The album is too long and too filled with tired tropes, but through the layers of sediment and rock I can still see specks of gold splashing around in the pan.

Yeat remains a lyricist of limited depth, incapable of writing a strong bar other than to reassure us that he’s “geeked up” off molly, “Perkies,” or something else. His vocal tone, which he sometimes transmutes into a drunken garble or a childlike chirp, are his best assets, helping him blend and push the tracks along without quite elevating them.

It's overstuffed and bland at once, with some legitimately great production spoiled by vacant lyricism and lack of personality.

‘ADL’ feels samey at times. .... A rich seam for fans to explore, but ultimately this is a widescreen blockbuster that is big on stunning vistas, and short on plot.

Yeat simply can’t carry the songs on ADL on rapping alone, especially when he has so little of interest to say. When his music thrived on overload, with the production throwing everything at the wall and letting the noise cohere into something compelling, that limitation could be masked. Here, though, those shortcomings are laid bare all too frequently.
