Summary: When a flood strikes Costache's village in Romania, his wife Maria and all of their possessions are swept away. Now in a village shelter, Costache refuses to sell his land and move onward. He has plans to re-build and refuses help and advice from his neighbors. While it lacks the richness of some of Ozu’s masterworks, “The Japanese Dog” steers clear of sentimentality — an impressive feat, given that the title somewhat preciously refers to a toy dog. The movie depicts a hopeful side of Romania, peeking through even Costache’s lonely world. Read full review

There Is Very Much Very Is Much Of Not No Too Much Of Any At All And True And False 0% Chance There Is Not One Single Dog In This, Also I Thunk Thus Movie It Very Racist Because Of No Dogs
