This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. High Road explores both sides we’ve seen from Kesha thus far, blending her party girl image we saw in the early years of last decade, with the new more vulnerable side of Kesha was saw with 2017’s ‘Rainbow’. Kesha navigates these two personalities well throughout the record, showing she’s not afraid to party on the album's opener, ‘Tonight’, but still singing of her hardships growing up without a father on ‘Father Daughters Dance’. Her collaborators on this album see her crossing genres from the gospel-infused ‘Raising Hell’ featuring Big Freedia, an up and coming bounce artist, to the acoustic ballad ‘Resentment’ featuring rock and country legends Brian Wilson and Sturgill Simpson. The track with the most excitement may be ‘Kinky’, which features Kesha’s alter ego Ke$ha, who dominated the charts in the early 2010s. Finally, the title track ‘High Road’ shows Kesha is not afraid to venture into rap, as she raps about her chart success and pretentiousness. Overall, this new cohesive Kesha will have both fans and radio listeners alike excited to see what is to come. Expand

Kesha is back and is taking the high road. Her fourth record displays raw, emotional energy. It adds party energy and old Ke$ha vibes. A record that is timeless and shines hope and light and positivity for any listener! Welcome back Kesha

One of her best albums, rings right there with Rainbow. She shades her haters perfectly and has major tear jerkers like Cowboy Blues and Father Daughter Dance. Summer is the perfect summer jam and gives me 2013 vibes.

O album é realmente muito bom. Tem uma sonoridade e vocais incríveis. Tem uma proposta de balada junto com algumas musicas de tom mais triste. O equilíbrio perfeito que o pop precisa.

High Road works because of Kesha’s self-assurance and self-possession.
  2. 90
A celebration of lightness, of fun, and of growing, learning, healing, High Road confidently and comfortably reconciles the different sides of Kesha which previously felt separate.
  3. 80
The genre-hopping leads to the odd stumble here and there, but overall the never boring, often excellent High Road finds Kesha returning to the party on her own terms.
