This is a great movie for kids and a great movie for adults looking to find that sense of awe and wonder inside them that they may have forgotten. After a wonderful performance from Charlize Theron in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ last week it was great to see two more strong female performances from Britt Robertson and Raffey Cassidy in ‘Tomorrowland’. Sure, Clooney is on the poster and he does a fine job being Clooney, but the most delightful bit for me was the performances of the two young actresses. I recommend ‘Tomorrowland’ for its optimism, its look at what we are capable of, and for its originality as a movie; which is hard to come by these days. That being said if you miss it in the theaters and see it at home in six to nine months that’s ok too. Expand

Through the eyes of an idealistic boy, we could see what we all hoped for, an idealistic, and healthy future for ourselves, and everyone. A girl, that is tech savvy and not wearing god awful pink, that is the strong character, that rebels against what she believes is wrong, and doesn't have a preoccupation with her parents. Without spoiling the storyline includes a jetpack...in the sixties, I couldn't wait till the seventies when I could jetpack to school....
I couldn't wait for this film to come out!
I brought my son, and we weren't disappointed...and left the movie...saying how can we make this happen?
This movie has a positive message, and doesn't succumb to the simplistic doomsday without a fight!
There are plenty of inferences to make the movie really interesting....for a change, its not as simple as it may seem...unless you are simple

First of all, the most obvious, it was absolutely beautiful in every way. The special effects were completely perfect and I was just astonished by watching the land called Tomorrowland in the movie. Besides that, the story was very original and interesting. It's nice to watch a different movie once in a while. And there was a pretty good acting.
The only thing I disliked very much is one particular cliche at the end, and some things that weren't clear about the story.
Besides that, this film is great, and everyone has to watch it.

I honestly didn't know what this movie would be like. I went into this movie not knowing the plot, not watching the trailers, and not reading any reviews. I wanted to go into this movie looking for a great story and likeable characters and that is exactly what I got. One of the first things you will notice with this movie is that the film looks beautiful and the cinematography is great. Geroge Clooney and Britt Robertson work together in a way that is unparreled in most of the big budget films today, but Tomorrwland is held down by uneven pacing. I will admit that the first and last twenty minutes are boring but not enough to make you disinterested. Ultimately, Tomorrowland fulfills what it was set out to do, bring us an enjoyable Sci-Fi flick fun for the whole family Expand

Unfortunately, Tomorrowland gives us only a few things from this list. The cast is great so as cinematography but what begins as an exciting and funny adventure, only finished with a disappointing ending. Screenplay is very confusing, poorly developed and we have to wait a long time to finally see something big happens. And the worst thing: where is Tomorrowland? We have the impression that the whole film is in this amazing and magical place but it isn't and it kills you. Honestly, Tomorrowland is hard for kids to enjoy because of some quite violent scenes and how long it takes for the story to actually happen and it might also let adults bored. Casey is a nice girl but she's far from the charisma of the young Frank we met at the beginning so this can get in your way too. Watch it if you care a lot about visual effects because the rest...the idea was only good on paper. Expand

Tomorrowland is aAfter films like The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, there was no doubt in my mind that Tomorrowland was going to be another great addition to that list, and boy was I wrong. Tomorrowland is a visually beautiful film that addressed some very important issues, however as film, Tomorrowland did not work. It tries extremely hard to sell you the overall message, which quickly becomes tiring.

The movie is based on the popular Disney Theme Land called “Tomorrowland” that opened on July 17, 1955. The film revolves around Frank Walker played by Academy Award Winning Actor George Clooney (Oceans Eleven, Gravity) who plays an inventor that makes it into a land called Tomorrowland. When things go wrong for Frank and the world is about to be destroyed, an android from Tomorrowland called Athena played by Raffey Cassidy (Dark Shadows) comes to our dimension in order to try to find a person who can save the planet. Athena finally finds a gifted child who eventually crosses paths with Clooney’s character and they embark on a journey to save our planet.

Now let’s talk about the movie. Tomorrowland had my interest for the first and second half, after that the movie went downhill very quickly. The third and final act was rushed and sloppy. It simply lost all of my attention and interest. There are some scenes in the movie where you can see Brad Bird’s great talent but there are other scenes where you feel like you are watching a different movie altogether. That feeling is never a good thing, especially for a huge film such as this one.

