Such a fun disco party! Any song could be a single and every song is a hit.

A bop after bop after bop; "Future Nostalgia" has everything to make you dance, and even though I didn't really like the last two songs (I think it would've been better if she just left them out), it doesn't change a thing about how magnificent this album is. Dua Lipa manages to consecrate herself as one of the most famous artists with her second studio album, demonstrating that her nostalgic sounds combine perfectly with the futuristic ones. Statics and singles are very well chosen.

Surely a good pop and dance album, but not the masterpiece that everyone says, not at all. Lyrics are boring and productions sometimes are pretty basic. But hey, that's just her second album and she got the potential to become one of the biggest pop star of this decade.

the first half of the album is awesome, Dua suceed with flying colors.
Banger after banger. But the later half of the album is kinda lame.
Modern generic pop, and the last 2 song is bad..

Normal Pop album. Good party music but not particularly innovative or deep. There's a distinct lack of the filler or garbage that one might find on other pop albums, which I guess is why it's getting reviewed so well. I, however, found the album a little disappointing since the high meta/user score led me to believe it would be more interesting. It's just fine.

As I listened the rest of the songs on the album, there are songs that I kinda skipped on the second listenings. I love the 80s style and the disco vibe. But half of the album is not doing it for me. The instrumental is so similar and the lyrics are just chatchy, not that meaningful. She writes hella good songs, but if I start to search for a meaning, there is not so much. Her first album was perfect for me, the second is just half perfect. Expand

Future Nostalgia is a fun, carefree and joyous album. Lipa's artistry is growing and you can definitely tell this is the music she wants to be making. It's a great listen, very consistent and has little to no skips.

Now there are boos but if you are going to make a pop album, do what Gaga and Yonce did and use different sounds that are more appealing. There are a couple of songs that example that thought but again a song like "Levitating" could have been had she have used more depth and a deeper sound (Like at the end of song in the final bridge) it would have made that song way better. She did include visuals and lyrics were good actually. So 7/10 for me. Expand

while i thoroughly enjoyed each track, and dua definitely carries her own through her lyrics while showing her bravado, sass, and wit, it would've been an absolute solid pop album if those last two songs weren't put on this record. they throw the whole entire record off, and leave you feeling confused rather than satisfied.

Dua Lipa's second major release is a disco, party, dance album and (I guess I'm doing one word descriptions of albums now) this one is GROOVY. Drawing influences from the Prince to Gwen Stefani, this thing is full of clean bass riffs, disco flourishes, and some killer hooks. Lipa's voice particularly surprised me whenever she reached into her lower register on this thing.

Where I stopped enjoying this track list quite so much was in the final two songs where, on top of off-putting lyrics, I found the song structures to be mind-numbing. Also, it's nit-picky, but listening back to the title track on this thing, the Squidward-esque "fuuuturre" whispering came off kind of annoying. Otherwise I love that track.

Those gripes aside, I really love the rest of this album, the singles being particular highlights.

Dua Lipa's choice of not inserting any featuring into this record pays off, because she always maintain the control over the attention of who's listening to her. However, the three ending tracks kind of left me unsatisfied: I appreciated Dua Lipa's struggle in not sounding redundant, which is however the reason why Break My Heart andGood in Bed sound quite weak and too familiar with other past pop songs; Boys Will Be Boys, instead, is definitely a good track, but I didn't get why it was put at the end of the record, where I did expect something more adrenaline, in order to leave the listener with a good feeling. La lírica es el punto más fuerte del álbum. El sonido no es nada innovador, pues es una mezcla de pop con sonidos de los 70's-80's. Make no mistake, her risks are still very within the context of a 4/4 pop structure, but she still finds such color and joy in her surroundings it's hard not to get swept up in her energy. Such risk-staking, however, can still lead to a few moments that could've used a bit more polish.
