Peter Jackson made a perfect ending for his middle earth odyssey. And Martin Freeman was awesome. Best of Hobbit series. More action and more fun. And more disappointing because of it is the last

The pacing is very uneven at times, but The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a very well done return to Middle Earth with enough action, heart, and lore to keep people satisfied.

Amazing, amazing trilogy. Wow, what an add on to Lord of the rings, this entire new trilogy is just adding to the masterpiece that is Middle Earth, a must watch.

Yes, this movie is that bad. It is soooo boring beyond belief. It is so hard to imagine that Peter Jackson is behind this. And worse yet, there are gonna be 3?! for real!? hell no im out

It feels like a weak Lord of the Rings trilogy with an interesting start. You're starting to know that Peter Jackson directed both the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit all together to make 6 movies connect with each other. Worth the shot to watch.

An unexpected surprise, this movie is. The hobbit is a great start to a new trilogy. While defiantly not as good as the lord of the rings, this still remains a solid prequel to the original trilogy.

The hobbit is a visual masterpiece. It has a great cast that portray great characters. The action sequences are incredibly shot and the fast pace story keeps you drawn in the whole time. All in all a fantastic Movie.

The interpretation of the books was best in this first movie, the others got really, really bad.
My biggest issue is that Martin Freeman was miscast. He's an incredible actor, just not a good Bilbo.

Great movie. The beginning is a bit long, and I would have liked a little bit less CGI, but the acting, the scenario, and returning to Middle Earth make it a great movie.

Not Quite Lord Of The Rings
The first chapter of The Hobbit Trilogy may not be a masterpiece, but it’s still a great film.

This is definitely the best movie of 2012. Everything is great, and if it wasn't for the fact that I only give one movie in a series a 10, and I enjoyed BOTFA more, I would give this movie an easy 10! WATCH IT

This first "Hobbit" movie does have certain pacing issues, however as a whole it is still a very enjoyable movie with breathtaking visuals and an outstanding portrayal of Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman.

The film leans to far into 3D technology and distracting CGI while trying to stretch a small children's book into a 3 hour long epic while failing spectacularly

An utter yawn. The Hobbit is a children's book in comparison to the LotR trilogy (I believe Tolkien himself said as much). The comparative weight of this film exemplifies that. The acting is fine but this is entirely skippable

what a wonderful movie! Peter jackson did a great job adopting tolkien's the hobbit and made a leggiadrous prequel to the lord of the rings.

Era difícil igualar a LOTR, pero consigue acercarse bastante, sobre todo esta entrega.

A flawless movie that's accessible for a wider age group than LOTR. My most highly regarded movie of all time because of the quality of the acting, directing & the sheer brilliance of the storyline.

This movie serves as fun entertainment, but the movie is simply boring and forgettable.

Have been looking forward to this since I was a child over 40 years ago, sadly after the brilliance of the LOTR films this is just a CGI mess I can't believe it's from the same director. Avoid

I can only think of one expression for this, cheap.
You can tell that the film was produced quickly and did not cost much money.
No comparison, not even close to Lord of the Rings.

Obviously if you think that this is a LOTR prequel series it is a product, but inevitably, far inferior. In the end it is none other than The Hobbit. Exactly, The Hobbit.
