One of my all time favorite movies as a kid and it still holds up today.

I watched a special edition with all the extra scenes and it makes it a whole experience that doesn't feel like any of the characters is left out to dry you get all the good character interaction and boromir a gets the scene. He needs to be a likable sad Guy.

The visuals are still amazing. It looks so good. There are some scenes where they use 3D puppets and character for a meme guy in the minds that I ice couldn't not look at but all the other things look amazing and the painting they used in the background and special effects and many sneaky ways they used the camera as to make the hobbits look smaller than they are.

actors amazing job they made this story with is a bit hokey and cringe sometimes but they sell it it never feels cringe it feels so honest and believable despite. How old fashioned fantasy it is.

I have watched this movie a lot of times and I still tear up at some points. I still get emotional and if I still do that that means that the movie still has a lot of value and sentimental abilities and honest and wholesome and friendly bromance between every character is what I need.

It's a franchise from my childhood, I'm certainly not that old. But when I was 8, I turned on this amazing movie. I really liked the picture, the atmosphere, and the plot. I'm looking forward to a good video game in Middle-earth.

Director Peter Jackson's attention to detail, stunning visuals, and remarkable performances from the cast create an immersive and unforgettable journey to Middle-earth.

From the breathtaking landscapes to the intricate costumes and make-up, every aspect of this film is carefully crafted to transport viewers into J.R.R. Tolkien's epic world. The story of Frodo Baggins and his journey to destroy the One Ring is told with such precision and care that it's impossible not to become fully invested in the fate of Middle-earth.

The performances of the cast are simply outstanding, with Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, and Viggo Mortensen delivering some of the most memorable performances in film history. Howard Shore's score adds an extra layer of emotion to every scene, capturing the grandeur and danger of Middle-earth.

I have watched The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring so many times, and each time I am still captivated by its beauty and power. This is a film that deserves to be seen and cherished by generations to come. It truly deserves a perfect score of 10/10.

Its first volume, like the other two, has earned a colossal success as what it genuinely deserves. It has been nominated as well as acquired numerous sets of awards – proof of its extraordinaire quality, one can say. Nonetheless, it is indeed worth watching, for it is a one-in-a-million obra maestra. As a prime testament, the plot, graphics, cinematography, and the ensemble cast are noteworthy. It transcended the people’s expectations and the “standard.” The storyline is simply phenomenal. And in regard to its visuals, even with small CGI used, it is exceptionally good to the eye, especially with its ably-detailed, well-designed and proficiently-crafted studio backgrounds, props, and wardrobes, not to mention, the real settings. Furthermore, the iconic characters are played by outstanding actors (Elijah Wood as Frodo, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, etc.) which makes the acting and scenes more memorable, and impactful. Besides, it contains good humor, too - from the characters, especially the Dwarf. It is convincing that each one’s individual and group performances connect us to the characters deeper and let us feel all sorts of emotions such as happiness, pain, sorrow, and nostalgia – which is great.
Also, its musical scores bring you excitement, at the same time, tranquility. They’re all “musically complex, with certain themes constantly winding in and out of individual pieces to reinforce motifs and emotion.” (Cummins, 2018) Somehow, we, the audience, are manipulated and unknowingly make us dive into the screen with these serene splashes of sounds – an ideal match in an entertainment. And although this story is fictional, the messages, and the circumstances in the story depict realities in life. As it unfolded, it revealed a lot of lessons that are relevant in our lives. One of them can be reflected in the quote of the character named Gandalf, who said that “All we must decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” It reminds us of how abstract our lives can be in a lifetime. Truly, the movie has always been popular with the general audience, may it be from kids to adults, because it is undeniably a great piece of art. The nuggets of wisdom that could be acquired in this film are tremendous, and watching it multiple times will surely make you say that it never gets old. It is even getting more interesting, in the second time around for one could see more intricate details of the movie that you might have missed before. For me, to put all of it simply, on a scale of 1-10, this film is a perfect one hundred. And if one haven’t watched it yet, what all we can say is “You missed a half-cycle of your life, my precious.”

