    AOTY, Marina nos ha dado una obra maestra y de lo mejor de su discografía. La lírica, los ritmos y la producción sacan a relucir el talento que tiene la artista, toda su esencia está puesta en el álbum y merece tener aún más reconocimiento, simplemente una obra de arte.

    Um dos melhores discos da carreira, onde Marina soube ser sagaz, com letras e melodias instigantes, que falam sobre suas esperanças, suas angustias... sobre suas lutas. De fato, um ótimo trabalho que vai nos render longos sonhos antigos nessa terra caótica.

    Original, poético, melódico, y muy real, casi cómo un "The Family Jewels" pero más maduro y trascendente con un toque nuevo y fresco, "Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land" es el regreso que nos demostró que Marina sigue siendo una artista completa; Música, Letra y Voz.

    this album combines all of the strengths of her previous records and is overall just a pleasant listening experience. from major bops talking about social and political issues to beautifully sad ballads this album is exciting track after track. written all by herself this is without a doubt marina's most ambitious record yet!!

    Record quite short but definitely makes up by quality. Starting loud and ending with touching ballads. Each song keeps us in suspense to the very end. I really enjoy this very political Marina, not disappointed.

    There is no weak song in this album, it's absolutely perfect. The time when L+F was out, it was obvious that she was lost but with this album she seems to find herself in a precious and poetic way. Ancient Dreams In a Modern Land is probably her best album yet.

    I love the way Marina is giving us an album that contains real and hard feelings. And also we get songs to dance and feel free. That's her style:something real, something human, anything but ordinary. I admired her and her uniqueness.

    Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land destaca por su gran cohesión instrumental y lírica. Te pone a bailar mientras toca temas de importancia actual de índole social y ambiental. La progresión de los acordes y los cambios de melodía vuelven a las canciones muy poco predecibles. Asimismo, baladas bellas que balancean la energía de la primera mitad. Un excelente álbum y un soplido de aire fresco.

Porém, ela termina o álbum trazendo uma experiência própria dela com umAmei todas as faixas! Acho que a Marina sabe fazer algo muito especial, algo que ela faz neste álbum de maneira esplêndida, que é trazer temas universais para o âmbito doméstico. Ela começa o álbum falando sobre a evolução humana como um todo, trazendo os pontos gerais com os quais deveríamos estar nos preocupando. Porém, ela termina o álbum trazendo uma experiência própria dela com um relacionamento que terminou há pouco. Ela fala sobre temas amplos e consegue transpor exatamente o sentimento desses temas amplos para sentimentos específicos. Talvez a minha faixa favorita em questão de letra e reflexão seja Highly Emocional People justamente por conta desse fator. Porém, musicalmente e por conta da provocação para a indústria, Venus Fly Trap tenha meu amor total e completo. É sempre muito lindo ver um artista deixando claro como Hollywood é suja.     This album can be the best album of 2021. It’s self-written just like Marina’s 3rd album “FROOT”. My favorite tracks are Goodbye, Flowers and Venus Fly Trap so far and I recommend you to listen to the whole album if you like pop music. Love you Marina

    Marina never disappoints. From before this album came out I knew it was going to be good, but even so, I was taken by surprise.
    Marina took all the elements that characterize her and united them in this project that show how enormously talented she is.
    From "The Family Jewels" to "Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land" Marina has shown that there is no one like her. Amazing.

I am sure that anybody who has taken the path of going deeper within themselves to reach a new layer of consciousness, knows exactly what she's talking about.     Diferente do L+F, o álbum contrapõe o conceito minimalista e vai direto ao ponto, pautando questões sérias sobre o mundo moderno. Marina finalmente pode desabafar sobre si e o planeta, sem que isso afete ou torne cru a sonoridade das músicas. Soa como um EP sobre liberdade e combate à obstinação, e ela conseguiu entregar o que queria.

Es un excelente Album Marina da la voz a minorias que hasta el dia de hoy han sido ignoradas y discriminas (Man's World) hay un manifiesto en Venus Fly Trap, Purge The Poison, New America y Ancient Dreams in a modern land sobre el Feminismo, la politica, sobre como aun no somos concientes sobre el cambio climatico. lo machista que es aun la sociedad y el estereotipo de la masculinidad toxica que no se puede mostrar fragil con Highly Emotional People. Con I love you but i love me more Marina nos muestra como esta empoderada y tiene claras sus prioridades. En el lado mas emocional estan Pandora's Box, Goodbye y Flowers con letras que duelen pero son sanadoras a la vez. Son dies canciones bien pensadas ninguna esta ahi por azar, cada una tiene un por que, cuenta una historia una verdad que nos hace refleccionar o nos da una bofetada sobre la como otras personas han vivido oprimidas en esta sociedad machista y heteronormada.
    Con respecto a los sonidos Marina vuelve a abrazar a TFJ, Froot y Electra Heart con mas elegancia y evolucion. Los puntos mas altos son Ancient Dreams in a Modern land con su mensaje, y como no conformarnos con este molde de la sociedad, Purge the poison energica y con punsante y por ultimo Flowers con un piano exquisito y como marina muestra su ayer y hoy por medio de un amor perdido. Messages are conveyed with the feelings that the lyrics convey. The euphoria of Purge The Poision. The cry of New America's enough and its more personal lyrics also with all the melancholy... The only thing I'm wishing for right now is getting some kind of deluxeSelf-written album by my favorite artist. Focusing on social issues and a heartbreak. All the songs are relatable to me. Vocals are amazing as well as production of the whole album. The visuals and aesthetic of the album is amazing as well. This album is tied on the first place with FROOT on my personal ranking.     ancient dreams in a modern land - 8/10:

    fast and boppy, a good opening track, though sort of repetitive and definitely the weakest single out of the four. Nevertheless, still a good song with amazing vocals from marina!

