While this movie did a good job concluding the character arc between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi is an underwhelming disappointment.

This would had gotten a 10 like the other 4 and 5 episodes if they make the weakness MAKE SENSE. But forgetting all of this. The things I have to say are in the other Star Wars episode so I don't really have anything else to say.

The final movie of the original trilogy does not disappoint. We got a solid and satisfying conclusion. It is time for the deciding confrontation between the rebels and the empire. The movie starts with the rescue act for Han Solo. If I remember correctly it was not sure if Harrison Ford would return for a third movie so they ended the previous movie in a way that this was covered. Many dislike this arc and I on the other hand like it. It gave us the famous slave Leia outfit;-). Then the set ups for the climatic final will be done and we got the last bits of character developments. Again I think I have nothing new to add here. I wont spoil much more but will repeat that the final battles and the conclusion leave all of us satisfied. It is the right way to end this saga. Overall while not the strongest of the original trilogy it is a worthy addition to he saga.… Expand

I've finally come to the finale of the original trilogy, and although I still can't say I'm a huge fan of the franchise, I've really enjoyed all three of the original Star Wars films, even if there are glaring flaws that no one seems to talkI've finally come to the finale of the original trilogy, and although I still can't say I'm a huge fan of the franchise, I've really enjoyed all three of the original Star Wars films, even if there are glaring flaws that no one seems to talk about. Of the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi definitely has the most noticeable problems, but it does end the series in a suitably ambitious and entertaining fashion. In Return of the Jedi, the Galactic Empire is building a second Death Star to finally destroy the Rebel Alliance, and Emperor Palpatine is personally overseeing the project. The Rebel Fleet launches a full-scale attack onto the Death Star in order to prevent its completion and kill Palpatine. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker attempts to bring Darth Vader out of the Dark Side of the Force. The action scenes in Episode VI are a bit more inconsistent than in the other movies, but I have to mention the speeder bike chase scenes. It's without a doubt my favorite scene in the series so far because it's so fast-paced, well shot and intense. It was definitely the highlight of the movie. One of the weaker action scenes was a bizarre set piece with the Ewoks. The entire scene was just awkward; I find it hard to believe that a primitive race of small hairy creatures armed with sticks could defeat the Imperial stormtroopers. Return of the Jedi also didn't improve on the cheesy father-son plot from The Empire Strikes Back. Watching Luke pitifully try to convince Darth Vader to step away from the Dark Side was groan-inducing. Nevertheless, the strengths of the Star Wars series are still on full display here. The utter imagination and detail put into the universe is incredible, and the film is just as exciting as its predecessors. Return of the Jedi isn't as competent as the previous films, but it is a satisfying and sporadically rousing conclusion.… Expand

Return of the Jedi isn't necessarily the conclusion to Star Wars saga everyone wanted, but it is perhaps the one we needed.

I've always loved the beginning of the film -- Jabba's Palace. We see each member of the main cast slowly introduced, with Luke being the last. The film does a great job of showing us that Luke has advanced in his training, while making him seem mysterious. The characters are definitely Return of the Jedi's strongest suit. The relationship between Luke and Leia is emphasized, but like in The Empire Strikes Back, I found the moments between Luke and the Jedi and Sith of the film to be the best.

The film seems to slow down to a crawl in its second act with Ewok escapades. Ultimately, I don't mind the Ewoks too much nor their theme of nature triumphing over the Empire's technology, but we could've had less moments of their village and more moments with Vader a la Empire. The scenes with the Rebel Alliance are great as well. Billy Dee Williams does a great job as Lando Calrissian while Admiral Ackbar and Nien Nunb add some much-needed non humans to the rebellion.

The third act of the film, as is the norm with Star Wars, is absolutely spectacular. The space and ground parts of the Battle of Endor are equally engaging and tense. Though the use of another Death Star seems repetitive, I feel that it was the best decision they could've done and it increased the stakes of the battle. Luke, Vader, and Palpatine's confrontation on the Death Star itself is one of the best moments in Star Wars history. The raw emotion and question of whether Luke will turn or not was masterfully done. The final ending celebration was great as well.

As the last installment of the original Star Wars trilogy, Return of the Jedi is a great conclusion and gets too much hate. It has its flaws, but is a worthy end to the saga.