As for the acting, let’s start with George Clooney who plays Frank Walker, the solitary scientific genius who decades earlier was heartbroken by Athena and banished from Tomorrowland. Clooney is without a doubt a great actor and here there is no exception to that. Then we have Britt Robertson (The Longest Ride) who plays Casey, a bright teenager who does everything in her power to help her family. Britt on the other hand, has some moments where she shines but during other scenes her performance ends up detracting from the movie. Then we have Hugh Laurie (House, Stuart Little) who played the brilliant leader of Tomorrowland, which was a waste of a great talent. Hugh Laurie was simply not used the way an actor like him should be. His character at times came as annoying and sometimes overacted. Overall even with some really great actors thrown into the mix, none of their performances really stood out to me.

In conclusion, Tomorrowland was a film that had my attention only in certain moments and at times, leaving me feeling like I was watching two different movies due the to constant change of tones. The third act of the film felt like everyone in the film did not care for it anymore or even gave up on it. The consistency of the film was all over the place. Sadly, Tomorrowland was a film with beautiful visuals, good acting, great imagination, but horribly executed which led to the downfall of what could’ve been an amazing film.

Final Score: 6.5/10

Brad Bird really let down with this film, he has made multiple critically and commercial success films. But this film seemed bland and boring. It was really a let down after the trailers that showed true mystery and wonder. The film has great ideas ,but can't correctly show it. I felt in the beginning of the movie I had paid to see a children's movie, but it became a very nice enjoyable fantasy. There were quite a few young children attending who lost interest quickly because there is no way they could understand what was happening. I think all the actors did a great job. I recommend this movie to all who are capable of understanding it. Obviously the ones who scored it low had no clue! I would like to comment about some of the people sending in their opinions. I am shocked at the inability of some who can't conjugate a verb or write a coherent sentence! What kind of education are these idiots getting?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The promise of a better world in the future never looks this good. Setting up Tomorrowland is well-thought. Fictional elements are adaptive to its theme. I came to realize though that even an adult like George Clooney can spark a love scent with a very young pair (the robotic girl) without any stain of malice. The movie is fair enough for a fun-seeking moviegoer. Hello it's Disney! What to expect from a kid-centered franchise? Expand

I had no preconception, no anticipation, and frankly hadn't heard about the film until 2 days prior to release, so I came in with a clean slate.

Tomorrowland is an abundant, multi-course dinner with a few side-orders of mystery. Unfortunately, some of the mystery is without a real purpose. There ARE many, attractive plates on this table, but you won't have time to taste them all...

Still, for all its challenges, this movie is magical, and amazing. I couldn't help being charmed by the innocence and magic of Tomorrowland. Raffey Cassidy as Athena is almost a movie unto herself, as she is a point of light that almost outshines the problems with the story. (There is a point where Athena drives offscreen and the movie just deflates). I also liked Britt Robertson's Casey, intelligent, but not full of herself. No princesses in this Disney film. George Clooney is in a good role, but plays in 3rd place behind the 2 females. Hugh Laurie is basically wasted, especially his ultimately ineffectual demise.

In the end, I enjoyed Tomorrowland as a whole. It is a flight of fancy, and a pretty fancy one at that. Sure, it can be preachy, and shallow, and inexplicable, but it's a heck of a romp! The pure beauty of this unique, though somewhat flawed, gem of a movie is worth seeing, and though I rarely consider seeing movies a 2nd time in the theater, I'm compelled to do just that to get back to Tomorrowland again. I also give it an extra star for both of the female actors. Thank you Brad Bird. Looking forward to the Incredibles 2!

It's a Brad Bird film which means it should have been a 10+. The Michael Jordan of Film Directors, his previous 3 animated films established him in a class above all others. In Tomorrowland, it seems Mr. Bird and company were having an off game. I had read the negative reviews by critics and then more positive reviews by fellow film goers. With all that in mind I was prepared to be both entertained and disappointed. But then as the film got rolling I was convinced that the negative reviews were all part of some conspiracy to undermine a wonderful film about dreaming boldly and bravely making those dreams come true. However well into the second hour I realized the proverbial hot air balloon of wonder was quickly loosing altitude. The ride was almost over and we hadn't gotten to the promised land of innovation and inspiration.