A less accomplished filmmaker than Peter Jackson would have jumped right into the Party and left the audience hopelessly disoriented because Lord of the Rings is a highly intricate film. Peter Jackson, however, refrained from doing so. He created a fantastic prologue with Cate Blanchett's mesmerising voice that truly provides all the information required. The instant she said, "The world has altered," I thought, I anticipated it would be a treat. Expand

Too bad that the film in its entirety of its duration is too slow and too poor in events so as to be too long-winded prequel of what will later be the real film, and this is a great shame as the characters are very beautiful and very well presented. , but the whole is suffocated by the extreme slowness with which everything, including things with more action, happens. For heaven's sake the film is very nice and the settings are also breathtaking and this is a great positive note to the whole, even the story is compelling but as the first chapter it is really too slow. Peter Jackson's trilogy mayn't be necessarily true to them, but it does have the memorable characters, the epic story and enchanting atmosphere that the books do. The Fellowship of the Ring is probably the weakest of the three, but it is a very solid start. It is I agree slower in pace to the other two, and there are some talky scenes that drag it down a tad.

However, I cannot deny that this is a great film. One of the many strong assets of this picture are the visuals. The cinematography is marvellous, the costumes are splendid, the effects are great, the makeup is immaculate and the scenery is fantastic especially with Rivendell which was like a Utopia. There is also the score, what an amazing score. As much as I do like Howard Shore, his scoring for the Lord of The Rings trilogy is his most memorable for me and probably his most complex as well. There are so many beautiful and haunting parts here, sometimes even at the same time, as well as the charming Hobbits theme, the ethereal theme played while at Rivendell and the sinister bombastic sounds while at Mordor.

Now I am not going to say that Peter Jackson is a bad director or an outstanding director, but he has directed some wonderful films especially Heavenly Creatures, and this is no exception, where he does a very capable job directing. The story still has its epic scope, with standouts being the confrontation between Gandalf and Sarouman, the scene in the mines with Balrok and Boromir's death scene. I also liked the pursuit of Frodo and Arwyn and Frodo with the Black Riders which was beautifully shot. Then there is the dialogue, which on the whole is excellent, Gandalf in my personal opinion gets the best of it.

And the acting is very good. I do think Frodo is developed more in the sequels than here, but Elijah Wood does do a likable enough job here, while Sean Astin's bumbling yet well meaning persona suits Sam well. Cate Blanchett is a lovely Galadriel, and Liv Tyler is stunning as Arwyn. And then there is Christopher Lee, whose presence always ensures that the performance is going to be good, and indeed it was, and Ian Holm is very good as Bilbo. Sean Bean also does well with Boromir, and John Rhys Davies is a welcome presence. Aragorn like Frodo is developed more in the sequels than here, here he is more brooding and charismatic above all else. Not a bad thing really, as Viggo Mortenssen does do that very well. The standout though is Ian McKellen, who is an absolute revelation as Gandalf, the delivery to the camera, the delivery of the lines, perfectly judged. In fact the only real weak link in the cast is Orlando Bloom, yes he is dashing and handsome, but in the process he does come across as a little uncharismatic and bland.

In conclusion, a great start. 9/10 Bethany Cox

Where in the world, excuse me, Middle-Earth do I begin to talk about Peter Jackson’s attestation of adapting J.R.R Tolkein’s fantasized novels into a staggering motion picture? We are introduced to an origin story and a wealthy environmentWhere in the world, excuse me, Middle-Earth do I begin to talk about Peter Jackson’s attestation of adapting J.R.R Tolkein’s fantasized novels into a staggering motion picture? We are introduced to an origin story and a wealthy environment known as the home of the hobbits: the Shire. It is homogeneous of the North Pole, where all the residents/ Hobbits are diminutive and humane, visited by the great wizard Gandalf, who is twice their size and a facsimile of Santa Claus who is not always with the Hobbits. Although the Hobbits have no scrutiny in their world or make presents, they work in their homes to grow tillages for the sake of their environment. Concluding Bilbo’s birthday, who is the chairman of the Shire, Gandalf seeks suspicion from a sacred ring that has been in possession of Bilbo for decades.

