As a huge fan of Blue Neighborhood, I was enormously excited for this album, and if Sweetener hadn't come out the week before it would easily be the biggest disappointment of the year. i struggle to think of an album more middling and mediocre, so noncommital in all of its facets, so easily forgotten and confused with a million other projects most of which at least have a few high points. There's only one good song on the album-Animal-and even then it's more just good within the context of an awful album rather than good when stacked against other projects. The most frustrating thing about the album is that you sense there was potential here-and indeed, Blue Neighborhood showcases Troye's undeniable talent. That talent is invisible on this record. If you thoguht Troye was uncharismatic on BN, he's a brick wall here, unmoving, uncommitted to whatever he happens to be seeing about. The lyrics are as basic as can be. Only a few are outright cringey, but they're bad all the same. The production is the true saving grace here but with a performer who sounds so bored, the life is sucked out of the songs before they can even find their footing.… Expand

    Good album. Missing some aspects compared to his debut album. Fav tracks: My! My! My! and The Good Side. Least fav tracks: Bloom.

    This album is just not forgetable, at all. The nostalgic pop that Troye always brings to the game is what makes him have such a strong, yet not that big, fandom. It's a great album, with very strong lyrics and very well done production.

    This album shows how underrated Troye Sivan is. Immaculate pop production songs with soul hitting lyrics are like a pop bible for queer audiences. Bloom deserves more praise from younger listeners. This album has got me through hard times and this will always be one of THE ALBUM in my heart.

    Troye Sivan is an underrated and talented pop artist. This album is great. It describes his romance and also his problem as a gay, a person who is in the LGBT community. I love it. Troye really prove that he is very different from every other male artists. He is not mediocre at all. He is something really new and fresh.     Troye Sivan é um nome importante no pop masculino, ao invés de se manter básico como a maioria dos cantores homens do pop atualmente, Troye mostrou em seus dois álbuns a criatividade e sua grande importância para comunidade lgbtq+, trazendo sua representatividade. Seu álbum debut Blue neighbourhood é lindo e muito bem trabalhado artisticamente. Troye mostra quem ele é nesse álbum. E asTroye Sivan é um nome importante no pop masculino, ao invés de se manter básico como a maioria dos cantores homens do pop atualmente, Troye mostrou em seus dois álbuns a criatividade e sua grande importância para comunidade lgbtq+, trazendo sua representatividade. Seu álbum debut Blue neighbourhood é lindo e muito bem trabalhado artisticamente. Troye mostra quem ele é nesse álbum. E as expectativas para o segundo álbum não estavam tão grandes, já que o cantor tinha entregado um bom trabalho já, mas o Bloom se superou.
    É um album fresco de escutar e é como se as estações do ano tivessem som e um perfeito exemplo de como é bom ouvir música pop boa e com sentimentos. O toque eletrônico sem exageros desse álbum dá um sabor melhor ainda. Todas as músicas são muito bem apresentadas e fluem muito bem, bloom poderia ter sido o primeiro single para representar o que o álbum é, porém my my my! é muito atrativa de primeira, uma escolha inteligente. Os feats são feitos com excelência, em dance to this a voz de uma das maiores estrelas pop, Ariana Grande, combina lindamente com a de Troye. Em Postcard a melancolia de Gordi entra na música com sutileza e deixando a música com mais efeito.

    this was a true queer pop album. It is, in my opinion, one of the best pop albums of 2018. it had highs like my my my! , an energetic single about falling in love, specifically about troye's boyfriend jacob. It also had lows like the good side, a 21st- century ballad about receiving the positive end, emotionally and romantically, of a bad breakup. it has epic singles with    bloom - 8.2

