    His second full-length studio album, it's a more optimistic and energized experience than the first, cranking up the accessible pop sheen on his utterly soulful, powerhouse anthems.

    The great songs here are stellar. The best are the R&B-leaning tracks: “Your Kind of Crazy” is a beautiful soul swoon that recalls Silk Sonic; “Black & White” (featuring Muni Long) is a sleek slice of Philly Soul; and best of all, his duet with Giveon, “Are You Even Real,” is one of the most sumptuous R&B songs we’ve heard in ages, with a gorgeous, indelible “Are YOU-oo-oo” chorus.

    Part 2 feels more corporate, with its genre-hopping, playlist-pleasing songs and much gusty whimpering about how great his girlfriend is. Still, Funeral, Bad Dreams, Hammer to the Heart and Not Your Man are as good as this brand of pop gets.
