For me Bloom is one of the best pop albums of this year. It's the perfect collection of dance tracks, guitar and piano ballads and melancholic tracks in the spirit of Troye's debut album. Bloom stands out as a modern pop/electropop guitar and piano driven album. Frankly, this is what dude truly managed to do. Fresh modernist sounding with some 80's and 90's style stains provides precious thirty-with-something minutes listening to high-level music spending that time with kind of nostalgia and melancholy while simultaneously having such ballads as "The Good Side" (one ofBloom stands out as a modern pop/electropop guitar and piano driven album. I'm pleasantly surprised by Troye's sophomore album. When leadsingle My My My! and The Good Side got released about half a year ago, I was kind of worried this album was not going to be as good as Blue Neighborhood. I thought both songs sounded kind of awkward and bland and I was honestly disappointed, since Blue Neighborhood has meant so much to me and my hopes were incredibly high. Luckily both Bloom and Dance To This changed my mind before the album saw its official release, otherwise I would not have listened to this pop masterpiece -- and am I happy that I decided to give it a try! There's a nice mix of low-key pop songs, upbeat pop songs and some soulful ballads and even My My My! and The Good Side sound not that bad when listening to the full album. I honestly love it. Expand

This was my first exposure to Troye Sivan and I'm very impressed with this album. Mature, intelligent pop music with beautiful, lush production. This is the first pop album to stop me in my tracks all year. It's too late for "Bloom" to be the banger of the summer in the US, but in his homeland of Australia, count on that song to be the soundtrack to the best moments of summer! Bravo, Mr. Sivan!

Maybe this album won't take Troye to the top and make him a commercial phenomenon like his friends Taylor and Ariana, but the way he's honest, vulnerable and mature in the album will make the world see he's an incredibly talented and authentic artist and that's something harder (and maybe more important) to do. this album is a solid 10 and here's why: his songwriting is really good, original and you can relate to it A LOT, the cohesion is amazing (there isn't one single song that doesn't fit with the concept of the album) and also his growth in creativity, because to put up visuals, songs and production like this you must me a hard-worker genius

This is quite an interesting album for me to review. I know Sivan only through Charli XCX's most recent single "1999" and I think he does a great job on it, so I decided to listen to this album.
'Bloom', overall, is just a bad rendition of Tove Lo's 'Lady Wood' albums to be honest, not only not having the same emotionless feelings with a hint of aggressiveness or even a bit of emotion

'Bloom', overall, is just a bad rendition of Tove Lo's 'Lady Wood' albums to be honest, not only not having the same emotionless feelings with a hint of aggressiveness or even a bit of emotion inside, but also not interesting AT ALL (except for the single "My My My!", which is, I think, the only song I like from 'Bloom').
Best tracks: My My My!, Postcard

Without a doubt „Bloom” is the best album of the year. It’s very consistent, but every song is quite different. I can describe it through one word: emotional. The biggest advantage of this album are lyrics - better than ever in career Troye

Bloom to me is the perfect pop album. Not only does Troye have a gorgeous voice and does he know just what makes his song that little bit extra special by adding all tiny sparkle like sounds and underlying melodies/harmonies etc, but it's also the right blend of songs you want to dance to, and slower ones. Bloom is exceptional pop album that balances club bops to soul slowed down heartbreak songs. Even though the songs are on other ends of the emotional spectrum, they still fit together on the album as a whole. Tracks that are the highlights of the album :My My My, Lucky Strikes, Plum, Bloom and Heavenly Way to Die

This album shows how underrated Troye Sivan is. Immaculate pop production songs with soul hitting lyrics are like a pop bible for queer audiences. Bloom deserves more praise from younger listeners. This album has got me through hard times and this will always be one of THE ALBUM in my heart.

The sophomore album from Aussie act Troye Sivan is easily the best pop project released this year. While his first LP "Blue Neighborhood", released in late 2015, explored themes of growing up, finding one's identity, and teenage angst, love, and loss, "Bloom" finds Sivan exploring the theme of finding love and fighting for it in the most mature representation he's ever opted for. The production on the whole album is magnificent, and the lyricism even better. The highlights are hard to choose, for all tracks are essentials, from the dance-able 'Bloom', to the heart-shattering 'Postcard', and the album coming full circle with the outstanding tender closer, 'Animal', a proclaimed lovesong about Sivan's current boyfriend Jacob Bixenman. What truly stands out is that the whole thing has the proper length (a running time of 35 minutes) and is straight to the point: 10 well-made tracks, no fillers.
At only 23, Troye Sivan could give fellow artists a lesson about how to make a truly astonishing pop record. "Bloom" proves itself to be a moody, elegant, and sharp record at its core.

Нет чувства, что этот бит лишний, как было с половиной треков альбома "Lust for life" Lana Del Rey. Expand

Troye Sivan is the LGBTQ+ icon that we all need to listen more on the radio: He's young, he's kind and he has lots of things to say to every young queer (and not) person around the world. The way he talks about sexuality in his album is exceptionally beautiful.

Even though every song in this album is incredible, my Top 3 is:
    1. "My My My!"
    2. "Postcard" ft. Gordi
    3. "Dance to this" ft. Ariana Grande

While tracks like "Animal" and "What a Heavenly Way to Die" are pleasing-if-passable--largely due to the fact that they lack that air of specificity that gives so many other of Bloom's songs their strength--Bloom remains a powerful, thoughtful, and engaging listen: an album about queer life that welcomes all listeners from all quadrants.

Sivan may indeed only be 23 and while he might not be a gay icon just yet, records like Bloom which clearly and proudly sing about same sex relationships while sounding shiny and polished in all the right places, will certainly help him get there.

Bloom is a bare-faced record, thrillingly honest and defiantly queer, proving Sivan is one of pop’s most essential voices.