The characters where all very likable, the premise was exciting, but as others have complained there was far too little tomorrowland time or deeper glimpses of what made the supposed special characters special. Ugh. In spite of falling short, did it succeed in inspiring me to dream big and make those dreams happen (maybe making the world a better place)? Maybe, but no more than the 2 minute trailers did. Ok, the scene early in film about the young inventor explaining his jet pack was brilliant, but few further inspired moments followed. Still think the world of Mr. Bird, but as with all heros, realized he is in fact mortal. Maybe next time he'll lose the co-writer and keep it true to his gifted inspired vision.

It has good themes and likeable characters and some fairly decent performances, but I would hardly rush to get this on DVD and more recommend it as a rental. The plot isn’t quite fleshed out enough despite its 2 hour running time and it really needed a better villain. Those are the biggest problems I had with the film, other than that it’s actually kind of enjoyable and I suspect it will be a success with schools breaking up for half term and may even warrant a sequel that I wouldn’t object to seeing. Most of the performances are pretty good though Raffey Cassidy is the only stand out performance and I would say there are worse films coming out in the next few weeks, so you could do a lot worse. Brad Bird, I really like you, but you have made better films!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A very Utopian-type film. Not very inspiring for real-life application.
In this film, Tim McGraw plays a NASA engineer who is soon to be out a job. His daughter (Britt Robertson) sabotages the deconstruction of the launch pad (in hopes he keeps his job a bit longer). Criminal through and through - is this what we need to teach our kids? Be criminals and saboteurs, and everything should work out alright? No, this is incorrect.
Fast forward a few sequences, a pin given by a little girl is only activated by Robertson's character (it seems). The quasi-world she is forwarded to is "Tomorrowland" (like the Disney park world).
Interesting concepts abound here, but George Clooney's character was apparently banished from the world a while ago (and the reasons not revealed until the final act). Hugh Laurie makes an appearance as the overseer to this fake world, ruling with a dictator-like presence.
Everything is sorted out "in-the-nick-of-time", with childhood crushes reconciled and a hurrah of optimism.
Pretty standard flow of movie - main character has something, everyone else tries to take it from her at all costs, and only a crusty old man seems to know the real potential. How law enforcement and common sense fit into this, well, it's a movie!
In summary, a good rental for a few hours escape from the real world. Not much else. Wait for it on Redbox.

I liked it much more than most critics. The most optimistic movie I can think of since Field of Dreams 25 years ago. Nlot quite a visionary movie, not quite a spiritual movie, however if you like Brad Bird, see it. This is great directing in so many ways. He gets uncanny performances out of Clooney and Raffey Cassidy. Cassidy is likely to become a star based on the performance Bird gets out of her here.

The plot features many ironic turns and meta-comments that keep it alive thru most of its run. At the end the villain delivers what is usually the hero's or heroine's speech and this worked well for me. The effects are amazing and top-level all around. At $190 million, much of that is up on the screen for sure.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was so excited for this movie when I saw the trailers and that Brad Bird was directing it. But when I actually saw the movie, I was severely disappointed. Visually, Tomorrowland looks wonderful, due to a nearly $200m budget. However, the plot was a meandering mess, the script was laughable, and for the most part the acting was subpar (apart from Clooney and Laurie's barely memorable performances). You don't even understand what's going on until the last act of the movie. The writing was bad, with thick layers of cheesy worn-out tropes. Not to mention that the film claims that Casey is the young female protagonist, then proceeds to sideline her role to focus on George Clooney's character, and on top of that, the one other strong female character in the film is sacrificed to make him feel better about himself. Ugh. For the most part, there were child actors, so I can't really fault them for not being master thespians. However, I expected more out of Britt Robertson. Clooney acted like he does in every other film, and Hugh Laurie still felt like House. Raffey Cassidy did a very good job for a young actress, even though her character went to waste at the end. I did like the part when Hugh Laurie's character's leg was crushed; I'm assuming that was a tip of the hat to his role as Gregory House. And occasionally, the humor made me chuckle a bit. But overall, this movie was a waste of time and money, both for me and for the makers of the film. Expand

By that I mean tonally and narratively the film tried to be too many things all at once. The film had great special effects, good action sequences, and pretty good acting, but squanders that on a weak narrative and a lack of clarification in general. Let me clarify what I mean, if you watch this movie in a theater you can enjoy yourself, but after you leave the theater and think about the film it won't make much sense. The lack of explanation leads to the film having a weak narrative, weak villains, and an overly complex premise, and a bunch of characters we see but don't understand. That being said the film is still enjoyable, and is loaded with good humor. So if you like funny, action packed, Sci-Fi you may want to check this out, just know the plot won't make sense the more you think about it. Expand