I often look forward to three-hour films because of the amount of details I can acknowledge, as well as its certitude to keep me busy. However, I feel skeptical about the pacing of films that are this long because the pacing of entertainment makes us want to stay and watch, or walkout midway. Thankfully this entire story is not coalesced into one flick because you would need a whole day off to watch it all in theaters with a five to ten-minute restroom break in between each film. What is tricky about starting a film or a franchise in general is the ability to set it up in a way that is unique for the audience to dig.

Director Peter Jackson was assigned to shoot these films in his hometown of New Zealand and he used its exquisite hilly landscapes to integrate them into his fantasized style of Middle Earth. Jackson’s direction is very thorough that it is like he will make you feel captivated in the alluring film for three hours. He has invited many actors from half a lap around the planet in the United Kingdom to make this gargantuan project as well as the Hollywood veterans Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, and Liv Tyler, who all have very witty English accents. As a build-up chapter in this extraordinary trilogy, there are only two people who can pull off this kind of art: Peter Jackson’s vivid fantasy imagination, and Howard Shore’s godly soundtrack that is near impossible to surpass in terms of reception and makes you feel surrounded by an ambushing patrol ready to put you on thin air.

The books are full to the brim with stories, characters, lore and world building. It is a challenge to adapt these to the screen and I would have a hard time to do it. To clarify this: Not everything from a book can be adapted to a different medium and even with 3 long movies they have to make sacrifices. Tolkien takes a lot of hearth and soul into explaining and describing things. Just as example there is a long chapter about Hobbits at the beginning even including pipe-weed and it takes far longer until Frodo even starts his journey. That does not mean on the other hand that I wanted not more content from the books. For example nearly every reade of the book including me would like to see Tom Bombadil as he is a fun character, a mystery and probably one of the most powerful beings in Middle-Earth (many say he would be the last being to fall to Sauron). Other things were changed too but it total I would say it is a loyal adaptation as the jump to a different medium has its price and not everything could fit in. The adaptation makes also some improvements that I will admit. For example Arwen has practically no role / room in the book “The Fellowship of the Ring” and it is only indirectly (and also very shortly) mentioned that Aragon and Arven are a thing. Also Boromir’s struggles are far better laid out and comes less surprising as in the book. Story set up: Thousands of years ago the dark Lord Sauron forged his “One Ring” to increase his powers tremendously and for getting control of the other Rings of power. In a dire a great battle humans, elves and dwarfs aligned and Sauron was defeated when his ring was cut of his hand as it holds a lot of his power (or essence / soul energy?). However as long as the ring exists Sauron is not truly death. It will take him a long time to recover but when he would get the Ring back there is probably nothing that can stop him except a full divine godly intervention. In the present the former Hobbit adventurer Bilbo Baggins (See “The Hobbit” for details) is preparing his 111 birthday party and wants to leave after that for a last adventure giving all his inheritance to his nephew and heir Frodo. This includes a ring he has found many years earlier on said adventure. However his visiting friend the wizard Gandalf the Grey has a suspicion about the ring. With this the epic heroes journey starts. The story is excellent and fully delivers. It is building up the tension, sets up the characters, world and lore while being fully entertaining. Characters. Rarely have I see such a good and fitting cast. Nearly everyone became my definitive version of the characters and they are all convincing. Lets start with the Hobbits. Elijah Wood is amazing as Frodo and Sean Astin is probably even better as Sam. Billy Boyd as Peregin (Pippin) and Dominic Monaghan as Meriadoc (Merry) deliver a good and praiseworthy performance too. They are a bit changed compared to the books (A bit more comic relive and a bit more troublemakers). Then we have our favorite trio with Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn, John Rhys Davis as Gimli and Orlando Bloom as Legolas. I don't think we could get a cast that works better together than these 3. It ends not there as Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Sean Bean as Borromir and Christopher Lee as Saruman also fully deliver. I end it here as I would need to praise the whole cast which is to long for the review. Presentation: The settings are so visually impressive. Various beautiful locations in New Zealand were used and the results are amazing. It is no wonder that tourism has vastly increased because of the movies. Not many movies can compete in this regard. Then there are the special effects. The Hobbits were filmed in real scale and the set to proper size and there is Gollum which is as much praise worthy for the effects and Andy Serkis. The CGI looks often so believable that you often do not notice its use. The soundtrack is also a masterpiece and it enhances the atmosphere and scenes. There is nothing to criticize here. Lastly I want to praise director Peter Jackson and the producers for putting so much care and effort into the movie. Overall this is an adaptation were a lot of work, hearth and soul was put into. It is a great and satisfying movie and a must see as is the whole trilogy. Expand

