Es horrible, todo suena muy mal, la producción es rara en el mal sentido y es más de lo mismo

Billie is no good at delivering an album of almost all ballads, all the songs don't have a single aspect or feeling that catches your attention, with NDA being the only standout for me. No ballads on this album are good, they all are more about Billie herself, therefore making it harder to relate to the songs and feel how she feels about getting older and forgetting to change her number.Billie is no good at delivering an album of almost all ballads, all the songs don't have a single aspect or feeling that catches your attention, with NDA being the only standout for me. Therefore I Am is also a good song, but Happier Than Ever is just slow and depressing at times. I didn't make it out of the album without falling asleep more than twice. Expand

So, this week I got to listen to one of my new favorite albums of all time, as well as one of the worst.

Did Billie Eilish really need to spend the entirety of Happier Than Ever whispering two inches from the microphone? She sounds like someone planted limp, lo-fi, hip-hop beats in the background of an NPR news segment. She may as well be singing over the menu music on the Wii. I get

I get that the album is supposed to convey a sense of ennui, but amongst ennui you can be frustrated with the system that put you there. You can be angry at yourself for letting your passion become a job. You can take joy in the little moments spent with friends who remind you of home. You can feel robbed. You can feel slighted. You can feel lonely. You can have any emotion at all.

Happier Than Ever is so one note and monotone that the deep cuts don't sound any different from the sex jams on this scrubbed, sanitized and overly-polished record. In fact, the type of explosive, white-hot, chemical heat Billie conveys can be replicated by, with a proper lab and chemical safety gear, pouring a ten ounce glass of water into a second ten ounce glass of water.

So plain I don't even have words to express it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for a slowly flowing sad ballad-filled album, but this one is just a yawn-squeezer for me, as well as LDR's most recent one. I understand it is supposed to be personal and is infused with Billie's traumatic experiences from past relationships, I just didn't find any song captivating enough to add to my library. Also on some songs the space between you and Billie's voice is so close it's almost uncomfortable, because of that I assume many people are going to say that Billie couldn't sing, only whisper. The production on some tracks is truly stunning, beautiful and futuristic. But for the most part this album is just subpar. My opinion, you know? Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even if the last segment creates a stunning finale, Happier Than Ever remains a dull and lifeless collection of voice memos with elevator-level instrumentals. The title track, Billie Eilish's best song to date and one of the greatest songs in recent years, is sadly the only thing enjoyable about the follow-up to the devastating When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. As an early Billie fan, personally, I really disappointed when happier than ever is out. You don't even care for lyrics if the song sounds awful that made your ear bleeds

Although I know about Billie since 2016 when she released "Six Feet Under" and love her EP "dont smile at me", I can't seem to like her albums. I don't know why, it just seems uninspired to me and it is a shame. The track that shares the same name as the album is a banger though.

I was really disappointed with this album, majority of these songs are boring and sound extremely similar. Nothing compared to her first album, don't understand what the hype is about this album at all.

Just awful, wannabe Lorde/Lana Del Rey. Very bland, poor song-writing..... Do appreciate the more forward instrumentals in stead of the bland beats but that is just the only positive thing of this album overall....

This is so f…… boring and unentertaining. The only good and interesting song is NDA. As it is Billie Eilish everyone will hype it, but honestly I have no clue why.

She already peaked. This album ain’t it. Instead of doing a complete 180 on her style, girl should’ve stuck with her original roots, what made her unique. She obviously hasn’t found it yet, maybe never will, and all this album proves is that she continues to hang on to her producer brother’s coattails to crank out music. Sonically and artistically, she is not talented on her own.

Es la calificación mayor que le puedo dar, ya que solo hay una canción que me gusta de todo su álbum, es igual que su álbum anterior solo que en otro color y cantando más fuerte en algunas Canciones

So, whilst it may not boast songs that stick with you for months in the way that Eilish’s first does, Happier Than Ever feels like a project that will age more gracefully and, in years to come, it may even come to eclipse that which came before it.

“Your Power” is the slowest-and-lowest moment on “Happier Than Ever,” but as a whole the album is softer, quieter, more languid than Eilish’s trap-inflected debut. ... The dreamy-jazzy mode suits her singing, which has never sounded better than it does throughout “Happier Than Ever.”

Billie Eilish’s second album expands upon everything that worked the last time and pushes it in new directions, a creative muse restless and bold in its ambition. It may not always land, but this is a terrific release that proves Eilish’s staying power, demonstrating she’s more than up to the task of delivering on the promise of her debut.
