Harry mixed 70’s vibes, country and R&B, and the result is amazing, he gives you the feeling of being in another decade, it make you feel happy, euphoric, scary and heartbroken. I swear to God you should hear this album. Expand

This is a good album, personally I don't think it is as good as people say it is. Positive: Harry Styles has an amazing voice, that he used in bangers and ballads for his second album. Negative: He should have added more depth to his lyrics, they seemed sort of one dimensional; several songs on this album sounded very similar to each other. Overall analysis: This album is decent, I think he'll be the future of pop, especially among his male pop singer peers. When I look back at his first album to this one I think that he has professed quite a bit as an artist. I'm excited to know what the follow up to Fine Line will be like. Expand

I absolutely despised One Direction as a child and then as a teenager. Therefore, while somewhat dreading listening to this album, I was pleasantly surprised when I did get round to having a listen to Styles’ 2019 album. The album is a nice melange of genres. Harry Styles is the most talented artist. You can see the creativity and time put into each and every song on this album. Him and his team created an amazing album and they deserve all the recognition for this. He is unlike any other artist and you can absolutely see that in his work.

Although experiencing a quality drop in the second half, Fine Line is a very impactful album, and is one of the best pop albums of 2019.

Considering he came from a pop band, he has gone against all stereotypes. He had been brave and created an excellent sound with this album. From ballads to quirky guitar solos. I believe there’s a song for everyone on there. He has come a long way from cringey boy and songs and does not get the recognition it deserves.

Free of the shackles that hobbled his debut, Styles manages to show more of his personality here, especially on the Vampire Weekend-style Sunflower, Vol. 6. It's just a shame he can't quite keep up with his ambition. [Feb 2020, p.110]

Fine Line is entirely inoffensive, but it’s also open-ended, and maybe those questions are the reward. Maybe Harry Styles just wants to keep us guessing.

Fine Line proves that the musician has absorbed the best lesson passed down by California’s great musicians: Don’t be afraid to take chances within a folk- or pop-rock framework, as that’s how you create iconoclastic music that endures.