And that was probably an excellent decision. It has been a year since I have watched these and since the story is distributed among all the three movies, I have decided that I will talk about something unique each of them. In total these movies clock over 10 hours, and I can imagine how much the fans of the book must have loved it when they learnt they are getting so much content from a book they love reading so much.

The Fellowship of the Ring is the very first one of the movies which basically kickstarts the adventure. It is amazing to see how much content this movie has in spite of the fact that the entire backstory was narrated in the first two minutes of the beginning. There are a lot of things to talk about in this. The movie created a font style, a score and a colour palette that fits along with the scenes of the battle that made it look so suspenseful. As the scene was going on I was very attentive to hear everything that happens throughout. And this was just the first two minutes of the 3 hour movie.

Afterwards the scene transitioned to the otherwise peaceful Hobbiton. It was a very interesting transition, that showed how on one hand the races are fighting each other for getting control over the Middle Earth, while on the other hand there are a bunch of peace loving Hobbits who are just into their day to day lives. They always have very wholesome reactions when they see Gandalf, which is the reason why it creates a stark contrast from what is about to happen after they leave Hobbiton. Although Bilbo was a good friend of Gandalf and Gandalf had come all the way to celebrate his birthday, he didn't feel that Bilbo was a trustworthy person because he was also attached to the ring. As a result he decided to send his nephew Frodo, his friend Sam and two other Hobbits to help dispose of the ring.

The ring is something I'd like to talk about here, since in this movie the ring and its effects have been talked about the most. The ring is something that appeals to anyone who has desires, but once it is worn it ends up tormenting the wearer. The subtle message it sends us is the consequence of a moment's greed. Not everyone has the ability to hold their temptation, which is why the Hobbits are specifically sent to dispose of it. Frodo himself has the urge to wear it twice, the reason being that he wanted to save himself. At one moment he wears it accidentally during a bar fight, which makes him see the Eye of Modor and makes him vulnerable. If one is able to get over their desires and focus on what makes their life easy, there will be no need of such temptations. This is what the ring tells us.

And afterwards they go to Rivendell which is simply said, the most beautiful place I have ever seen in any movie! Over there they create The Fellowship of the Ring, which goes to destroy the ring in the lava at the Mountain of Doom. Now I won't get too much into the story since I want to keep this review spoiler-free, so I'm just gonna talk about how beautiful all the scenes from this movie are. Seeing them reminded me of my childhood, reading nursery rhymes and fairy tales. I always looked at the pictures and imagined this is what those places must have looked like. Every location from this movie looks like it could be one of those 19th century paintings. It's amazing to see such places are still left in this world that have not been destroyed as of yet.