Despite it not being the best of the series, this one is still my favorite. The character development tops off here and is very nice to see the final battle all work out. The scene with Luke, Vader, and Palpatine in the throne room was one of the best final confrontations I have ever seen on film and it was a great payoff. The ewoks weren't really that needed but I can see why they were there. After the film that was Empire Strikes Back, I can see why George thought that we needed that in the film. It was also a nice little ending to see Han and Liea get together and be happy. The scene with Vader and Luke at the end before the death star is a very touching scene before he died. It was also great to see Vader turn on his master and save the day. Bringing Qui Gon's wish from the Phantom Menace come to full conclusion. A great film that is by far the most underrated of the older movies.… Expand

In comparison, it is nowhere near the quality of the previous two movies.But nice twists and turns in the story.
Climax was disappointing, expected a lot more action in the end.

I am pretty much where everybody else is with this movie, "Return of the Jedi" isn't quite as redefined as the previous two installments, but this is a more-than-satisfying end to an iconic trilogy.

The story more or less continues where 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back' (1980) left off with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) still frozen and taken prisoner by Jabba the Hutt. Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) sets out to try and save him, but also ends up in Jabba's traps. It is now up to our young hero, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to try and save the two and confront Darth Vader, who he just found out is his father.

The movie is a lot more sillier, especially in the first act, loaded with CGI characters who we see doing more obnoxious things, which we can get bored of quite quickly. It was obviously clear that "The Empire Strikes Back" was a hard act to follow and that this franchise may have needed a break.

It's still great to see our three characters return, and the battle scenes are as engaging as ever (depending on how well you think this movie has aged). "Return of the Jedi" is a satisfying conclusion to an epic trilogy and worth watching for story continuation, it may not be everybody's favorite of the original trilogy (although, there are fans out there), but it could've been worse..."Phantom Menace" worse...… Expand

Queen of spleen critic Pauline Kael called it "an impersonal and rather junky piece of moviemaking" while the rest of the world clearly thought otherwise (and so did the Oscar Academy, who gave it five nominations and one gong — for best special visual effects). Certainly, Marquand's 1983 take comes across as peculiarly anodyne after the broad sweeps of darkness and disturbing drama of Irvin Kershner's The Empire Strikes Back, and many cast members recall this as their least favourite of the trilogy.

In this final episode (of the middle trilogy at least), the evil Empire has managed to claw back power and get a substantial way through construction of a new and even more powerful Death Star — although Darth Vader (Dave Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones) is not satisfied with progress and tries to chivy things along before the arrival of the awe-inspiring Emperor (Ian McDiarmid). Luke Skywalker (Hamill) has gone to Tattooine to rescue Han Solo (Ford) from evil crimelord and giant lump-of-lard Jabba The Hut, before the rebels regroup to launch an attack on the Empire's Death Star Mark II. Business as usual.

Despatched to a forest on a neighbouring planet to close down A Death Star's shield before a Rebellion attack clincher, the heroes come across some the cutesy Ewoks — who ruin this film for many purist Star far fans, but who nevertheless prove pivotal in destroying the Empire. 0h, and the romance between Solo and Princess Leia (Fisher) comes on strong.

Marquand was manifestly more interested in the furry creatures than he was in the Death Star, the battle in the sky or even the Emperor and extraordinary lackey Vader. That said the asthmatic one's inner conflict will the good that Skywalker uncovers makes for stirring stuff, as is his son's emerging struggle with the dark side (styled on Kurosawa). The final dramatic redemption and defeat of evil is as satisfying to watch many years on as it was to the crowds of weenies ignoring the deeper conflicts.

The special effects are the best of the original trilogy — the six years between this and Star Wars allowed ILM to increase its talents tenfold and produced the coolest (speeder) bike chase in movies — and ironically benefits the most from Lucas' latterday overhaul. Probably the weakest in the original trilogy, but still a worthy finale to an epoch defining franchise.