A teen (Britt Robertson) gains access to a dazzling future world and teams up to save it with an exiled inventor (George Clooney, whose boyhood character looks confusingly like her young brother). The brief visits to this incredible place are full of eye-popping visuals and cool creative concepts, but most of the movie takes place in the present day. When director Brad Bird switches on the action, it's lots of fun (even though there's a surprising body count for Disney). The disjointed plot sometimes loses focus and momentum, especially near the talky end. There's lots here to spark the imagination, but at 130 minutes it's too long to maintain the magic. Expand

It was far better than I expected. The two words I think best describing it are optimistic, and engaging. I think that in this day, people don't like optimism so much; they see it as naive. I often see it that way myself. I can be very cynical, and tell myself that is just the way the world is. This movie is very optimistic, but it is not naive. They have an actual, clear point, that I believe is very well made, despite the fact that I can't see the world that way. I think those who say the plot is off, or lacking in substance, simply disagree with the message. One sentence summary of the review: This is an amazing movie, and anyone who has any real interest should definitely see it.

Onto specifics (this is long):

Visually, the movie was very appealing. The CGI was not always spectacular (though it was always very good), but it was always on point, serving its purpose very well. The non cgi stuff was very well done, perhaps better than the cgi. The world was bright and colorful when appropriate, and the opposite when that was appropriate.

The action sequences were very well done, and somewhat more serious than you might expect in a PG Disney movie. There was more weight to them than I expected. Nothing to worry about showing to children, of course, but not dumbed down either.

Coming into this year, I expected my favorite movie would be the second Avengers movie. That was reinforced when I saw it. That said, Tomorrowland is a better movie. It has better acting, more of a point, and is more intellectual. It is also a lot more fun. This is coming from a big-time Joss Whedon fanboy.

My favorite member of the cast was Britt Robertson. She was note perfect the entire time. It wasn't unusual to have her reaction to what was going on around her cause my own. I've liked her for a while, but she far surpassed my expectations.

That said, all of the actors and actresses surpassed my expectations considerably. While that probably means I underestimated them, that is also a major credit to the director, Brad Bird. I didn't know his name before the lead up to this movie, but I looked up what he's directed, which includes The Incredibles and a number of other relatively famous movies, and I think this is easily the best thing he's made.

I would like to make a special note of Raffey Cassidy; most kids can't act. She most definitely can.

I've described this movie as fun and optimistic, but there is definitely some pathos to it. It doesn't try to pretend things are better than they are. The full spectrum of emotions is there. It shows the world in all of its bleakness. It just isn't willing to write us off.

If you've read this far, see it. You'll probably love it, but even if you don't, even if you disagree entirely with its message, it is well worth your time. It was well worth mine.

I had been mentally discounting the critical reviews I had seen. I suspect we all know that the movie is about environmental, ecological, and political instability which seems to be currently ruling the world. Who can complain -- other than a bunch of Congressmen. George Clooney is the lovable liberal, wearing his khakis and sweatshirt, who got exiled from Tomorrowland because he wanted to fix things. Not really a spoiler since it comes up practically in the first minute of the movie. Hugh Laurie is the crabby conservative dressed in his black, sinister, futuristic looking outfit. Let it be known I am philosophically on George's side here.

The movie is boring, preachy, and not very well written. The acting is basically wooden. Britt Robertson qualifies for my special award since she avoids delivering any line in the film at less than a screech, a shout, or a scream. Shut her up, please! "Tomorrowland" seems to me to be preaching to the choir, but we all agree. Not many of the Hugh Laurie-ites will bother to see the movie and if they do, I suspect it will have little-to-no effect on them. Reality doesn't: Why should this preachy movie?

The movie includes, of course, a great deal of CGI. It is poor, really poor. Tomorrowland looks like it was painted on glass in pastel colors. At one point Ms. Robertson seems to be walking right through CGI people. That is not supposed to be happening. The perspective is off and the whole effect is not very believable. I would have called it terrific in 1952.

I did not like "Tomorrowland" -- at all!

