Diamond Heart is a very nice opener and should've been the lead single. Perfect Illusion is great, but overall doesn't speak to the whole album and it should've.

''Joanne'' is career defying album which serves vocals and lyrical content. It's Lady Gaga's first non-pop album with original songs and it's job very well done.

Outstanding album. Lady Gaga proved once again that she is very talented and vocally gifted singer. Joanne is her most down to Earth album and her glory is showing.

Certainly one of the best albums of the year. Gaga's vocals each time gets better. Can't get over this! This certainly deserves a lots of Grammys! Gaga is the most complete artist of our generation!

I am happy to feel like myself again, to run on that green field of grass and to spend the whole day thinking about good memories in the past. This album is the good gold. Between all the "live fast" culture covers social life out there, this album gives me some good reasons to live good again. Gaga and some original materials, why not?

I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. I didn't like her before. When Joanne was released, it changed my perspective towards her and her work. I'm so open minded with her albums now.

Joanne is definitely a jewel and I feel bad for those who doesn't like this album. So raw and wonderful.

As a Lady Gaga fan, I gotta say that it was impossible for me to hate this album. Joanne's uniqueness makes it a very good album. It has some country, rock, jazz and pop vibes. My top tracks are Perfect Illusion, Dancin' In Circles and John Wayne. Not her best work to date, but its a unique experience that I enjoy very much

It is with great pain for me to say that Joanne is not the record that will change me like The Fame Monster or Born This Way. Any shred of the avant-gaga flair is gone. The personal is no longer the performance and the external is no longer the internal (thank you NYT). Perhaps she is going back to Red and Blue while I am going forward on to Vulnicura. Either way even the most avid fansIt is with great pain for me to say that Joanne is not the record that will change me like The Fame Monster or Born This Way. Any shred of the avant-gaga flair is gone. The personal is no longer the performance and the external is no longer the internal (thank you NYT). Perhaps she is going back to Red and Blue while I am going forward on to Vulnicura. Either way even the most avid fans of this record would not disagree she has gone backwards to her pre-gaga sound. The first half plays with some interesting ideas but with these glittering ideas comes awkwardly direct lyrics. In the second half of Joanne country bumpkin Gaga comes out to say, "Hey look what I can do,' and not a single fan was gained on that day (of course only time will tell to prove me right or wrong). Trolling aside Lady Gaga on the bonus tracks decides that pinot grigio is the correct wine to connect with her fellow woman-kind even though riesling is obviously better. There is a intense depression lying underneath the record expressed through Gaga's inability to pronounce the english language. This depression is also reminiscent of my now dead childhood.
The album clumsily starts with the powerfully sung "Diamond" and lazily spoken "Heart". "Diamond Heart" pushes through with some lovely build ups and power choruses. "A-YO" plays with some great guitar playing similar to Wild Beasts with a country flair only to be driven by the viciously mundane Megan Trainor-esque "blow it in your face" and the awfully tacky clappity beat as well as steamy lyrics that leave nothing to the imagination. She left the disco stick in the trash and instead just wants you to get off on her- oh and there’s a mirror on the ceiling? "Joanne" is drenched in painful, hurtful even, honesty as well as some delightful lyrics I wish I could ask Gaga myself in the chorus, “Girl, where do you think you’re going?” "John Wayne” and “Dancing in Circles" are some of the high points of the record but goes full on lyrically country bumpkin Gaga and touch myself Gaga circa “So Happy I Could Die.” While I wasn’t pleased with Perfect Illusion originally it sounds wonderful when listening to it in the context of the album because it’s the only moment that has absolutely no country so far. The next song that actually matters is “Hey Girl” and it is tasty as all hell. Florence and Gaga is an unexpected heaven. My only complaint is the utter abuse of the title; one should not be able to begin the verse and the chorus the exact same way.
Of course it goes with out saying, I am clearly not a country fan- but I do not believe many Lady Gaga fans are. But alas Yoü and I had a subtle twang- so I suppose it wasn’t completley out of the blue. While my review is attempting at some humor I am legitimately disappointed as Lady Gaga was my original musical awakening. There will be no musical awakening ushered on by Joanne. Now, I will proceed to play the banjo, grab a cowboy hat, jump on a horse, and pretend to like this album.

