Compelling back stage story of the PC genius. Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin makes a remarkable job without the typical heroic portrait, focusing in an unseen angle. Fassbender is brilliant in the main role.

But the emphasis ofSet behind the scenes at three product launches, the Macintosh, NeXT and iMac, this film explores the world of digital revolution to look on the progress of technology and the private life of the CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs. But the emphasis of this movie are the rip-roaring moments and intensifying events backstage before the launches of his three mentioned iconic products.

This film has three acts which represents the three time periods of Jobs' career entirely shown by adrenaline-fueled dialogue. It turns 120 minutes of talking into an interesting movie written fantastically by Aaron Sorkin. It is also extremely well-acted by its actors: Steve Jobs is played by Michael Fassbender, who gives the performance of his career. It also stars Kate Winslet, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston and Seth Rogen, who all nailed it, in terms of performances.

It is an energetic movie with a strong direction from Danny Boyle. But Steve Jobs is not a movie for everyone. Some would be bored and not interested, but if you like dialogue-driven films, Steve Jobs would be an investing movie for you.

VERDICT: Sorkin, Boyle and Fassbender work magic together.

I can say that the movie couldn't live up to my expectations. It would be more appropriate if the name of the movie was "Steve Jobs: Macintosh and Lisa" for the sake of meeting the viewers' expectations. Because, his marriage, relationship with Pixar, his illness and many important subjects were not mentioned in the movie. Expand

Steve Jobs

How many biographies are made nowadays? And how many of them gets it right? This is not one of those, this is a movie that limelight's the part of this genre which was untouched over the years. The movie is depicted with such a grace that it is inhuman to not break down in the end of it which is quite surprising considering its genre. Steve Jobs is not just a good movie that came across this year, it was written, acted and executed out so perfectly to find a lose thread in there that is editable. Danny Boyle sets the bar of the biographies to a new place where it seems almost impossible to even touch it let along surpass it for the premise is way too interesting to not invest in it and above all; his execution, each and every detail hits the perfect note. Aaron's writing behind the screen is completely visible and it stands alone in its own tone and environment and is still palpable to not only survive but triumph over it. Michael Fassbender as the protagonist is the most human any actor can ever be and along with a great support cast like Kate, Seth, Katherine and Jeff, Danny creates more from it than it was aspired or even dared too. Steve Jobs is filled with compelling arguments, rigorous emotions, eerie perspective, stellar performances, fast paced sequences and perfectly edited feature that even though being a talkative natured script for 2 complete hours won't let you wander your eyes away from the screen.

Yes, this is how perfect this movie is!

This movie is the reason why I believe that Aaron Sorkin is the best screenwriter ever.

Steve Jobs is one of the easiest movies to criticize, one of the most exhausting movies to watch, and it's the best movie to listen to!

The film is almost like an Apple product itself; it's smart, streamlined, aesthetically pleasing, and very accessible. It also has plenty of dark humour and genuine emotion to spare.

Screenplay by Aaron Sorkin and the acting performances by Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet and Seth Rogen are enough to give this movie 10 stars out of 10, not mentioning the editing, the cinematography and costume&decorations design

Michael Fassbender was fantastic but apart from that it wasn't amazing. It started off really good but it sort of got a bit boring as it went on.

On my MacBook, of course. All the film in the keynotes, the good idea, but soothing exchanges that end up annoying. What about the iPhone?

This film depicts the greatest achievements of Steve Jobs. On the other hand, we can see his problems and ups and downs, which are really admirable but do not have very high potential.

I was one of those people who really like Ashton Kutcher's Jobs that many people didn't really like, one of the great thing about Ashton Kutcher's Jobs is his portrayal of the man, from the first second i saw him as Steve Jobs i believe it was him, with Michael Fassbender's Steve Jobs i did have some quite a time to process and try to believe him as Jobs and i finally did believe him but just in the last hour of the movie, the first 50 minutes of the film in terms of a scene i think it was great, my only problem is just me still trying to believe and process Michael Fassbender's as Steve Jobs and that's it, the scene with Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and especially Katherine Waterson were absolutely great and so do they' re performance throughout the film, after that there is this 10 minutes of boring scene with Jeff Daniels which of course i didn't like, then the last hour of the film which i have no problem at all, i think the last hour of the film was just fantastic and i even dare to s ay that the last hour of Steve Jobs was better than whole movie of Jobs but then of course that's not how it works and overall movie i do still prefer Ashton Kutcher's Jobs than this, but that doesn't mean Michael Fassbender's Steve Jobs was bad, i think overall movie Michael Fassbender's Steve Jobs was pretty good.

I expect Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet to be great, and they were. The rest of the cast was terrific too, with Jeff Daniels giving his best performance in years and Katherine Waterston giving another charismatic turn (after INHERENT VICE). Danny Boyle as director. Aaron Sorkin scripting. What's not to like?

I went into the film having heard little about its "unorthodox" approach to exploring Steve Jobs. In case you hadn't heard, we learn about Jobs through three lengthy "scenes" of him backstage just before some major product launches. We see him interact with "staff." We see him interact with peers. With former mentors. With those closest to him. We get to see how his brain works. How his brilliance sometimes overcame his tendency to be a major, grade-A jerk (and sometimes, it didn't.) We get to know Steve Jobs, THE MAN. We do NOT really get to know Steve Jobs, the life story. If that's what you're looking for, you will be disappointed. This is a blisteringly paced, intelligent, character study.

In some ways it feels like THE SOCIAL NETWORK (another Sorkin script, another tech giant who is a jerk)...but similarities are surface only. Sorkin writes in a recognizable way (a way which I find insufferable for TV, like WEST WING...but seems to work in two hour cinematic doses). But SOCIAL NETWORK tells a more traditional narrative, moving through many moments in time. STEVE JOBS examines the man's behavior during 3 critical moments in his life. (There are a few flashbacks, too). It shows how evolves, or doesn't...but it doesn't give you the "story of Apple."

If a movie has great, juicy dialogue handled by actors of skill...I'm a happy camper. I love Tarantino. I love this film for that same reason. Talk and talk and talk and talk. I relished it. Fassbender is so very skillful. His verbal sparring with Daniels or Seth Rogan or Waterston is such fun. Winslet is there providing subtle but steady support...she is almost standing in for "us". She's someone who very much admires Jobs but is also horrified by his behavior. As his long time assistant, she can say things to him no one else can (doesn't mean he listens though). For me, this whole movie was just very intellectually stimulating, and it revealed Steve Jobs very well.

Does it ACCURATELY reveal Jobs? Who knows? How can anyone know if a biography accurately depicts its subject. But this film, under the very capable direction of the always interesting Danny Boyle (even when he fails, his movies are interesting), presents a completely credible version of this towering figure. He's both very human and very larger-than-life. I know going forward, whenever I think of Steve Jobs, I will be inserting THIS Steve Jobs into my mental picture.

And, in case I didn't make it clear before, Fassbender is great here. If you are a fan of his, or a fan of great acting, you should see this film, even if you don't care about Steve Jobs. This guy never fails to be less than interesting on screen. Not all his movies succeed (this film certainly didn't "succeed" for a lot of viewers) BUT he does not fail.
