A nice yet unfinished work by Horan. I hope he tries harder next time if he wants to put out something phenomenal.

With Heartbreak Weather Niall Horan has shown incredible growth from his debut album Flicker. On this record he clearly had more confidence to experiment with different sounds, but he also stayed true to who he is as an artist. My favourite thing about the album is how the songs tell a chronological story, instead of being separate. As the title describes, it gives you all the feelings that come with falling in love and then getting your heart broken. Niall once again showed that being the black sheep in a boyband won't matter in the end, it's musical talent that gets you further and will keep him in the industry for the long run! I suggest everyone to go have a listen, especially now that we're all quarantined and looking for something to do!! Expand

The album itself shows a very vulnerable side of Horan, the storyline and everything makes the experience even more enjoyable and interesting.

Niall Horan braves the storm of loss in his sophomore album. He did a great album concept including the artcover, the singles, the music videos, the tracklist reveal, the day by day reveal of some lyrics discovering videos an all social media... He really did a great job with this album, it's more sonically cohesive than whole discographies by other white male artists with guitars. There is no single skip in this album and from the production to lyrics it's incredible, his voice sounds wonderful and basically the whole album is out of this world. He broke the cursed of the second album and he did it better than his first and debut solo album! I really wish and hope him the best because he truly deserves endless success and love and happiness Expand

Niall has outdone himself with an album with so many different styles. Every song sounds so good and it is amazing that he wrote most of the songs himself. I really recommend to give this album a listen even if you've never really liked Niall Horan. It's worth it!

Im really disappointed this time, like other mainstream artists he went down towards the generic pop/synth pop music and lost his originality which i had seen in his last album, there was a charm of folk, folk-rock music which was unique about him and was really good, i guess he wanted a hit so badly that he didnt even thought of experimenting, apart from a couple of tracks others feltIm really disappointed this time, like other mainstream artists he went down towards the generic pop/synth pop music and lost his originality which i had seen in his last album, there was a charm of folk, folk-rock music which was unique about him and was really good, i guess he wanted a hit so badly that he didnt even thought of experimenting, apart from a couple of tracks others felt repetitive boring and the high notes were completely autotuned, bt thats my opinion I guess he would improve next time and show some uniqueness Expand

Heartbreak Weather lacks originality and substance. It is like a One D album only worse, because it is missing the better voices. A mess... There's nothing original, the production is so claustrophobic and it makes it uncomfortable to listen to. Sometimes I didn't even understand what he was singing and the high notes are terrible and heavily autotuned. Definitely not an improvement.

What a disaster. Cheesy, misogynist lyrics that wouldn't have been out of place in a Liam Payne song (Small Talk). He has four of the 1d songwriters so of course it sounds like a 1d album.

Poor production, poorer lyrics and too boring. Also it looks like his vocal ability has started to diminish.

The album is basically: Ed Sheeran meets One Direction. So... it’s bad and really cheesy.

“Heartbreak Weather” has the instant likability and immersive, romantic storytelling of a Taylor Swift album, and a similar consistency - almost every song could be a single. There’s a sense that some tracks are only a “na na na” bridge or a Liam Payne falsetto away from being potential 1D bangers, but that isn’t to suggest anything’s missing here: Horan owns the vocals and pushes himself into some new expressive territory. The whole thing is a pleasant, uplifting surprise that will be a joy to hear live, too. Expand

After all the sentimental rigamarole, it’s tough to come away from Heartbreak Weather feeling any closer to Horan. He spends too much of the record bouncing between sounds and songwriting concepts to feel distinct.

There are hints of experimentation, such as Nice to Meet Ya’s swaggering hybrid of Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian, but it’s the excellent title track’s flirtation with glossy, synth-tinged MOR that suggests where Horan might be headed next. Proof that it’s often the quiet ones you need to keep an eye on.