This is what she's all about.
I wish people would realise that this album is just as real and authentic as her past albums. If you want to complain that she's changing, well she is. That's what she is all about. There's a distinct separation in the album. Tracks 1-6 (except Joanne, Track 3) seem to be very pop / rock, where as Tracks 7-11 seem more ballad-like, very soft, but the lyrics seem to become much more meaning, which has always been a strong forte for Lady Gaga. The main strength of this album is the production, which Mark Ronson, Bloodpop seem to have put a lot of effort into. PerfectThere's a distinct separation in the album. Hands down Gaga's best record to date in my personal opinion. Everyone's is different.
With this album, we see a side of Gaga we've never really seen before. Though Joanne still has glam and is here to party, we hear a more genuine, rootsy live instrumentation with soul punching lyrics. With themes of female empowerment, kindness, loss, pain, politics, family, lust, sex, etc; Some songs
Hands down Gaga's best record to date in my personal opinion. Everyone's is different.
With this album, we see a side of Gaga we've never really seen before. Though Joanne still has glam and is here to party, we hear a more genuine, rootsy live instrumentation with soul punching lyrics. With themes of female empowerment, kindness, loss, pain, politics, family, lust, sex, etc; Some songs stronger than others, but still somehow Gaga' strongest.
Gaga cries "Girl, where do you think your going?" over and over as she grieves the loss of a woman whom she never met but still felt extremely connected with n the album's title track. What could be Gaga's most stripped back and unplugged moment yet. It's something of a rarity in the pop world for an album to go as deep as Joanne. But with Gaga, it was sure to come.
In the depth of this album, I sensed strong David Bowie and Elton John influences as well as Gaga's essential Springsteen-esque sound in songs like "Diamond Heart" and "Angel Down." To commemorate this style Gaga sought collaborations from alternative/indie royalty Kevin Parker, Josh Homme, Father John Misty and the divine Florence Welch.; Jazz musician, Brian Newman; As well as the soulful, doo-wop addition of the Gaga's main co-producer, the legendary Mark Ronson. This album to me, was the highlight of 2016. An album that set a new standard in the pop world that artists like Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles followed through with stylistically in 2017.
Joanne is the album I've been waiting for from a pop artist. Deep down though, I knew only Gaga could pull it off in a way that could speak to me. For I'm not one for modern pop music. However, with this album, it feels almost as if you're going through a time machine with all of it's diverse and soulful energy. A time machine you can visit over and over again, loving and more and more with each listen.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This album is such a breath of fresh air. The production is perfect (while ARTPOP was a bit weak on this side) and lyrics are poetry (Angel Down is my personal favorite). Definitely at the top of this year's albums.

It's really her most honest album to date. It's a stripped down image of a superstar but not lyrics-wise. It's a go-to album when you're feeling very lonely as it talks about family, friends, lovers and loved-ones. It could make you cry, laugh and smile. It's such an expirience.

Tan predecible que sea un fracaso, lo único bueno es la colaboración con Florence, lady homenajes quedo totalmente ocapada por ella.

Unfortunately, therein lies the biggest problem with Joanne: for every time that Gaga seemingly breaks free of her shackles and embraces something more “real,” she quickly scuttles back into her comfort zone and hides behind glistening production. This probably isn’t quite the sound of the real Stefani Germanotta, but if you squint hard enough there’s a semblance of a real person in amongst the pop haze.

Joanne is certainly not the all-conquering opus it was intended to be and will prove divisive, but it remains a daring and exciting record, delivered from one of modern pop’s most unique and singular voices.