For a film to equally excite and entertain all members of the family as this one did is truly something special.
Add to that the wonderful and welcome positive messages of finding good in yourself and others and being the change you want to see in the world (among others). This was not only a visual treat, but a delight in every way from the acting to the storytelling. Look, I can be picky too, but those who are picking on this film must be the ones who didn't get a Tomorrowland pin. (You'll have to see the movie to find out what that means.) :-) ENJOY!

Since I had a good time at the movie, and my kids loved it, I was curious about why so many people hated the movie so very much.

After reading through the negative reviews, I can summarize them with two quotes picked from them "I hate George Clooney" and "This was pure liberal Hollywood claptrap at its worst." Pretty much all the objections ran along one or both those lines—now you don't have to read all those red reviews.

Now if you don't hate George Clooney so much you can't stand to see him take another breath, or if you don't get all your science education from Fox News, then you might enjoy this movie—that is, if your soul hasn't already died…

However,I'm not so sure if I'm going to see Tomorrowland this week. The good news is that director Brad Bird did an impressive job on taking big chances giving George Clooney and Britta Robinson their best performances so far in this film. However, the lacking of the film feels light and after I read the reviews for Tomorrowland, maybe people should've stayed watching Maleficent and/or Cinderella instead and hopefully I could wait for Tomorrowland on DVD. But just like Jupiter Ascending, the hype is the only problem Disney might've gotten misunderstood. I don't know if it's like a children's movie or a sci-fi adventure movie, eventually, there were some minor flaws like the dystopian setting where one girl switches the ring from one town to another as seen in the trailer. The story is just recycled (although not much to say about the dialogue), and I know it's hard to count on a fantastic director behind animated gems like The Incredibles and the aforementioned underrated The Iron Giant. No doubt, he is a great director. But Tomorrowland just fallen short of how a great Disneyland-themed movie that inspired for over 60 fantastic years including Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland. Quite possibly be an underrated moment for Disney, so I should probably have to wait for it o DVD and Blu-Ray. Expand

It's visually limp also; the film's look is a dull grey sheen. The cast is energetic, but no-one really has anything to do except run from one place to the next. I kept waiting for the story to start.

Trivia: the great film editor Walter Murch (Apocolypse Now, Godfather 2) was originally in sole charge of the film's editing and post production. In the end, a Jerry Bruckheimer editor was also credited, which suggests there were big problems putting the thing together.

When itMASTERPIECE. Although it may be way ahead of it's time, Brad Bird's Tomorrowland a masterpiece and a Disney movie that Walt would be proud of, as high caliber family entertainment that is sure to speak to the audience's hearts. When it acomplishes that, a different person comes out of the theater, wondering what can be done to make a better world and a better tomorrow.

The romance element in this movie also sets it apart and will sure be discussed decades and even centuries from now, as "Bird's Forth Law of Robotics" (4. A robot can fall in love), will sure complement Asimov's three laws. Very brave and edgy storytelling from Disney and Bird, that must be praised for their courage and will sure inspire other artists and dreamers alike.

Although I never liked any of Michael Giacchino's previous work, Tomorrowland's OST is absolutely epic and blends perfecty with the storytelling, making the Tomorrowland experience complete and full of character, with a vibrant and heroic score that sticks to your mind and heart.

If this movie manage to inspire a single kid to become a great engineer, a scientist or a great artist, Brad Bird's mission is acomplished. As a movie, it not only entertains, but truly inspires, if you want to hear the beautiful message and promise that is Tomorrowland.

This movie is a mess.

It starts off with "surly old man Clooney" yelling at the camera and doesn't get much better.

While the flashbacks to the Clooney character's childhood take us (for about 10 minutes) into the wiz-bang Popular Mechanics retro-future stuff promised in the trailer, the majority of the movie is just a rambling roadshow of mundane shoot-em-ups, explosions and characters yelling at each other while looking confused or (in Clooney's case) angry.

There's also the problem of the overall mixed message. "Don't worry about about the impending apocalypse folks but don't ignore it either cause that would be bad."

The children in the theater seemed to enjoy the parts where people fell down or ran into things so maybe that's the intended audience but for me, Tomorrowland isn't worth the trip.

"Tomorrowland" is not terrible, just disappointing. The film preaches but never earns its forward-thinking optimism with a weak script, undercooked plot, and let's-make-it-up-as-we-go-along action and technology that fails to establish a believable universe.

