Changes marked Justin's staggering move to R&B. The instrumentation felt softer, a lot of reverbs, and calming; but then the vocal came in along with lethargic and noisy beats. The whole album is soooooo repetitive, every song sounds unfinished, and exactly the same. Every song literally sounds identical, except mixed differently, and if it’s not that every other song sounds like a continuation of the last one. Very rudimentary, and basic, it has a very 2009/10 vibe with the pop / R&B hybrid that we saw in “My world 2.0.” In conclusion, its 2020, not 2010. First of all, I’ve listened to everything; the problem here is that most of them are extremely similar in the way they sound, so it’s almost like the same song over and over again. Secondly, “Running Over” is just a blatant rip-off of the song “Synergy” by Asher Monroe. It’s exactly THE SAME beat. Listen and compare.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Unoriginal, boring, predictable. Was hoping Yummy was some sort of fake-out situation, making you think that the album was one thing then later turning out to be completely different, but I should have known not to expect that much thought being put into this. Songs sounded the same, lyrics were so predictable I could guess what they were before they were “sung” (using that word very generously here), etc... truly unremarkable. Expand

What a lot of reviewers and critics don’t seem to understand is that this album is more-so for his wife than his listeners. He speaks about every aspect of his relationship throughout the album with decent features and great overall production. This is more of an R&B type album with of course pop thrown around in there too and it really allows the listener to feel Justin Bieber’s emotions as he articulates them with a beautiful singing voice and beats that fit accordingly. Definitely my favorite Bieber album not just because it’s new but because it’s actually quite chill to listen to. People may call this album “immature” but I find it to be perfectly suited for this part of the timeline within Justin’s life. Expand

Um álbum básico de um artista que já mostrou ser capaz de muito mais em trabalhos anteriores. Changes soa como uma tentativa falha depois de anos fora da música, contando com músicas extremamente parecidas e simples.

A promising album, but Bieber don't make a extraordinary job, the album is really confuse and tiring.
The beginning is so good, but after 4 tracks, this become so wearing to listen.
The "Yummy" remix is so unnecessary, I think that is just to remember how much worst that song is
So, 4 is only for the producers hard work.

As you can see, I gave it a 4
    You may wonder why...
It's Because that this album is just one dimensional, the lyrics sounds like it's written by a primary school student who fall in love for the first time.
The instrumentals are just OK, nothing special but carried this album from this messy presentation.
It's called Changes, but did something actually change in Justin's style or content? No!

While Bieber's voice still sounds like that of a mid- to late-teen, singing seems to come more naturally to him, and his falsetto pleas are neither bitter nor entitled, strictly genuine and adult.

It’s a record in total lust and fealty to Hailey; you’ll probably want to duck out to use the bathroom halfway through.

Artists can certainly grow up and mature without losing their edge or creative spark. Changes, however, is ultimately a transitional record that finds Bieber navigating how to reconcile adulthood with pop stardom—and discovering that, at least in his case, this merger is a tricky one.