The movie, or should I say the trilogy, has really gone hard with the details. They chose to make the maps, the fonts, the detailed lore, all the cities from the Middle Earth and even the easter eggs which added a lot of lore to the movie. Every scene from the movie looks like a painting, which is not something which can be said about most adventure fantasy movies. It has the feeling of an RPG game to it, or at least that's how I feel it. It's something of a Skyrim of all movies. For the fans this must have felt like a dream coming true. Things like these should be made for all fantasy movies, which have begun looking underworked simply because of the existence of this movie.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is not a movie that I may want to watch again because of how long it was and the fact that it is nothing in itself unless the other two parts are also combined, but this is also for a good thing because of the fond memories that this movie has left for me. Personally this was the most memorable movie for me among the trilogy. It was because of how rich and detailed this movie was that gave me the confidence of watching the other two movies as well, something I rarely do otherwise. There are many iconic movies like The Godfather, Jurassic Park and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs which I did like, but they didn't give me the courage to continue. This is going to be one of those classical movies that I'd remember for life.

Magnificent! A great start to the franchise.

'The Lord of the Rings' is yet another film series that I am incredibly late to viewing, at least I've finally got around to it... albeit almost twenty years on from this film's release.

'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' is delightful. I never know what to expect from a film that goes on for nearly three hours, the pacing has to be near perfection for it to work - and boy does it here. The run time flew by, which is always a terrific sign.

I love a load of things about this, the one that actually sticks out most is the outstanding score. Music can play a huge part in how much I enjoy a film, so I'm delighted to say that the score is here is fantastic. That is by no means the only positive, obviously.

The cast are excellent. Elijah Wood gives a strong performance in the lead role. I've seen Wood in others things down the years and have actually found him a bit hit-and-miss, but here he is very good. Elsewhere, I really enjoyed watching Viggo Mortensen's character.

Away from those two, there are a whole host of noteworthy cast members. Orlando Bloom, or Will Turner to me, is involved, as are the likes of Ian McKellen and Sean Bean. I also liked Liv Tyler in her role.

The look of the film is spectacular, and has aged extremely well even to this day. Everything from the cinematography to the costumes is brilliant, those two things really make the film come alive - helped by the aforementioned score, of course.

Very eager to check out the sequels, prequels and, eventually, the upcoming television series.

Sauron was not defeated by dumb accident. He was overpowered and thrown to the ground, and then Isuldur cut the ring from his hand. Further, I did not like actor choices for some of the characters or their acting, namely Frodo, or any of the Hobbits for that matter. I struggled to watch the scenes with Hobbits, and those were many. Maybe Sam would have been ok with different Frodo. Ian Mckellen was kind of okay as Gandalf, but I wish Sean Connery had accepted the role. I did not like Vigo Mortensen for Aragorn, especially since "Carlito's Way" was still fresh in my mind, and I don't like him now either. The rest of the movie(s) is ok I guess, and that's the best I can say. Actors playing Elrond, Galadriel, and Saruman saved the day, and the rest of the cast were decent enough. Expand

You can then'The Lord of the Rings' is one of my favorite books, I have read it several times, and remember thinking the last time, about 3 years ago that if I made a film I'd want to make it of this, but wouldn't it be almost impossible. You can then imagine how strong my expectations were when I went to see the eagerly awaited first installment.

This film impressed me hugely, more than anything else because of how true it was to my imagination, both in the characters as well as in the effects and setting- a sentiment I have heard consistently from other fans of the books. Elijah Wood brought across the character of Frodo with the kind of haunted, frail courage that Tolkien captures so well in the books. Nor could I find any fault at all with Ian McKellan's Gandalf, Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn, and Sean Bean's Boromir, all of whom I thought were portrayed excellently. I could pick out instances where I did think, 'no, that's not right', however their seldomness in number would only serve to illustrate the excellence of the overall portrayal. One thing that did stand out for me was Cate Blanchett's performance as Galadriel, the part itself became so perfunctory in the film that to me her alternation between benevolent seer, and figure of potential terror seemed little more than a slightly confusing detour with no real connection into the plot other than as a vehicle for a glimpse into the future. But that was it.