Here's a tip, Mr. Lindelof: when you're writing a mostly humorless, exposition-filled, "mystery box" plot, it's essential to reward your audience for their patience. But when the third act of this bizarrely violent PG film rolls about, it just kind of lays there until the credits roll. If he stuck the landing, this might have been a 6 or 7. But that was not the case. I felt totally cheated by it.

The saddest thing is, the performances are great (especially Robertson and Cassidy, and it's amazing how well these young performers keep the film afloat) and a few of the VFX sequences are stunning, but the film betrays the importance and complexity of its themes by sledge-hammering one very specific message into the audience's skull, a message that ends up being conveniently supported by the happenings of the plot... because reasons.

Just... UGH. The potential was totally there, but the script was not. Can you imagine what someone like Bradbury, Sagan, Kubrick, Cronenberg, Tarkovsky, Gilliam, or Roddenberry could have done with this very same premise?? It coulda been a contender. It coulda been something.

I'll admit that Brad Bird and Disney's corporate department share a great deal of the fault here, but I see "Tomorrowland" as proof of Lindelof's ineptitude. It shows you can hand him what's essentially a writer's dream - a Futurist blank slate with a blockbuster budget and a rich potential for thematic depth - and he could still find ways to turn it into a one-dimensional non-sequitur that leaves you with the equivalent of cinematic blue balls. NYU should revoke his diploma. Mofo needs to be booted from Hollywood before his dumb*** ruins everything by association. Maybe he should try writing YouTube videos because clearly he doesn't know how to write a movie.

In the words of Immortan Joe, I dub this one "MEDIOCRE!!!"

This had a good trailer and a great premise, and we're given practically nothing that was promised to us. Tomorrowland is focused on a teenage girl who receives a mysterious pin that, when touched, will bring her to a futuristic utopia where nothing is impossible. It would have been nice if the movie was ACTUALLY about that. Instead, the girl, Casey, is only there for about the last 10 minutes of the film. What this movie is really about is saving the world from the apocalypse which is caused by, and I'm not joking, pessimism. Just from that, you can tell this is gonna be one preachy movie. I do wanna say that the acting is top-notch, the special effects are beautiful, and it is an overall entertaining movie. The message of optimism is a great one, but after about 20 minutes, it becomes aggravating how much the movie has to hammer that theme in. That's really Tomorrowland's biggest problem: the movie is more concerned with telling us to "just be optimistic" as opposed to telling a cohesive and intelligent story. Many plot points are introduced and completely forgotten by the next scene, and there are many instances where the story will just rush past a potentially important event just so that the characters can tell us even more about optimism and the future of the world. I really don't understand why the trailers seemed like they were trying to hide some big plot element. What they were actually hiding from us was that this movie isn't very good. Expand

I was charmed by the retro look of the opening scenes at the 1964 World's Fair (I remember that, and it was pretty close to the remembered reality). One of the best things about the movie is the uncanny resemblance between the actor who plays a young Frank Walker and George Clooney, who plays him as an adult. As sci-fi movies go, this was pretty tame, although there were a few neat special effects (a particular favorite being the multi-level swimming pools). The premise behind the movie, that we affect the future by our attitude is something worth thinking about, "Faux" news aside. Other than a rather gruesome visit to a hobby shop, there isn't much that is scary in the movie, so it would be okay for younger kids (age 7 and up, I'd say). For adults, well, you have to arrest your analytical mind for a bit to just enjoy the movie at face value (not always easy to do, I admit). But to share it with a younger person, who finds it charming and exciting and rich with possibilities...? Well, that made the viewing worthwhile. If you don't have a younger friend to bring with you, you might just want to skip this one. But don't forget the message: we all need to work together to ensure the future of the planet! Expand

You may go deaf from the amount of times you have to hear "Tomorrowland's" thematic message, but - in spite of that - some fun set pieces and entertaining performances ultimately make the film worth the watch.

The review of tomorrow.

The story is about a pair of geniuses - one a bright, optimistic teen, the other a former boy-genius-turned-jaded adult - happen to share the same destiny - one that leads to a place outside time and space and into their collective memories - a place called Tomorrowland.

