The way of repersenting the film is awesome while it would remains black and white if Batman(Chris Bale) and Joker(R.I.P Heath Ledger) hasnt show their own colours.

They say opposites attract and that is completely true here as The Joker's chaotic nature is the perfect antithesis for Batman's strive for justice. Throughout the film Batman is constantly questioning what he stands for and if what he does makes things worst. This sense of self awareness and conflict within the character automatically makes the film better and makes for a more intriguing watch. One aspect that truly makes this film stands out is that its not just a conventional comic book movie. At its core this film is a crime thriller. Delving into the deepest darkest depths of crime and what effects acts of anarchy can have on society. We know who batman is and we don't need to watch Batman begins to pick up this movie. But best part of this epic story is The Joker. Heath Ledger turned the clown prince of crime into a terrifying antagonist. He plays so well on batman and even wins at the end of the movie. He creates a perfect enemy for a perfect heroe. Put quite simply, a master piece from start to finish. The score, acting, plot, dialogue, transitions, you name it, this is up there in the upper echelon of superhero films and films in general. Also, Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) does more of an amazing job playing the Cape crusader then he did in the first by his performance and the action scenes which happen with him throughout the movie, speaking of the action scenes they're so good and intense to watch and they make me want to see what happens next throughout this superb movie. Finally, the villains of the movie The Joker (Heath Ledger) is phenomenal, the reasons on how he's phenomenal is on how he gets into the role of the character and another thing which I like about his joker over the others is how he plans to do certain things which might end up killing someone in a certain way but a very joker way, which really adds to his character and this really does make him into one of the best villains out there. The other villain in the movie who is known as Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart) is really good throughout this movie he really does get better more into the movie when we get to understand his character a bit more. I almost forgot to mention during the fight scenes the camera work is so smooth during them and its fantastic. I'd honestly say most of the green screen and CGI effects hold up pretty well throughout this amazing movie, the rest of the crew do an amazing job and they make this movie brilliant for what they're given. There is not enough good I can say about this film! After watching it again for what must be the umpteenth time, it is still one of the best movies I've ever seen. After watching it again for what must be the umpteenth time, it is still one of the best movies I've ever seen. Heath Ledger is phenomenal, just absolutely stunning as the Joker. Even after seeing Jouaqin Phoenix's amazing go at this character, Ledger stands head and shoulders above all the rest. Christian Bale brings a gravitas to his role that is not easily duplicated in the other entries of this trilogy. And Aaron Eckhart makes a great transition from the "white knight of Gotham" to Two-Face, albeit a rather short and sudden transition. Lastly, although I love Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine as much as anybody else, Gary Oldman deserves the highest praise as Commissioner Gordon; he is always fantastic in every movie.
I'll share a key quality of a great movie: when you think it's over and excitedly find that you are just halfway through! I'll never forget thinking that it would be fine if the movie ended after Joker was initially captured, and to my surprise had another hour of wonderful movie to enjoy! In the end, the Dark Knight is hands down the best Christopher Nolan movie, the best Batman movie, and one of the best movies, period, of all time, in my opinion. If it's on, I'm watching.… Expand

I know it sounds a bit too cliché when someone says this, but this is undoubtedly one of, if not the best superhero movie ever created! It excels in every field it touches - The visual effects are done perfectly, the acting is absolutelyI know it sounds a bit too cliché when someone says this, but this is undoubtedly one of, if not the best superhero movie ever created! It excels in every field it touches - The visual effects are done perfectly, the acting is absolutely Oscar worthy, the multiple storylines that don't seem too complex in spite of being told at the same time and in spite of being just one movie of a trilogy it managed to win the hearts of everyone who saw it.

The story picks up very well from where Batman Begins ended. The post credit scene in that movie had shown Joker, and I can very well imagine how excited the audience must have been seeing it. The Batman and Joker duo is used to describe the social aspects of the society, and explain how people might behave if they are left unhinged. A hero who has his moral codes and a lot to lose, compared to a villain without any moral codes and nothing to lose yet have so much in common than what meets the normal eye. Ultimately both are seen as freaks who must be eliminated by the law.

Let's talk about the characters, starting from Christian Bale's Batman. His voice sounds horrible as Batman. Nowadays many people have begun criticising it, but they don't realise that if a real Batman has to change his voice, he only has two ways of doing it - either using a voice modulator like Ben Affleck's Batman does, or deal with trying to sound different, which isn't easy when he has to breathe heavily because of how hard he works. It's just fun to see the caped crusader doing something on the screen.

Next let's address Michael Caine's Alfred. He's a good representation of Alfred. Just by looking at him you get the feeling of both a butler and a guardian, something we know Alfred to be. And it can be seen very nicely when he dresses Bruce's wounds or talks to him about his crimefighting.

Then we have Aaron Eckhart's Two Face. Unlike the previous iteration that was seen in Batman Forever, this one seems a lot more serious. He went through a hefty character development, from the patriotic white Knight of Gotham, Harvey Dent, to the deranged psychopath who is ready to cross all limits if he wants to have his revenge.

Jim Gordon is also a much, much better iteration from what we had seen in the 1989 Batman. He actually looks like someone who is invested in his job and can contact Batman whenever he needs help. He is the kind of Gordon I imagine when I think of the animated movies. When someone mentions Jim Gordon, this is the one who comes to my mind.