    this was a true queer pop album. It is, in my opinion, one of the best pop albums of 2018. it had highs like my my my! , an energetic single about falling in love, specifically about troye's boyfriend jacob. It also had lows like the good side, a 21st- century ballad about receiving the positive end, emotionally and romantically, of a bad breakup. it has epic singles with visuals to boot, and two stellar features with indie singer gordi and ariana grande in postcard and dance to this, respectively. It's only flaw seems to be its song order. i'm particular when in comes to song order, and the flow from postcard to dance to this to plum seems disjointed, and for a 10-track album, it draws attention from the A+ production. other than that, I have no reason to say it isn't an incredible album.     This is quite an interesting album for me to review. I know Sivan only through Charli XCX's most recent single "1999" and I think he does a great job on it, so I decided to listen to this album.
    'Bloom', overall, is just a bad rendition of Tove Lo's 'Lady Wood' albums to be honest, not only not having the same emotionless feelings with a hint of aggressiveness or even a bit of emotion    This is quite an interesting album for me to review.     Bloom is an incredible job, he has the option of sound more minimista. That has this composition, a more developed thing and artistic maturity and person. Proud of Sivan.

    A truly amazing album, not for his songs but for the songs he sings and the passion he conveys. Troye Sivan stunned Bloom after Blue Neighborhood was nominated for Grammy in the category "Best Music Film" is an outrage not to have been nominated for the 2019 Grammy's. Collapse

    This album is POP GOLD. Troye incorporates sounds from many past eras of pop, with the 80's sounding tittle track Bloom to My My My, and Seventeen, while still making the record sound current. Overall not the album is not the most cohesive but it does include cohesion. Some of the slower tracks lack some real structure making the sound longer than they actually are, and slightly lessThis album is POP GOLD.     Bloom is exceptional pop album that balances club bops to soul slowed down heartbreak songs. Even though the songs are on other ends of the emotional spectrum, they still fit together on the album as a whole. Tracks that are the highlights of the album :My My My, Lucky Strikes, Plum, Bloom and Heavenly Way to Die

    Here he tries to experiment with new music and in my opinion he doesn't achieve this, it sounds too similar to his debut but thats not exactly bad, because some of them are really good, too bad its a short album. Best Non-Singles tracks are Plum and Animal.

Y es la verdad Troye supo poner pasión a este álbum, su estructura así cómo su producción son magistrales. Nos da Pop puro con esos efectos y arreglos que nos dejan inmersos en cada estrofa del álbum. Detalles armónicos que, simplemente son tan cautivadores. No podría enumerar o descubrir todasQué decir del mejor álbum pop masculino de este 2018, oh sí no es que, de los últimos 5 años. Y es la verdad Troye supo poner pasión a este álbum, su estructura así cómo su producción son magistrales. Nos da Pop puro con esos efectos y arreglos que nos dejan inmersos en cada estrofa del álbum. Detalles armónicos que, simplemente son tan cautivadores. No podría enumerar o descubrir todas las cosas buenas de este álbum. Pero si podría dejar la única mala que pude encontrar. Si eres un consumidor comercial, genérico, de gustos por sonidos Pop más energéticos, simplemente vas a pasar del álbum y es que Bloom en un punto puede perderte más de lo necesario y dejarte medio aburrido. No quisiera hacer tal comparación pero me es necesario hacer hincapié en el trabajo de Lorde con Melodrama y es que si en un punto pueden ser 2 trabajos completamente diferentes, en esencia el Pop y el trabajo ejemplar en todos los sentidos (producción, composición, arreglos, dirección) pueden tornarse un poco demasiado a varios oídos. Como dije mo podría describir todo el trabajo tan personal, que para muchos (en especial la comunidad LGBT+ será un grito, una manera de abrir sus sentimientos. Un 9.3 para Troye Sivan… Expand

    While tracks like "Animal" and "What a Heavenly Way to Die" are pleasing-if-passable--largely due to the fact that they lack that air of specificity that gives so many other of Bloom's songs their strength--Bloom remains a powerful, thoughtful, and engaging listen: an album about queer life that welcomes all listeners from all quadrants.

    Sivan may indeed only be 23 and while he might not be a gay icon just yet, records like Bloom which clearly and proudly sing about same sex relationships while sounding shiny and polished in all the right places, will certainly help him get there.
