    one of the greastest and best produced albums of all time,
    carti is genuinely a revolutionary when it comes to the trap rap genre and that is why this album is considered his magnum opus, this album is incredibly well produced and the majority of the songs are absolute bangers.

    GOAT album of mumble rap, packaged with bangers like R,I.P or Foreign, with some misses like poke it out but still manages to be pretty consistent,in the production side this album its outstanding and if you are looking for memorable lyrics, you might found some,but not specially because they are good,and that is not bad and it doesn't rest any point to this album.

    I understand why some people may not like this album, but for me, it's in my top 10 ever. I kid you not when I consider this album experimental. You won't find anything that sounds like this. Its vibe is intoxicating and addicting. Keep in mind even I didn't like it at first. Give it a few listens, give it some time so that you get used to the sound.

    Carti's simplicity is what makes his music so addicting and intoxicating. The beats made by Pi'erre bourne are pretty amazing. Most features worked out pretty well and yeah, really enjoyed it.

    I am entertained. It isn't anything deep or lyrical, but not everything has to be. The production is really good and Carti has a good flow. The features are good. Has great replay value. I do get annoyed with Carti's voice on some tracks and I feel like Die Lit could be a tad bit shorter, but I still really enjoyed this.

    The album that made me appreciate the new wave in a different light. It took me a while to understand just what makes it float, but there's one line in this album that I think captures it: "Bought a crib for my mama off that mumbling **** It isn't intended to stay within the conventions of lyricism and structure, it's intended to blow the roof off and stir up a frenzy. Pi'erre did his jobThe album that made me appreciate the new wave in a different light.     Another great record by Carti. The same vibes and fun of his mixtape, "Playboi Carti", but expanded upon and supported by great production from Pierre Borne. Only 1-2 misses on this album and the best tracks are "Long Time", "R.I.P.", "Lean 4 Real", "Shoota", "Fell In Luv", and "No Time".

Carti could have easily put out an obnoxious trap album and racked in the sales, but instead, he chose to push the boundaries and foundations to which trap and cloud trap have been built upon. Now I gave a chance to Die Lit for the memes, and **** its great. The intro track is track, so I wanted to turn it off, but I gave an other track a chance. That was R.I.P. I don't really know how to start this review but I guess I'll begin by saying this album is just a simple mix of instruments, ad-libs, and barely audible language song after song after song after song, and it's one of the most sonically pleasing projects I've ever listened to. The song messages are very ignorant and pretty braggadocios which fit well with the whole trap bangerWow... The song messages are very ignorant and pretty braggadocios which fit well with the whole trap banger aesthetic. Speaking of trap bangers, EVERY. SINGLE. SONG. is an absolute banger and a complete experience. The repetitive lyrics, beats, instruments, etc.. Should be obnoxious and annoying and a complete pain to the eardrums but it's this feeling and this rhythm that this album puts out that makes it so enjoyable. I literally don't know how to describe how one might feel listening to this album for a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th time. It's not an album that you can go into the first time and expect to get everything out of it but those repeat playthroughs grow on you. One after another you experience something you might not have experienced on a certain track

    My best example is the track "Lean 4 Real" where I was a little annoyed by the repetitive chorus my first run through the album. Eventually I got into its vibe and all of a sudden I was singing along, nodding my head, then I was dancing to it and doing hand movements and having a blast all on my own. Then I heard Skepta's verse and it just got me hyped, it got me feeling tough, it was all just an experience and this moment repeated itself on multiple songs throughout the album. Many people will dismiss this album as devoid of substance, simplistic, mumble rap at it's lowest form, etc... but they're expecting something like Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly or Nas' Illmatic from this album. It'd be the same a listening to Beastie Boys' License to Ill and expecting to get the same lyrical depth and flow of Enter the Wu Tang. It's just not made to be that kind of album or work of art.

    When judged on it's own merit and strengths, Die Lit literally shouldn't be as good as it is. Playboi Carti's vocals and features are perfect in almost every track and they absolutely add even more sounds to the very simplistic, minimalist sound of the album where you think it's full but really it's Playboi Carti and his features filling in the gaps and it leaves you satisfied and full and you enjoy the ride for what it is. It's honestly an anomaly of an album and I definitely think it's a stepping stone to unlocking the full potential of trap music. It's definitely something I can see inspiring future generation of rappers and trap artists the way 808's and Heartbreak influenced Emo Rap and how Lil' Wayne's whole early 2000's discography shaped trap and hip hop in the current era.    … Expand

    It's fair to say that this album is good, but it is not very risky in the lyrics or beats. The 1st listen was amazing, but after more replays I started noticing the simplicity and similarities to other songs. It is a hard listen after the 1st few times. Some songs can be listened to over and over again and it still will not get old like R.I.P. or Flatbed Freestyle. 7/10

Carti may seem like not that much at first but thats because that's not what he wants, Carti shows the power of simplicity in music. He Uses what he needs and nothing he doesn't a key example of this is the intro track of this album "Long Time." Carti gives a vibe of nostalgia and reminds me of the standout track from Tyler The Creator's Most recent album, November. Carti uses playful production and simplistic lyrics to make a atmosphere. The Song, "Home (KOD)" makes you feel like your in the exact broken relationship carti is rapping about. The Percussion feels Claustrophobic exactally what it seems carti is going for. The Only time the album fails is on the track Pull Up where the beat and lyrics are too minimal and sleepy for me to care. Great Album and while will most likely not win over haters, Carti's fans will surely love it.

    Thanks to the lack of coherence or variety though, nothing on Die Lit really sticks. It's fun enough but, save for a few keepers, has the lifespan of a mayfly. Rock to it for the summer and forget most of it by September.
