  1. An impressive 13-song set that's reliably original and streamlined.
  2. Alternative Press
    100
As good as anything out there. [Nov 2005, p.220]
  3. Entertainment Weekly
    75
Has an endearing, well, likability. [23 Sep 2005, p.91]
  4. It's all terribly charming. Too bad lyrics are straight from soporific bio class margin-notes.
  5. Occupies that small overlapping space between breezy commercial craft and alt-rock subversion.
  6. Urb
    70
Surprisingly sophisticated for a collection of shouty-pouty ballads from a trio of 20-year-olds. [Dec 2005, p.98]
  7. Paste Magazine
    70
The songs fail to insinuate themselves melodically, rising into choruses that are merely workmanlike rather than hooky. [Dec 2005, p.114]
  8. Z's leaden voice is what really makes The Like stand out.
  9. If Avril Lavigne dealt with her 'issues' by adding whiskey to her skinny latté, bummed about on a Californian beach at sunset and listened to The Go-Gos, this is what she'd sound-like.
  10. This is an album that you'll like rather than actually love.
  11. Mojo
    80
    A slow-burning cracker. [Apr 2006, p.101]
  12. Q Magazine
    80
As lovelorn and jaded as it is unshakeable. [Apr 2006, p.116]
  13. Uncut
    70
An understated, often truly lovely debut. [Apr 2006, p.106]