So I just seen Tomorrowland and I got to say that I'm a bit disappointed, but judging it on a visual experience the movie was pretty decent. I had high expectations going in and why wouldn't I be the the first teaser trailer really hooked me in with it's magically new world and the films storytelling. Now I don't think this is a bad, I was just a bit let down and I know there's probably going to be some people out there that are trying to confidence me that this is brilliant movie just like what some people did when I said Chappie was the biggest let of the year and it still is.

Brad Bird turned down Star Wars Episode 7 to do this movie and straight away I though that this movie was going to be great, because Brad Bird is a great director and he made the best Mission Impossible movie to date. And in this movie Brad Bird does get all of his creative vision out on the screen and Tomorrowland looks absolutely stunning to watch. Brad did what he can for what he had to work on and at least this is a original story and Brad Bird took a huge risk by saying no to Star Wars just because he wanted to do a original story. Nicely done Brad.

George Clooney was the only thing worth watching in this movie, because he did good in the movie and his character was the only interesting thing in the whole movie. This time he wasn't just playing the George Clooney, he actually played a character this time and a interesting one.

The visual effect's in the movie worked perfectly in a way to show this future place known as Tomorrowland and it's nothing like Avatar where every single thing is CG and you feel that Avatar creative ideas came from better well done movies, so Avatar is a underrated copy cat of a film, at least in Tomorrowland it creates it's own original environment and made it look like a place that anyone can go to, and that's call Disneyland.

Now for problems and sadly these a lot: Britt Robertson as Casey got a bit on my nerves a little bit, and I got nothing against the actress she's good in the movie, but I just didn't care about her as a character.

The other character I didn't really care about Athena played by Raffey Cassidy. Just like what I said about Casey I didn't really care about her story ark.

The villain of the movie was pretty lame and weak, when the movie did the big twist by showing the villain I already sawed it coming minutes ago.

The third act of the movie really brought the movie down for me, because the first and second act was pretty solid but the third was the most bloated cop out I've seen this year and it ended so disappoint.

Overall Tomorrowland is a alright movie but the reason why I found it disappoint is because I expected something big and something great I mean that's what the movie was trying to be in the trailer's. The movie is different and I always like different movies that try to be something else, and I give the movie that.

We commend the Disney marketing department for their restraint with a strategy that avoids endless “leaks” and spoilers thereby protecting the film’s mystery and the 1st time movie-going experience, take note Marvel & Lucasfilm and other “Tent-pole” movie makers.

Needless to say ‘Tomorrowland’ is visually impressive layering the best CGI money can buy into a design aesthetic inspired by the Disneyland attraction and based on a view of the future from a 1950s perspective, somewhat “Jetsons” like.

The heart of the film however is the story and tone and that’s where Bird starts to trip over his own ambition, ‘Tomorrowand’ is essentially a story championing the creative and restless over the apathetic in this world, it bends over backwards to drill the audience with the message that the “dreamers” will change the world and hope will conquer all.

Naive but refreshing and commendable for a Disney family film to try and tackle, but if the constant preaching and morality tale wrapped up in a bow gets tedious for mature audiences what about the rest of the family?

There’s a lot going on storywise and it’ll be easy for the message to be drowned out by the visuals and tangents which make the story disjointed, particularly for younger audiences, and it’s hard to excuse some of the convenient narrative as Disney fantasy when they’re invoking actual theoretical physics to wrap-up high-minded concepts of space and time into this fantastical tale, Disney’s ill-conceived attempt at ‘Interstellar’ perhaps.

The Bottom Line…
A little disappointing given the mystery surrounding it and certainly not a game-changer, ‘Tomorrowand’ is nevertheless a bold filmmaking leap by Disney and a visually impressive and highly original if not overly memorable cinematic experience.

Tomorrowland is not bad but it is just didn't live up to my or our expectations. It is an adventure movie. The movie is all about the journey not the destination that we saw in the trailer and I think it is okay but I am not interested. The movie has a lot of effort,It is a beautiful film and George Clooney did his best to be the character that he signed up for The Characters are good but the plot is just so predictable and it is also bland.

This movie lives on the line between boring and barely watch-able. It felt like a high budget made for TV Disney movie. It's non-cohesive, uninteresting, and without an contains a number of token action setpeices.

