Sounds like regular H&M music. Pop can’t be predictable as this album was. A good beat does not equate to a good song. Very much 80s inspired and the synth basses are way too repetitive. A few good songs. Overhyped? Yes.

Don't understand the love at all. What does this record do that Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Dedicated' didn't blow out of the water last year? This record is ok, tolerable background stuff, but all pretty generic / one-note. Pop classic? 'Dedicated' trumps it on every level.

Nothing special or different, just because we don’t have many music and good singers at the moment, like in the early 2000’s...

A mediocre album with some not bad done single, the over hyped acclaim make this simple cute dance-pop disco album getting worse.
and the critic review of this album only shows how now-day's music critic being more hilarious and pop-friendly (in negative way).

The hype created for it based in the singles is only somewhat fulfilled. Expand

Come on guys. Won't you be ashamed of yourselves in 5 years, you ever listened to that stuff. It's just a commercial product. You know like commercial entraînement. Ah s h i t , you can't think of anything else. My bad. Sorry for you tho.

repetitive, some tracks are catchy!! it's good but it has filler songs that shouldn't be on the album.

Letras normales

I feel it’s an iffy album, It’s an ok album, the purpose is very overrated. If you are going to make an album, at least six good songs. I love levitating, Pretty please, Future nostalgia, and hallucinate. This is my opinion and I can’t help but dislike some of the songs on this album. But thanks for the effort dua lipa.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite being a happy album and even reminding us of old pop, there was not the expected emotion. I missed some less lively songs, which make us think more about life and not just the nostalgia that those songs bring us. But for the rest, I really liked the album, the songs have a good lyrics and the video clips already released are really good. Dua Lipa reminded us of the past, something we have been asking for a long time. Expand

Just finished it and it was overall really underwhelming. Aside from Pretty please, there's no other song that is memorable for me and it feels like a low effort album that was put together in 2-3 months tops.
The disco aspect is barely there, which is disappointing and the production is nothing to talk about.
I guess it's okay as a one time listen, but there's no repeat value because it

As músicas são bastante esquecíveis e clichês. Destaco a beleza do resgate nostálgico, mas está longe de ser uma obra que exalte a potência de Dua Lipa. Álbum mediano!

Honestly, only the cover and some of the titles of the tracks bear some '80s nostalgia. The rest - the songwriting and production - all sounds very modern (and very bland at that, as expected).
Also, '80s nostalgia would be past nostalgia; in the '00s that was new and fun; in the '10s it was tolerable; now it's long overdue.

A decent-good album, it is very consistent, but isn’t cohesive and follows one theme, it needed to have something a little less disco to make the album stand out as a whole. But this is a great body of work.

It's not as good as everybody says, honestly I felt like I was going to listen the album of the century but I end up really disappointed.
Every song sounds kinda the same (except boys will be boys). But stills a good album not perfect but just good

Album sem graça, com alguns hits, porém nada de espetacular. Medíocre em todos os sentidos e conceito muito forçado. Não é ruim, mas não é bom, mediano.

'Future Nostalgia' is nothing more than the name promises. A collection of, now in demand, disco songs with retro qualities to them. Honestly, people that say this album is brave or trend setting in any way should listen to 'Charli' by Charli XCX...

Dua Lipa really has to drive fast in her admittedly very cool car, because right now shes behind the curve, that really trendsetting

Um álbum com pontos altos como “Hallucinate” “Physical” e “Pretty Please” mas que perde a energia nas demais faixas que não prendem tanta a atenção do ouvinte

An instance where exceeding low expectations has had more impact on the reception of an album than the work itself. Is Future Nostalgia a solid sophomore effort from a BNA winner - an award that carries quite a bit of baggage in recent times? Absolutely. To see it receive an 88 from critics is baffling, however, considering its only hit in the US was largely aided by a strong radio presence and nether followup as been able to resonate. An 88-scored pop album should be able to deliver more than 1 US Top 10 hit, and certainly more than 2 Top 40s. The success of those songs on the US Charts matches my reaction to the music perfectly: an average album with a few highlights > 1 Top 10, 1 Top 40, 1 Top 100. Expand

Make no mistake, her risks are still very within the context of a 4/4 pop structure, but she still finds such color and joy in her surroundings it's hard not to get swept up in her energy. Such risk-staking, however, can still lead to a few moments that could've used a bit more polish.