    venus fly trap - 10/10: feels like a 80’s arcade game, just amazing to be honest so much can be said for the lyrics, the music video, the vocals just amazing.

    mans world - 9/10: slower than the past too, but the lyrics on this song combined with the vocals definitely make this song perfectly bittersweet and makes you crave more! In regards to being the first single, i’m not sure how i feel yet.

    purge the poison - 10/10:

    from the snippet to the release to the music video to the album it was consistently amazing and kept us gripped, i love it absolutely amazing, beautiful lyrics and vocals and the rock influences have a special place in my heart.

    highly emotional people - 10/10:

    genuinely just a beautiful song, a gift from god tbh. the line “the universe hangs like a necklace from god, jewels suspended in the cosmos” took me the **** out. so beautiful i will be crying to this later, amazing beautiful spectacular AND THE VOCALS YESSS EXACTLY! THE PRODUCTION TOOOOO???? SO SMOOTH LOVED IT new america - 9/10: the build is good, i love the melody on this ****ing song yessss this is the snippet that was stuck in my brain!!!!!!!! it feels grand like the national anthem yet she’s mocking it through the tone? it’s brilliant i love it. verse 2 “****ed with the food chain etc...” is amazing. the vocals are amazing!!! the ending kinda sounds like you’re in a tornado and it’s swirling around you like it’s the beginning of a new america????

    pandora’s box - 9/10: OMG I LOVEEE IT, the melody and the vocals omg, now the beats have come in, damn this song is sad wtf. at around 2:20 it sort of sounds like solitaire and i love it. a sad bop for sure, the chorus is my favourite “you don’t know what you’ve unlocked” BRUHHHH IT SOUNDS SO GOOD. Her vocals on this too so strong.

    i love you but i love me more - 9/10: the melody and beat on this are so good, i love it! the message on period **** jack ugly. you’ll say you’ll ch-change?? idk what it means but i like it. THE ENDING WITH THE GUITAR?? yes i think so absolutely yes period. YOULL SAYY YOULLL TRANSFORMMMMM.

    wow, these lyrics. okay deep as **** OMG LOOHOOOOHOOSST??? i think so yes absolutely.     She gave us camp, AMAZING visuals, good music, lyrics, era, concept, cohesive album, YOU NAME IT!!!! all of it is on this album. Undoubtedly her best album in her career so far I LOVE IT

    i literally love every song from this album, and i think this is the only album that shows every marina’s feelings. she as an artist has always been near my heart, when i have bad or good days and when i listen to her i feel like something warm came to my heart. she deserves all the best, thank you marina xx

    Such a return to form and I love every ounce of this album. From the beginning to end, her songwriting is just so immaculate. Highly Emotional People and Flowers are my absolute favorites, and even the singles released first sound so fresh.

    Um ótimo álbum com um misto de críticas fortes e amor próprio. Marina entregou estética impecável em conjunto com sua sonoridade única, fundando uma espécie de fairy tale pop que nos faz viajar pelo mundo deste álbum enquanto entendemos os significados importantes de suas letras. Me arrisco a dizer que é o melhor álbum dela.

    Es mi primer era con ella, y me hace mucha ilusión. He escuchado sus anteriores albumes y son piezas de arte; este no es la excepción
    Es tan bueno, tanto liricamente como musicalmente; lleno de ritmos y melodias super buenas. Super recomendable!

    Marina creó un álbum perfectamente balanceado, es increíble la capacidad que tiene de mostrarnos sus sentimientos de la manera más honesta posible. Sin duda es un disco que viene directamente de su alma y corazón, ya que, cada pieza habla lo piensa o siente. 10/10

    Such a wonderful album. It's the first time MARINA has been so vulnerable in the maiing of an album. The sound is consistent throughout the album and really great lyrics overall.

    Marina giving us an album with meaningful lyrics and a mixture of both of her best eras, Froot and TFJ, this album is simply beautiful in every sense, from production, vocals, and lyrics. One of her best works so far!

    Sin duda alguna el mejor álbum de Marina. La instrumentalización, las letras, la interpretación de Marina es sin duda espectacular. Me sorprendió muchisimo. Excelente trabajo, Marina.

    Marina regresa con su quinto álbum de estudio y nos brinda arte en toda la extensión de la palabra. Sin duda la lírica de Marina y su voz, acompañadas de la excelente producción de James Flannigan y Jennifer Decilveo nos dan el mejor álbum del año.

    Superb album. Marina sings balled songs so beautifully. We love a ‘boss girl’ song which Marina gave us (VFT). This album is definitely a favourite. Remember to stream Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land! ;)

    Sin dudarlo, uno de sus mejores álbumes. Bastante bien organizado en cuanto a las temáticas, pasando de denunciar los problemas del mundo en el que vivimos, a sus propios problemas personales. ¿Lo mejor? Los ecos a sus pasadas eras.

    Everything is delicate, but nothing is muted. This aesthetic certainly isn’t for everybody, but after her ambivalent pop experiments, Marina no longer needs her albums to be. It’s a beacon out for the highly emotional people of the world, of whom she clearly is one; it’s for her.
