Classic Rock MagazineDec 5, 2025Eric's new version brings a new lo-fi energy and the maturity of a dark ray Davies. .... This is truly a great album. [Dec 2025, p.76]

Dec 5, 2025Wreckless Eric has rescued a handful of first-rate songs from their initial second-rate presentation, and his belief in this material pays handsome dividends here, ranking with his best work of the 21st century.

MojoDec 5, 2025A clearer-headed Goulden has given eight of those under-loved songs the garage verité treatment they needed all along for England Screaming. [Dec 2025, p.82]

Dec 19, 2025The songs on England Screaming sound very much in line with Wreckless Eric’s recent output, brash and tuneful, the words barked out in the artist’s clanging, faintly tremulous tenor, the choruses exploding in swaggering hooks. And they are very good songs, not a real dud in the bunch, and a couple that rank with the artist’s very best.

UncutDec 5, 2025The way Eric evokes the "shabby shires" brings to mind Ray Davies, while "Land Of The Faint At Heart" swings with the bruised energy of Springsteen (if the Boss had been raised on suburban terror and garden gnomes). [Jan 2026, p.36]