I thought that the points where Jackson did deviate from the text were completely the correct ones to do so. Shortening the opening Shire scenes and cutting out the whole Tom Bombadil bit was great since frankly they bored me slightly in the book anyway. Also, expanding the role of Arwen was a sensible decision.

However this film is by no means above criticism. The dialogue was in my opinion terrible and purely there to drive on the plot. Normally this would ruin a film for me (as in "The Matrix"), making it almost intolerable to view, however fortunately here it proves little more than a minor irritation. Also, the film seemed overall to be excessively plot-driven and at times a mad dash from one action scene to another, the characters, for all their truth to the book did seem flat and sometimes little more than stereotypical fantasy characters. This is perhaps my major quarrel with the film- I would have liked these characters to have come alive as people in a way that was made impossible by the sparseness of the script and the rollercoaster nature of the plot. In general the whole film lacked the depth of context that I think distinguishes Tolkien from other fantasy writers. However to have achieved this would have required a very different movie, and you can't fault an action film for being an action film.

This movie is undoubtedly not for everyone. A lot of people just don't get fantasy- other than Lord of the Rings, I don't particularly either. However in my opinion Jackson really has made an incredible achievement- his and Tolkien's vision carried through suberbly by a breathtaking setting and stunning special effects, as well as by a cast clearly as enthralled as he was. He has taken on a huge task, and is dealing with it with breathtaking success. Check for other user comments.

The movie's got a brilliant plot, it's pretty much about this young hobbit, who's called Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) he ends up finding the one ring that belongs to the Dark Lord Sauron.

So, he begins his journey with eight companions to a place called Mount Doom, this is pretty much the only place where the ring can be destroyed.

The cast are all honestly amazing as their characters throughout this movie and all of the dialogue from the characters feels natural and it doesn't feel forced at all.

Also, the movie's got some beautifully smooth cinematography from Andrew Lesnie. The way he's shot this movie is honestly beautiful and he captures the scenes brilliantly.

The action sequences throughout this movie are very clever, violent and very unique and they're all showcased pretty well throughout this movie.

The movie's even got a beautifully composed score from Howard Shore, it's composed so well and it's such a beautiful soundtrack.

Finally, all of the orcs look very rough and very gruesome throughout this movie but I actually adore the way they look throughout this movie, it really adds to their characters.

Overall, Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring is honestly a masterpiece and a half. It's got a brilliant plot, amazing characters, very good dialogue, beautiful cinematography, very clever and very violent action sequences. The movie's even got some very gruesome looking orcs and a score which is beautifully composed.

I'd honestly recommend this movie, if you enjoy fantasy/action movie's with a brilliant plot, amazing acting, very clever and very unique action sequences. This is the movie for you, it's honestly worth the watch.

I've recently re-watched 'The Lord of the Rings trilogy' and 'Alien' during quarantine, so the news of Ian Holm passing hit me the hardest. It would have been anywhere if I did not re-watch those movies. An excellent actor with extraordinary range as he slipped into different and complex characters so effortless. It's something I never thought about until now that the man who played a cold, yet calculated android in 'Alien', played the warm heart, but deeply troubled Bilbo Baggins, who also played the tight and rough chief from 'Ratatouille'.

With a filmography like: 'Alien', 'The Lord of the Rings', 'The Fifth Element', 'Chariots of Fire', 'From Hell', 'Ratatouille', 'Lord of War', and 'Time Bandits'. Man, what a life.

A brilliant presence that fitted every genre.

RIP Ian Holm.

"Until our next meeting.”

