    Not quite as malevolent as the title indicates, it's a little more openhearted than Faiyaz's earlier output, but it does contain flashes of the cynical outlook and more of the remorseless (if sensitively delivered) slow jams for which he's known.

    For me personally this album has been a look into indulgence. Just like The Weeknd’s House of Balloons I sense a darker tone in theFor me personally this album has been a look into indulgence. Just like The Weeknd’s House of Balloons I sense a darker tone in the braggadocious lyrics, but more in a macro sense. He seems pretty happy (unlike HOB that is), though in his success/search for success he fights with himself about what’s most important. “Been Away” and “Clouded” are the perfect representations of his mindset in the making of this album. “I have it all for a fantasy” (from Clouded) and “I’ve been away/a way, I’m just tryna get my paper straight” (from Been Away) captures this aforementioned fight with himself. His love for himself and the love for someone else is tearing his priorities. Anyway after this rant, it’s basically just a perfect listen, production wise it’s amazing and his vocal delivery is of course perfect. It could be a song or two longer but to be honest it gives it a “pocket” feel which I personally like… Full Review »
