaze which actually IS more like Slim Shady and it gets a lot of bashing again for being too angry, dissing etc. I think this is a bit sad and that Em really tries to put out music that he thinks his fans will like...and they still want something else. I hope the majority of people who listen to this album get how genius it is. Expand

Agressive Eminem is back with "Kamikaze", a 13-song, 46 minute album.

The album is very inconsistent, with a few high points, but overall disappointing again. The skits with Paul Rosenberg are well-implemented as well, a nice change in a time where skits are slowly disappearing.

But besides the highlights there are also some forgettable tracks, which don't add much to the album. If these were to be cut, it would be a 8/10 album. But for now, a 6/10 is a fair rating to me.

Favourite tracks: The Ringer, Greatest, Lucky You, Not Alike
Worst tracks: Venom, Nice Guy, Good Guy

Em kills it on this album, the critics are just butthurt because he shredded their asses on this album, no worries though the fans are standing behind this one.

Kamikaze was a big improvement from revival. The ringer, Greatest, Lucky you, Not alike, Fall, And venom were all great songs on the album. He's returned to his original form years ago.

I consider myself an Eminem fan, and with that said, this was not his best work. Compared to his previous albums, Kamikaze really lacked on both the lyrical and instrumental side. Revival got bad scores and Eminem is back at the game to respond that he is not scared of critics (us) and nobody in the world
The beats are really good but not good as other albums, I thought it would get boring just listening him to always talk about critics and other rapper haters, but it doesn't get any boring when the lyrics and beats are that good!

and yes the Album doesn't have any "Deep" Meaning like REVIVAL and other albums had (even tho Revival had bad scores it did had the meaning in every of the song) imo its okay on this album (this was the first place why Eminem made "Kamikaze" to respond to critics) but I hope it will not STAY like this.

A very fun album, and lyrically speaking, it is one of his best. This album, to me, is like a mixture of "The Eminem Show," and "Marshall Mathers LP," so yeah, it is pretty good. It even has high replayability.

With this surprise release, the best-selling rapper of all time proves just why, after more than two decades, he still remains the best in the game. This album is not that bad when it comes to the music, it has a point, and it's not as poppy as revival (which was abysmal), but this album is basically all diss tracks, not fun.

Is it a perfect album? No. But it is a representation of some of the best MC'n I have ever heard from Eminem. This man needs a fire under his ass to really fuel his core skill set. Makes sense looking back at his career. Always the target, and his albums, the good ones, are a shot back at the criticism. Anyway, Loved it.

Favorite Songs: - The Ringer - Greatest - Lucky You - Not

While the album contains no common theme or overall message, it provides the listener with some very thought provoking literary devices...as does all of Shady's projects. In short, the lyricism wasn't enough to overshadow the "rambling". It's good for what it attempts to accomplish but albums are meant to convey a message, this album is equivalent to a 46 minute diss track. I'd recommend this 100% to an Eminem fan, for others its a good 1-2 time listen. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Kamikaze really is a return to form of old Eminem. A lot of the songs hit hard lyrically and most of his songs in the past are just that, deep hard hitting songs. If you listen carefully to his lyrics and look up the meaning to those lyrics you appreciate how important Em is to the hip-hop scene that has been overly saturated by mumble rap in which he focuses his rage towards. People that say "this album isn't anything special" and "he just raps fast woopdidoo" don't understand true hip-hop and how powerful the words that are spoken are. People like that just want a catchy beat with lyrics that don't mean anything.

Get this album if you want to listen to real hip-hop with meaningful lyrics. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent album from the best white turnips performers. Of course the best composition is Venom. But also Greatest with Humble echoes is other than Kendrick Lamar. And so I didn't expect from Eminem новго an album in 2018.

Em needed to bounce back after Revival and he did just that with Kamikaze. He comes out swinging with bars that remind me of vintage Shady. I've seen people saying that he came off as petty for taking shots at the younger generation but Em is at his best when he's **** on other people. Going forward I'd like to see more emphasis on the musicality but overall I was very pleased.

This is Eminem's best album since The Eminem Show. Some hooks could be done better, but the wordplay on this is out of his world. Plus, he got his lost identity back (since Recovery), what made his albuns since then decay in quality (Recovery, MMLP2, Revival). 8 for the album + 2 for going at mumblerap.

Kamikaze is a showcase of what Eminem is really capable of. The lyrical flow and content that has always made him a standout figure in Hip Hop has returned for this album. The main criticism of this album has been that Em sounds like hes 'wining' instead of firing back. But the 'come and get me attitude' from the old Slim Shady era has returned and overrides any sense of 'wining' that people may focus on.

This album is not the best hip hop album of the year but it is probably the most lyrically impressive, and certainly Eminem's best for a while.

Kamikaze finds Marshall Mathers revelling in his Slim Shady rabid underdog role, fulminating at critics, boggling at Lil Yachty, and sneering at the Migos flow on Not Alike. How riveting all this finger-wagging is probably depends upon your birth date.

Fans clamoring for the old Marshall Mathers should stream the old album or hell, rent it from the library or something. After being faced with nothing to prove as the highest-selling rapper of all-time, Eminem’s found another challenge in perfecting the new style he’s put on display.

As sheer performance, Eminem's vocals remain a thing of wonder, which is why it's so dispiriting to hear him circling the drain, relying on old tricks instead of expanding his worldview. He has the musical skills to mature; he's just refusing to let himself act his age.
