    I was really impressed by Jimin's singing technique in Set Me free pt.2. His voice is so sexy and charming. And for this album, it's made up of events. which he met and passed what a beautiful album.

    Face is a spectacular album. As he explained it shows the painful journey he went through during the pandemic, each song showcases a state of mind, and each of them does it impeccably. The melodies are stunning, and the unique tone of his voice is the cherry on top that makes this album a masterpiece. I'd like to add that I was    I want to congratulate Jimin from the bottom of my heart.

    jimin's voice is very captivating and it feels so good to listen to his voice in six tracks consecutively since we haven't heard to it THAT much before and the curiosity about his voice keeps rising with FACE.

    Un disco muy emocional, Jimin nos hace sentir todo lo que sintió y pensó en esa época de su vida. Nos transmite el miedo, ansiedad, pero también la esperanza y que el amor lo puede con todo. Todos tenemos 2 caras y el nos enseña a qué es bueno conocerlas y aceptarlas. Me siento tan viva con todas sus canciones y me encantan todas. El mejor álbum de este año.

    This album was a first step as a solo artist for Jimin outside of the mega successful group BTS. Jimin chose to write about deeply personal feelings and experiences during the pandemic and proceeds to tell the story in the order of the track list. First, anger (face off), then denial (like crazy), then sadness/acceptance (alone), and finally overcoming it and breaking oneself free (set meThis album was a first step as a solo artist for Jimin outside of the mega successful group BTS. First, anger (face off), then denial (like crazy), then sadness/acceptance (alone), and finally overcoming it and breaking oneself free (set me free). This is just an EP, but Jimin filled the entire EP with a different genre in each track, and he carried each genre exceptionally well with his unique tone. Kicking off rather too short promotional activities with Set me Free pt 2 as a pre release was a genius move. Set me free pt 2 is not just a song, but a theatrical anthem that leaves you breathless as it immediately fully immerses you in the performance. Jimin who is a main dancer in BTS along with JHope just knows how to put on a performance as an exceptional dancer. It created such hype and buzz that it built up an enormous amount of anticipation for the title track, and Like Crazy in its synth pop genre did just the job, satisfying the anticipation. This EP was an experience for me that I will never forget. I'm very excited to see the further development of a super star artist Jimin, as a solo artist.     Nothing much to say about Jimin's solo debut album, you only have to start listening to it. He exceeded my expectations on how to blew up a solo debut. He gave us something he has never done before on his solo projects as a bts member. He made this album as catharsis for what we felt 2 yrs. ago and I felt those emotions on this album. I was expecting more tracks tho i didn't expect to onlyNothing much to say about Jimin's solo debut album, you only have to start listening to it. He exceeded my expectations on how to blew up a solo debut. He gave us something he has never done before on his solo projects as a bts member.     The way I interpreted the album, based on the lyrics, imagery and what Jimin himself has said; this was an album that touches upon his depression throughout the pandemic as well and his identity. Except for the hidden track (which reads exactly like a love letter), I interpreted the album as him questioning who he is. Rather than alcohol (although it can be part of it, but I found it tooThe way I interpreted the album, based on the lyrics, imagery and what Jimin himself has said; this was an album that touches upon his depression throughout the pandemic as well and his identity. Rather than alcohol (although it can be part of it, but I found it too on the nose for Jimin), it feels like he used to get drunk on the fame and his work, and not that he was without it he was questioning who he was without it. SMF touches upon how the expectations from outside sources made him suppress a lot of who he was but no longer.

    Like Crazy is very, very queer coded to me, which is not something new for Jimin by the way. The way the woman (both in the MV and the choreo) mirrors him, it feels like a fight between femininity and masculinity, with him embracing both in the end. That, along with the inclusion of Mapplethorpe (which he has referenced before in his photopholio) and a hinted at WLW couple, made me relate a lot. As a queer person, the shot of Jimin standing above a video of people kissing striked me as an image with such loneliness, feeling as if love is unattainable for you, not seeing yourself in any of the images of love out there, being alienated of everything people make love to be...

    When I think about this being Jimin's debut album as a solo artist, I'm speechless. I reckon a majority of people expected his album to be sweet, filled with ballads, and not raw, aggressive, and bittersweet slice of life piece. Every song is a unique experimental masterpiece and seeing Jimin's name all over the credits for writing and composing makes my chest swell with pride.

