I have been a Gaga fan since 2008. When "Chromatica" dropped on Friday at midnight, I have had it on repeat ever since then. I must say that I am very pleased with what Gaga has delivered. When "Chromatica" dropped on Friday at midnight, I have had it on repeat ever since then. I must say that I am very pleased with what Gaga has delivered. This long-awaited LG6 was such an anticipated album, that it probably could never deliver and satisfy every single listener. After all, Gaga has shown us range since the beginning of her career and she has embraced and changed different genres just like her outrageous outfits. This album is clearly a return to the pop and dance roots that we have all seen in Gaga's early days. There are upbeat anthems, haunting lyrics about the dark sides of fame, heartbreak and pain. There is also a 'dance-until-you-forget-your-worries' element that was present on Artpop (although this album manages to do so in a more commercial and radio-friendly way). Chromatica somehow melds all of these into one cohesive album, heavily influenced by 90s house music. There is a certain rawness and earnesty in the lyrics, which one wouldn't necessarily be able to tell just by listening to the music because they're very much at odds with each other. Overall, I imagine that the album will manage to please most fans, especially the ones who have been with her since the very beginning. I am looking forward to more music videos and performances of these introspective bangers. Welcome to Chromatica! Expand

This is certainly a low in Lady Gaga's career. You'd expect a minimum level os maturity in a work following an Oscar winning one. "Chromatica" is a mix of recycled sounds that, by the end of the album all blend together. Nothing stands out, and the tracks that catch a little bit of one's attention are either collaborations, or songs that remind us a bit too much of someone else's work (hello there, Babylon!). This album would be ok for a new artist just cutting the cord from some good years working for Disney. For Lady Gaga it is a new low, which is not the worst because the creepy and distasteful collaboration with R Kelly still exists, despite being conveniently removed right before the Oscar's ceremony. Don't waste your time. Expand

Coerente, letras profundas, alegre e dançante. A Gaga trouxe toda a profundidade do seu coração, como sempre metafórica nas letras, porém bem mais clara sobre suas dores e chamando todos para dançar em Chromatica. Fenomenal!

She really nailed it with this new album, Lady Gaga present to us Chromatica: a place where no one thing is greater than another. But she also presents us the pop song from the old times but with way more talent. Chromatica is perfect to dance and sing but never forget that she is the one and only, super talented Lady Gaga.

Chromatica is an album struggling to find an identity within a modern day music landscape, that has unflatteringly obvious flaws and issues painfully stemming from Lady Gaga's lack of artistic or musical creative effort, and hence more lack of cohesive sound or vision.

Gaga has possibly released the most underwhelming album in recent memory. This thing lacks direction, cohesion or differentiation from its predecessors and its modern competition. It has so many sounds, ideas and potential that is shoved into a clunky, awkward and often boring musical and lyrical route, that masks its misused and untouched sounds and ideas as some kind of artistically driven vision. It looks as though Gaga has, disappointingly, seen an opportunity to latch onto sounds that look appealing to general audiences - yet failing to pair most of those sounds to something resembling anything more than poor. It lacks depth, meaning, rhyme and reason and doesn't deserve to be held in any sort of high regard.

Stuffed with inconclusive experimentation and befuddlingly unsatisfying musical elements, Chromatica appears as a leech onto music that, in theory, appeals to the most people possible. The execution of this, however, is basic, uninteresting and ambiguous in its message, if it even has one. From the cold and raw dance house pop of "Alice" to the surface level emotive disco-reminiscent of "1000 Doves," this body of work feels messy at best. The tether between what Gaga needs and wants to do is muddied in ambiguity and her vocals come off as eerily unpleasant in most of the times she tries to emphasise her voice. It seems as though the intent for this was to have Gaga return to a somewhat comforting dancefloor sound, but with little to no effort to have any semblance of artistic growth or sonical depth.

In the grand scheme of her musical career, Chromatica is a harsh reminder of Gaga's failure to keep the edge and flair she once held so pristinely, as she battles modern-day musical trends and struggles to re-establish herself as a musical force. This album epitomises devolved and uninspired musical artistry, and makes me doubtful she will be able to reclaim the sound she has been so desperately chasing for years.

The lows: 1.lyrics or melodies are not appreciated because of the over-the-top production, production in fact ruined some beautiful songs. 2.I just didn’t connect to it, it’s kind of difficult to appreciate at first listen, I also couldn’t enjoy one song from begining to end, I always found some aspects that I was not sure about, and most of the times these are related either to the production or the robotic voices that Gaga loves inserting that sometimes just killed the vibes. No skips on this album, all different styles of house music, and gaga even steps into trance music a bit. Definitely a 10/10, a solid, fantastic pop house album with a cohesive and positive message. The haters have clearly not even looked into the lyrics whatsoever. This album will be played in clubs for many more years to come.

Obsessed with the late 90s - early 2000s feel of this era for her. Very house & heart of pop. I'm feeling spice girls & Kylie 2001 with this work. Chromatica feels like a bittersweet triumph. She truly earned this moment.

The nostalgia in the production — a blend of crisp digital synth textures and ringing grooves drawn directly from '90s house music — further bolsters the shadowed euphoria of a song like "Sour Candy," in which Gaga is joined by the K-pop girl group Blackpink; "Sine from Above," featuring Elton John, gets a similar friction from the interplay between their voices.

Infectious, exciting and even a little hedonistic during some of the most confusing of modern times, now’s never been a better time to get lost in this new destination.

Chromatica’s frank grappling with the vagaries of Gaga’s brain – and the way fame exacerbates them – ends up feeling much more real than touring dive bars with a guitar and a Stetson ever did.
