    I honestly loved this album, it managed to be even better than "The Album", showed one of the best sides of Blackpink and uses sound evolution. I hope that in the coming years their company will be able to work better on their vocals because it is a sure bet.

    Not big surprises on this album, overhyped just like the group. One track sounding similar to Pretty Savage of their previous album, a solo song being putted on tracklist from nowhere... there's a lot of kpop groups doing better music.

    Every song in this album is a BANGER. Vocal wise : they're at their peak. Matured and strong vocals from each one of them. Music wise : the genres are really rich. Pop, disco, classical, a little punk & rock, you name it. Don't forget the main dish : HIP HOP TO THE CORE (ofc)
    But really, the one that took me by surprise is the ballad one. It's top notch

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In general, it's a good Sophomore Album following their debut 'The Album'. New sound, new feels, but at the same time—it is still BLACKPINK. Though I'm expecting a 10+ songs since it's a full album, a new song structure esp. for their title track 'Shut Down' which sampled Paganini's 'La Campanella' and of course entirely branded songs (referring to Ready For Love). I also wished that they followed a certain structure for the album to make the songs coherent and not make it kind of messy. Many fans speculated that BLACKPINK would be exploring new era after this and I also hope that they really do. They should stop with the 'quality over quantity' and just give their all, besides they never made a bad song—always good. With BORN PINK, they gave us some of their best songs like 'The Happiest Girl' which is contrast with its title, 'Typa Girl' which gave the same feels as 'Pretty Savage' but better, and 'Yeah Yeah Yeah' that Jisoo and Rosé co-written. It also has 'Pink Venom' and 'Hard To Love' which is a Rosé solo song.… Expand

    Waiting almost 2 years for an album, you'd expect them to release some amazing songs that would leave you in shock. And yet, every single song on this album is severely lacking. All songs on this album are just a worse copy of the songs they released for their last album, which is disappointing to say the least. The beats are annoying, the lyrics made no sense... Just a very bad album overall

    As a blonk since 2019, I have to admit, this album is trash. I developed permanent ear damage after listening to Jisoo's dying goat voice and my fave nasalist's, Rosé's vocals. Someone should donate her a vicks because I fear her nose is clogged permanently. I have to admit, my faves tanked and and they should disband.

I want to detail that there are leaked projects and demos, and that YGE could easily resurrect these demos and bring quality beats to us. 'TOUCHDOWN', for example, would be a track with electro-pop and bubblegum-pop genres. 'Hot Ice' would be a psychedelic electro-house. 'Come Alive' would be a ballad, but with soft, flat-like beats. That only BLACKPINK can do, after all, it's the biggest girl group in the world, and the biggest group of 2022. QUEENS, only.… Expand

    The execution itself often falls frustratingly flat, lacking originality and a clear-cut focus. With its limited scope of musical conceptions, Born Pink, therefore, sounds strangely restricted, as if detained in a confined space wherein it longs to escape.

    On ‘Born Pink’, BLACKPINK tread familiar thematic territory for pop music, but the imagery – finding solace from heartbreak at the bottom of a bottle (‘The Happiest Girl’), boasting about being the type of girl you take to your “mama house” (‘Typa Girl’) – isn’t particularly novel, though they have effectively applied a personal touch in the past (see Jennie’s ‘Solo’).