    This is the first album in many years that I listen to and enjoy every song in every detail, the music, the vocals, the rap, the choir. Jimin is a wonderful hardworking and very talented person and it feels like he put his feelings into this album and you can listen to it like reading a book that you can't put down and can't wait to reread.     Park Jimin has never disappointed us with his songs. Every song he has given us is so versatile and comforting. His first solo album Face is a hit! Face Off is bop, Set Me Free Pt2 my god no one even imagined he would release a song in that genre. He nailed it. And the Like Crazy is amazing song it gives The Weeknd vibes.

    FACE is a verb here. This reflects how Jimin faced his emotions when he was down. It's a story of becoming free from it. His voice is unique and soft, just like his personality. Like Crazy is definitely a pop 80's vibe and I love it.
    Beware: Jobless fans of other kpop groups went out of their way just to add negative and troll on reviews of this album.

My only criticism of this song would be that the English lyrics in the verses are somewhat weak, but other lyrics (both English and Korean) on the album easily make up for that. For those who can't get into Set Me Free pt.2 (which is still fair!), the title track Like Crazy is a hit from the very get-go: an addicting synth-pop club banger with the potential to be stuck in your head for weeks. I could even listen to the instrumental on its own and not be bored. Jimin sounds like pure honey, though, and possibly even more so in parts of the English version, which—to my surprise—I loved just as much as the original.

    Face-off and Alone are incredibly solid B-sides. Alone in particular was an instant favorite, it's such a gorgeous and evocative song. Going by the order of credits, it's also the song Jimin was most involved in, which is incredibly promising for his future solo ventures. Both songs highlight Jimin's impressive vocals that he can seemingly match to any style and, as promised, show something new and raw and soulful from the singer. I was surprised to hear the shallow criticism of Face-off's intro when it so uniquely sets the self-deprecating tone of the song and transitions really well into those opening bars. As one last comment, the interlude does a good job of bridging Face-off and Like Crazy and of establishing Face as a true concept album, one that the singer clearly thought through in every regard. It's been quite possibly my favorite debut from a K-pop artist and I'm more than excited to see where Jimin goes next in his career.    … Expand

    Best album of the year in my book! It had everything from high quality production dabbling in a number of genres to aggressive rap vocals and heartbreakingly beautiful delicate falsetto. Jimin really explored his vocal range while talking about some very relatable topics for the average person. I recommend it to anyone willing to listen without preconceived notions!

Like Crazy tells you about how Jimin wants to escape from reality by drinking, partying, but then in Alone (starts with an alarm which shows morning has come) he gets to realize once again how lonely he feels.

    Set Me Free Pt.2 is such a banger! Don't know why people were so upset about this song when everything's well put (this is one of my fav tracks in this EP) conveying about how Jimin wants to be set free from his internal struggle/mind. Then the album is sweetly finished with a Letter for fans.

    Overall, this EP is fantastic and might be the best (if not) BTS solo release ever in my opinion.    … Expand

    Jimin's first solo album FACE was the most anticipated album for me, i expect high quality songs and that's exactly what i got and even more so. It is such a pleasure to be able to listen to jimin's creativity and storytelling. The lyricism that tells a personal story that does resonate with me a lot. He exceeded my expectations and dropped a jaw dropping grand album. 10/10.

Im new to Jimin's sound so the reason I got to listen to the whole album is because of too many people from different fandoms in kpop hating him and posting hate comments online. I give it a listen to see if what they are saying is true but the 5 tracks are all good to me never skip any. Even the Interlude. Like crazy is a synth pop vibe and its suit Jimin's voice so much. Love face off as well its like different feel but jimin's is so versatile of different style. I dont understand the hate though. I wish for Jimin to soar high more and thanks to the haters I got to know Jimin's and bts works and their music more. Bravo!!!… Expand

    I really like the album. It has a story to go through and I can chime with the feeling of the album. I cried and laughed and cried again. It has all the feelings and I really really felt so connected with the music. The music in the album just came into my body.

    While it’s a short EP, it doesn’t disappoint. If anything, he presents himself as a soloist with an unexpected sound for his high-pitched countertenor voice and very far from those earlier ballads we have heard from him.

    Its six tracks wrap all too quickly, and while it was specified that Jimin doesn’t consider this a full-length project, it does leave the listener craving more music in this vein somewhere down the road — it’s worth repeating that the energy of “Face-off” is one that he should consider chasing most of all.
