    2 is the most alive record of this band’s sparse career, but it finds its excitement in charmingly low-key avenues; it’s a record made by five friends daring to try something new, and pulling it off with quiet confidence.

    With 15 short tracks stacked tightly into 37 minutes, 2 doesn’t always cohere, but it’s certainly playful, freewheeling, and occasionally inspired.
