MojoOct 9, 2025One could argue the 68 tracks of live Material and multiple versions of certain songs - five of Heathen opener Sunday, for example - might be overkill. .... The exclusive four-disc Live At Montreux Jazz Festival, recorded on July 18, 2002, has a weak sleeve, but the music is blistering. [Nov 2025, p.100]

Classic Rock MagazineSep 16, 2025The gold for hardcore fans still long-pocketed enough to remain completists 0 a 41-track Re:call segment corraling non-album alternatives, B-sides and soundtrack work. Of course, this is the only element proper Bowie fans truly want. But do they actually need it when it comes irrevocably bolted to eight CDS of stuff they've already got? .... The Rare stuff? All gravy. [Oct 2025, p.84]

Sep 15, 2025These albums aren’t grand artistic statements, nor do they need to be. Nothing’s gonna touch him in these silver years (wah wah wah), and he’s tossing them out there for fun alone. He also sounds like he’s enjoying himself, chatting and joking, on the much-seen Montreux Jazz Festival gig from 2002, preserved here (and featuring a near-complete performance of Low). Montreux isn’t the only extra: Reality Live is also here, as well as Re:Call 6. .... His next two albums were grand artistic statements. [Oct 2025, p.116]