But, it is all show, and lacks substance. First of all, Tommorowland is cliched to the max, plot twists are predictable, and the story is peppy and bubbly futuristic vibe. George Clooney gives a masterful performance, and Britt Robinson gives a good perfromance too. The worst part of Tommorowland is that it doesnt live up to the hype that it had. Brad Bird instead gave us a beautiful movie, but had no good film underneath that layer. Tommorowland is inspired by Disney's famous theme park, and there is a slight vibe added to it. There is Hugh Laurie as a maniac though. Sadly, it is a let down, but if you admire creativity, give this a watch. Expand

Tomorrowland's language is that of an adult, not shying from cursing, yet the story is rather basic and architypal, predictable plot that doesn't tie all loose ends together like the average children's movie where not everything needs to be explained because the kids don't necessarily need explanation. The entire point of the movie isn't even made clear until the last half hour of the movie, with the rising action, climax, and conclusion all occurring in this last segment using reserved for the third act. The movie starts a bit confusing, with 2 of the 3 main leads giving a tiny bit of exposition, and then showing you some backstory for George Clooney's character before dropping you into the main story. From there, we meet a young woman who finds a pin dropped into her belongings by a mysterious young girl. From there, the story becomes a highly original and great one, while sometimes a bit messy. One key detail to not about this movie is that despite it being named "Tomorrowland", the titular place is just the main point everything else happens because of. It's more about getting there than being there, and the final act does suffer a bit because of it. All 3 main actors play their roles amazingly, which is a treat considering 2 of them are children. The special effects are also very well done, and the movie uses them to add some very needed twists on typical sci-fi tropes such as lasers and teleporters. Overall, I'd say this movie is very worth the trip, even if the destination, while still fun, isn't quite the payoff you'd think. Expand

However, it's a huge let down that despite the efforts, creativity and imagination of Brad Bird and his team, it's still hard to understand the reason to focus large portion on the earth rather than in the futuristic world they've crafted. At Disney's level, the idea of the plot is ambitious but sadly it starts to lost its direction at the very beginning and the tone as the story develops seems to be uneven, even the final act of the villain himself is wasted without proper addressing of intention and ended up in a disappointing formulaic way. Performances of Brittany Robertson and Raffey Cassidy are charming and entertaining together with the presence of George Clooney though his appearance seems to be involved in some lame action scenes, the musics from Michael Giacchino are beautiful and full of dreams but all of these are unable to save the flaws of this pointless story telling about the importance of being hopeful, optimistic and inspirational. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What actually could have been like a toy box movie just turned into a cliche movie that really is 40 years too late. The movie is a fun movie for a good majority until you actually get to Tomorrowland. Then the movie just falls flat and down the rabbit hole until I was uninterested. The acting was great and all (even for George Clooneh. Aka most overrated actor). Though the story turns into a cliche mess of themes we've seen and then they beat you over the head with it. I like it, I really enjoyed watching it for the acting and the adventure.
The acting was really well. Britt Robertson was pretty great (although some of the dialogue was poorly done), Goerge Clooney final didn't step in the same shoes to act the same way he always does, and the best acting came from Raffey Cassidy. This is the first time I've seen a kid that dint annoy the living **** out of me. She was great and really the star of the movie in my opinion. Her pose and complete skill at taking over the screen was fantastic. Also for an actress to only play in two parts previous is astonishing.
The premise is great and really shows how wonderful the movie would have been. This could have been trike a toy box. Creating this Tomorrowland in your head. What is this place and why is it so cool, *spoiler* Thiugh when we arrival is when everything goes to ****.
We see that everyone is gone there and only a few are left. We then see this plot that the world is ending from global warming and disaster. We see the same message that humans are greedy and that we basically did this to ourselves. So Tomorrowland builds a machine to show people their future to make sure they don't keep going no done the same path of destruction they are set on. I get that. Then why is Tomorrowland empty? Never explain where everyone went. So the end evil guy is just going let earth die because he thinks that they've done this to themselves. Though some how the machine that tells everyone the future or a glimpse of it is the one at fault. The evil guy doesn't want them to destroy for no reason explained. Trending is sort of rushed with no real purpose. Evil guy dies and then they have to change the mind set of people on earth. Also to rebuild Tomorrowland. Though there should be no reason to do so. My did everyone leave. Someone explain.
Overall the movie was well done, the visuals were gear, acting even better, etc. Thouh what we are left with is a sloppy storyline and even sloppier finish. What could have been great turned into a short of mediocre mess. 6.5.