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy is the greatest trilogy of all time, and all the movies are one of the best films ever made, and that's saying a big thing for movies released in the 2000s. You can simply put any of them on top if you rank the 3 films, and whichever film at the bottom won't actually be last, it's still one of the finest movies ever made. But the first one is the best according to me. From an epic premise, really good costumes and makeup, seamless dialogue of a great script, amazing visual effects and sets along with some of the best camerawork I have seen, this is a stunning movie. The storytelling is fantastic and the epic scope of the film never feels forced. It's also filled with a fine performance by Sir Ian Mckellen and great direction from Peter Jackson. It never really shows a full-scaled battle until the Mines Of Moria more than halfway in, but still manages to engaging and enthralling. When the battle does come, it's handled expertly, with the mix of CGI and practical effects devastatingly efficient. The ending is heart-wrenching, as at the end of 3 hours of sensational viewing, you realize the journey has just begun. This should have also swept the oscars like Return Of The King did. Expand

As such, everyone has a shadow self that needs to be explored. Frodo has Gollum, Gandalf has Saruman etc. Archetypes include the hero, the Wiseman, as well as exploring dark forests (the unconscious) crossing rivers (signifies change, since you never cross the same river twice-because water passes), plot changes always follow a period of waking from unconscious to a bigger world. The Shire represents the first naive consciousness. Maps represent quantifiable knowledge, the 4 hobbits represent the 4 elements of consciousness, Frodo being intellect drives the early phase of enlightenment, later on Sam takes over, representing how instincts become predominant at higher levels of consciousness, also interesting because people all act in instinct prior to discovery of the self, then come full circle back to it as consciousness enlightens the unconscious, wow this stuff is genius. Apparently Jung and Tolkien were buddies. It's crazy, especially when you consider that Star Wars and the Matrix were also designed around Jungian archetypes and consciousness, not to mention the works of Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Synecdoche New York, Being John Malkovich) and PT Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will be Blood). Our society is defined to an incredible degree by the works of Jung, and nobody I know has ever even heard of him. If you want to see something fascinating, look up The Red Book, Jung published it in 1930, it totally looks like its from LOTR (published in 1955, The Hobbit in 1937). Jung said that the death of one age is defined by the birth of a new age, the reason the Elves were migrating prior to the Age of Men. Wow, it's like I never really saw these movies that i always loved. Expanding consciousness is already happening. Expand

One of the best fantasy films of all time. Adventure, cinematography, character development, story, all great. The film just builds from the get go and for me makes me want to see the next film and the next.

Beginning To A Pretty Much Perfect Trilogy
Fellowship Of The Ring is a tremendous start to a historically amazing trilogy.

As a massive Tolkien fan this film gets the book almost perfect, the look and feel is exactly right and the cahracters are nailed. Shoulda kept Glorfindel however.

Because I have a massive love for this Tolkien world as a whole but here I go... Lord of the Rings is a BANGER what that means to me is that I can watch it non-stop with anyone at anytime and just enjoy every aspect of it from its story to its music, cast, cinematograpy design... just everything I truly enjoy this movie because its very unique to me it gives me such a massive sense of adventure something I just do not share with other movies or stories I think Lord of the Rings just knows how to relate to you even if you do not want to it has a massive selection of characters its lore is rich and is totally in your face and the movie just barely grazes the ground even the directors cuts to its series of books I truly love and enjoy lord of the rings and im of the few freaks that has an ass that can withstand movies for hours I truly do not mind sitting and watching this for hours and I can watch this with anyone even people that do not enjoy the movies because it gives me new views of it because I am truly blinded by this universe. This is based on the extended edition and encompasses all three LotR movies.
This movie is a classic. Tolkien's world is brought to life in truly epic fashion here. Sure it runs long, but that length ensures that nothing in the story is left

This movie is a classic. Tolkien's world is brought to life in truly epic fashion here. Sure it runs long, but that length ensures that nothing in the story is left out. I suggest judging all three Lord of the Rings movies as one collective whole, rather than as three stand alone movies. This trilogy was meant to be watched this way and the experience isn't complete without that.
