    Glutton For Punishment is a highly intelligent, essentially perfect album. I think this is the only time in recent history that I have breached my English restraint, and I just decided to say this is an absolute 10.

    The album does peter out somewhat. “Smugglers” is a languid rockier offering that only picks up in the last cacophonous couple of minutes and the final song, and album title track, “Glutton For Punishment” is a sweeter sounding, ironic take on maybe attracting the barrage of chaos life can bring. But when viewed in its entirety the album feels like a momentous leap.

    Glutton For Punishment—meticulously produced by Dan Carey—is a breath of fresh air that plays like a walk through a haunted woodland, where shadows dance and strange creatures lurk and has potential to be a classic for years to come.
