There is no tear jerking performance, but it's pretty darn close. Sandra Bullock is outstanding in this film, and this is one of the best football films.

It's sad that the man's career ended recently but there isn't much you can do regarding that. He did his best and we just have to respect him for it. Expand

The Blind Side was an amazing biopic of Michael Oher. It is way better than the critics of Metacritic actually say it is, because they always look on the bad side of a film.

All the characters are all so loveable. Quinton Aaron plays one of the most loveable role I have ever seen and a movie and he does it by speaking very few words considering he is in a lead role. That is something to be proud off. Sandra Bullock also plays one of the best performances if not the best performance of her career. I need to watch more of her stuff. Plus the supporting characters are just so good and the family is just so cute like Tim McGraw is like the perfect father figure. Jae Head and Aaron had unlikely chemistry and their scenes are some of the highlights of the film. This film just shows that there are people willing to go beyond the call of duty for basically no personal gain and all it took was a little structure to make Michael Oher well established young man. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't like football. I don't really like the south. I didn't like the theme. And honestly I didn't like The Blind Side. I'm not gonna go super in-depth here in this review because I don't feel that plot had any surprises and could as easily be found on the Wikipedia page, so I'll just give you my comments.

I think this movie was very well-made. It had great actors and spot on scenery and location. But I found it was really lacking intrigue – at least to me. I'm glad Michael got his best chance, but the movie felt like it was rewarding this white family for acting as a hero, because they saved his life. I think they did a great thing for Michael, but just something about the acting and the family rubbed me the wrong way and I can't make up my mind on how my position in the NCAA case. Overall, it was well-executed, but lacked pretty much everything I look for in a movie and I don't think I would ever watch it again or recommend it to anyone wanting to watch a good movie.

It really spotlights the inherent goodness, generosity, and charity of mankind. Sandra Bullock is perfect in her role, she brings to life MLK's words: judge people not by the color of their skin but on the content of thier character. And by doing this, she is able to help the talented teen Michael Oher. Also I loved supporting actress Lily Collins' character. A very well-done movie in all aspects! Expand

No es exactamente la película de todos los tiempos, aunque sería tonto negar que sabe llegar al corazón del espectador sin sentimentalismos baratos y, de paso, demostrar que Sandra Bullock es capaz de interpretar roles un poco más exigentes.

Based on real facts, it tells the story of Michael Oher, a young black teenager, of enormous stature, who has a big heart and a great dose of kindness and patience. However, he lacks a family: he came from humble beginnings, from a broken family and from a problematic neighborhood, and life did not allow him to study and, therefore, he has no education. Thanks to his potential for rugby, he is admitted to a school for the rich and receives a scholarship. There he will meet a very wealthy family, with whom he will have a friendship, remarkable for him and for everyone in that house.

The film is so tender and full of goodness that it sometimes sounds almost like a fairy tale. It is not easy, nowadays, to find people as well-intentioned as that family, nor to see young people who have Oher's life path and have never felt revolt or suffered with the temptation of a life of marginality. It is truly touching, and the story told wins our hearts quickly. Technically, it is a discreet film, which leaves all the space for the story told and for the good interpretation of the cast. However, we can admire the excellent cinematography, a very well done edition and good visual and sound effects.

The cast, in fact, is an essential part of the charm of this film. First of all, for the superb performance of Sandra Bullock in the role of Leigh Anne, the matriarch of the family. With a willful, strong and energetic spirit, she is a woman of fiber and courage who defends her family and what she has faith with all her energy, and Bullock is perfect for playing women with such a dose of personality. She won, with this film, the Oscar for Best Actress, and deserved it with all the merits. Quinton Aaron was also quite good in the role of the gigantic Michael Oher, however Bullock robs him of all the role whenever she appears on the scene. Jae Head is a good addition and brings an additional dose of tenderness to the film. Tim McGraw and Lily Collins do what is necessary, but they do not stand out much more than what is required.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Plot: Overall, the plot is very interesting as today, there’re barely biographical sports films. The storylines are mostly heartbreaking but at the same time, also heartwarming as Anne and her family always showed affection toward Michael and assured him that he is also part of the family.

Quality: Although the film was released back in 2009, the quality including audio, graphics, and outfits are definitely outstanding among the film/movie released at that time, and also I can see how much effort the staff, directors, and actors/actresses of this film put into every single scene as they have a very smooth transition between each scene and delicate storylines.

Scenes: Huge applause to John Lee Hancock who directed this film, he has done a great job of portraying how racist society is at that time by highlighting the scene where Anne’s friend was jokingly saying that if Anne adopted Michael, the friends of her biological kids might be misunderstood that Anne has a secret relationship with Michael or her biological daughter might be raped by Michael. This scene certainly made me realize how racist society is that people can judge someone based on their race, sex, gender, appearance, and social status, therefore, making many people become a victim of racial injustice.

Character: Sandra Bullock definitely deserves recognition for her acting as Leigh Anne. Her acting is decent and superior as her tone of voice, gesture, eye contact, and many other things she performed on the screen made me highly getting involved and feel emotional with the scenes even more. She is one of the reasons why I started to watch this film and also replay it a few times.

***Recommendation: Although there are many things I like in this film, I would like to point out that the ending was not great. As an audience, I supposed it would be great if there are more scenes after Michael gets drafted as I am curious about the further relationship between Michael and his adoptive family after he became successful and also how well he does in his professional career.***

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Blind Side is an inspiring movie about a real-life boy named Michael Oher, a left tackle, who went from homelessness to NFL stardom. The movie does not differentiate from the novel content much. However, the movie is ridden with a bunch of stereotypes, like Southern white people looking like farmers, black people living in a rough neighborhood, and Michael Oher acting all shy and depressed most of the movie. The real Michael Oher, as he stated, was not like that. However, this is very inspiring and watchable! Expand