And finally the elephant in the room, the show stealer - Heath Ledger's Joker. Just like Two Face, Joker here has also gone through a complete makeover from what he was portrayed as in the previous movie that came in 1989. It's kinda sad that Heath Ledger never got to know how famous he has become, but his legacy shall forever live in the DC universe.

The Dark Knight is one movie I often come back to just to remember these kinds of superhero movies are also possible. Every DC character should be given such movies where their character is shown to develop as time moves on. This fire should not die out.… Expand

The Dark Knight: A film that not only knows who and what to do with it's characters but executes them and their motives perfectly. The story is amazing here, Batman is now established in Gotham and crime is at an all time high but then the Joker whips the city into completely anarky, and also The Joker in this film....WOW, Heath Ledger truly captured what the clown prince of crimes needs to be like, giving one of the greatest performances of all time (if not the best) Christian Bale shines just as bright giving a perfect performance of the duality between Batman and Bruce Wayne, and Bale's and Ledger's chemistry is unlike anything ever put on screen, while Bale and Ledger shine the side characters get great moments as well, Gary Oldman gives as great of a performance as he did in Batman Begins, Aaron Eckhart captures Harvey Dent's turn to Two Face perfectly, there is just too much good things in this movie to say, just watch the movie for yourself and be amazed at every sequence truly a masterpiece, 10 out of 10… Expand

Christopher Nolan did an astonishing job and especially with the ending I did not think for even a second that batman would want to take the blame for Harvey's Mistakes. And of course the best joker actor I've ever seen in my entire life. The legendary heath ledger I have never seen anyone play the joker like he did. To Christopher Nolan I see this. The film also tackles a dark and gritty aesthetic to Batman set in a grounded hyperrealistic reality, which was unconventional for superhero films until this one excelled with this style, and has resulted in many other superhero films following suit. I’m not personally hugely into DC characters or movies that are made about those characters, but I think that The Dark Knight may be the best comic book film I’ve ever seen. This movie is dark, gloomy, unbelievably acted and brilliant in writing, direction and content. Christian Bale is by far the best Batman we’ve seen to date, and Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger give probably the best performances of their careers. From start to finish, Dark Knight is a thrilling crime movie that exemplifies the vigilante problem via the relationship that Batman has with Commissioner Gordon and the rest of Gotham’s crime-fighting police squad, and it never lets you go. This is an anxiety building movie that keeps you constantly wondering and worried about what’s going to happen next and how the movie is going to surprise you and subvert expectations. This is a Christopher Nolan movie that is smart and deep without getting too complicated and hard to follow the way some of his other films can be at times. Despite how much is going on in it, Dark Knight is a very refined movie with a clear focus and flows very smoothly despite how nerve-racking it is for both the characters and viewers. But the absolute highlight of this film is Heath Ledger’s Joker. For a villain we’ve don’t get a backstory for and know very little about in the movie, the Joker is a scary, complex, and intimidating villain who gives Wilson Fisk a run for his money. From the first time we see his face until his fate at the end of the movie, the Joker is a just as gripping as the movie is and is a villain who knows how to influence, mess with and terrify people. He is an antagonist who wants to fill people with fear and cause their society to do a 180 degree flip on itself and does so through very engaging and unique means you don’t see coming and wouldn’t think of to see in a comic book movie. Heath Ledger’s performance, as I mentioned earlier, is mind-blowing; he is probably the best antagonist we’ve seen in any DC movie ever and I’m unsure if any villain could top him. This movie is dark enough and has complex enough themes that I’d even say this isn’t a movie for kids; you need to be a little older and more mature to truly understand and appreciate what’s going on in this movie. The Dark Knight is an absolutely must-see for DC fans and comic book fans in general as Marvel fans will find a lot to appreciate about this movie too.… Expand

Bruce Wayne has brought a continuous brand of justice to Gotham and the criminals are running scared until one man with makeup and a particular sense of humor changes EVERYTHING. Bruce and The Joker are both outcasts of society but one has decided to embrace it and the other to turn it into something good. The Joker's ferociousness and unyielding loyalty to chaos pushes Bruce to the brink of his own morals and gives us perhaps the greatest villain ever put to screen and yet all the while we have a Disctrict Attorney named Harvey Dent that wrestles with his own morals and sanity and is being pushed ever so slightly to the ledge with every action The Joker takes. A perfect sequel, the ultimate Batman movie, and probably my favorite Superhero movie of all time. Every scene with Joker is absolutely brilliant, and he's an excellent counterpart of Batman, easily the best movie in the Trilogy.

Heath Ledger really nails the role of Joker, which is so well written that it doesn't force it upon you that is insane, but you naturally understand it through his attitude and certain scenes. The movie never drags or gets boring but rather has you on the edge of your seat. Harvey Dent/Two Face is really well written too both character wise and appearence wise. Really cool actions scenes throughout the film. Christian Bale doesn't fail to impress once more since he manages to play three different roles. The one of Batman, the one of Bruce Wayne around his close people and the image that Bruce Wayne wants to sell to the public. Michael Caine and his character Alfred are also great. Alfred is wise and is an integral part of Batman.
Generally a great movie overall. Must watch!… Expand
