I'm a recent fan of Radiohead, and In Rainbows was the first one I listened, because of all the good critics about it. I can say this is THE best album so far. As I have read before in other coment: Album of The Year. Period.

Every single track is a masterpiece but if you want to appreciate it fully then you have to play the album at least 5 times. Great work Radiohead!

Reckoner, a song at the level of radiohead's best ones like just, creep, there there. The full album it's brilliantly conceived and shows that radiohead are the biggest band in the world nowadays, indeed.

Anybody who says this album deserves less then 8 is insane. It is easily radioheads most emotional and romantic sounding record. The only thing that prevents this from being radioheads best album is the fact that song for song the mood reaches a climax far too soon at bodysnatchers and never builds up to the same intensity again except maybe at the end of all i need. The whole album could have been sequenced track by track much better but overall it is easily one more genius work of art by a band of musicians that look at making music like a artist looks at a painting a picture. Quite a good all round album, they seemed more intent on being interesting rather than good in parts

Loved it at first listen - and more and more with every repeat. I'm tending to agree with people who claim this surpasses OK Computer - and that album I rate as one of my best ever.

Ben W., I'm not a Radiohead fanboy. I don't like OK Computer that much, I didn't get into Radiohead before In Rainbows, but honestly, it is one of the finest albums I have ever listened to not just in the last year, but in my life.

Every song takes hold and sends you on an individually unique journey. Yet the songs also retain a real sense of unity and flow. It's quite unbelievable how they've pulled this off. This album means something different to me every time i hear it. They've equaled Ok Computer and Kid A in my book.

The band seems to have finally folded under the hysterical pressure of the music press and rigid rock fans that can't distinguish quality from familiarity to produce a generic rock album. It's well crafted, masterfull, and boring

This is NEW, in the sense that Radiohead seems to consciously implode, then explodes again renewed. Great album, a graduate of their last.

Frankly, I think that this is self - indulgent crap. I mean, come on people! This CD is nowhere near the greatness of OK Computer, or any of their other Cd's. Of course, all of you fanboys are going to immediately give this CD a ten just because it's Radiohead. Seriously, they could put out a CD of random noises, dull songwriting, and stupid lyrics and you guys would love it. Oh Frankly, I think that this is self - indulgent crap. I mean, come on people! "In Rainbows" is wonderful. I don't think Paul R. gets it or has listened to it enough. Fans of radiohead will be undone! "Videotape" just kills me. This record just woos you to explore it. Must be listened to over a really good sound system or high quality headphones.

This album gives me the goose bumps on the same level as all the tool albums. Ignore the first listening! Thought this album was overrated in the beginning. About the 5th listening i started to love it. The only radiohead album i have besides In Rainbows is OK Computer, which also is a great album. In my opinion, this one is better.

Compare this to Kid A is a crime, this is a boring repetitive album. I'm not a RH fan but this is a bad joke. Anybody here listen to Ok Computer?... Lets face it, Radiohead have too many fans, they don't do the effort anymore. This album is about fans, money and fame, not about music. I give 5 points for the great marketing campaign.

I love Radiohead. I can't say they've ever recorded a "bad" record. This one, however, is awesome. Just when I think they are going in a slower, more trippy musical direction, they change course again with something new.

For all the acclaim, this is an incredibly boring album. Somewhere in their quest to conquer the world of critical acclaim they mistook 'interesting' for 'quality.'

  1. In Rainbows really does present Radiohead at their most full-blooded and confident.
  2. Overall, the material feels more human, more honest, more assured.
  3. Happily, In Rainbows is pretty, pretty good.