The most disappointing of the original three episodes but still charming and thrilling.… Expand

George Lucas certainly didn't follow that adage when crafting the original Star Wars trilogy. Return of the Jedi, the final installment of the series, is easily the least innovative and most hokey of the three films. In fact, most of the enjoyment derived from this motion picture comes from the simple act of getting together with old friends and enemies one more time. If Luke, Han, Leia, and Vader were replaced by nameless, faceless characters, Return of the Jedi wouldn't be a whole lot more interesting than Independence Day.

Cuteness is the watchword here. The dark, eerie atmosphere that oozed from every frame of The Empire Strikes Back is gone. Instead, for Return of the Jedi, we have good triumphing decisively over evil, a too-pat resolution to a love triangle, and walking teddy bears. Even Darth Vader doesn't seem very daunting this time around. With the arrival of the Emperor (a gaunt-looking Ian McDiarmid), Vader has turned into a second fiddle. It's decidedly unsatisfactory to watch him engage Luke in a civilized conversation.

Return of the Jedi has some interesting elements. The Luke/Vader/Emperor scenes are suitably tense and well-acted, and, if the resolution isn't a complete surprise, at least it's a little more original that it could have been. From a technical point-of-view, the space battles are amazing, easily dwarfing anything depicted in the previous films. Not only are there many, many more ships, but their speed and range of movement have been dramatically improved. On one level, Return of the Jedi is almost worth watching for the special effects. In the Special Edition, a new, equally repugnant dance number has been added to the Jabba the Hutt scene. Additionally, there are some impressive touches tacked onto the ending. Once again, while the improvements don't significantly alter the viewing experience, they're fun to spot.

While there isn't much of a down side to Star Wars or The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi has some serious drawbacks. First and foremost are the Ewoks, an unbearably cuddly race that seem handpicked to generate toy sales. Children enjoy these creatures; everyone I know over age 12 finds them insufferably annoying. Then there's the unbelievably cheap cop-out that Lucas uses to erase the Luke/Han/Leia triangle. Whether Lucas had this in mind from the beginning is irrelevant -- it's a bad idea. Not only does it defuse romantic tension, but it leaves viewers shaking their heads in incredulity. There are other problems too -- the death toll on the rebel side seems shockingly small for a "final battle" and a bit of foreshadowing regarding the Millennium Falcon's fate is thrown out the window. Of course, I could also make the rather obvious observation that large elements of Return of the Jedi are lifted from the original Star Wars, indicating that the creative wellspring of writers George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan had perhaps run dry.

Although it was great fun re-watching Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back again on the big screen, Return of the Jedi doesn't generate the same sense of enjoyment. And, while Lucas worked diligently to re-invigorate each entry into the trilogy, Jedi needs more than the patches of improved sound, cleaned-up visuals, and a few new scenes. Still, despite the flaws, this is still Star Wars, and, as such, represents a couple of lightly-entertaining hours spent with characters we have gotten to know and love over the years. Return of the Jedi is easily the weakest of the series, but its position as the conclusion makes it a must-see for anyone who has enjoyed its predecessors.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As the Star Wars universe expands, the violence becomes more intense, the stakes higher, and our love for the characters reaches an all-time high. Return of the Jedi built upon the previous two titles in the saga, but shows less of the youthfulness and ingenuity once possessed.

Luke Skywalker had an incomparable story arc this episode. Discovering the identity of his twin sister brings a human element to the screen while Luke's training as a Jedi warrior shows his dedication and love for those that he cares about. Ending with the epic fight with his own father, Darth Vader, Luke chooses the good side and cannot be swayed into the Emperor's arms. The themes of love and of defeating evil are palpable.

My problem with the movie, however, is the overwhelming amount of time spent on the moon of Endor with the Ewoks. However charming, the battles and scuffs lacked relevance to the greater plotline. Han, Leia, and Chewbacca seemed to be placed there to be forgotten.

I cannot in fairness say that I would give Return of the Jedi the same high rating if it were not part of the original Star Wars trilogy, but the lovability of the underdogs we've grown to know makes this an impossible movie to dislike. Not the best in the series, but there's no topping A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back.… Expand

So what made this movie a step down than its two predecessors? Well, forgive me for nit picking, but I didn't think the humour is as strong as it was in New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Plus, while it was evident, the romantic elements weren't as developed either. However, putting these flaws aside, it is still enormously entertaining, thanks to the elaborate set pieces and the well choreographed battles(the final battle especially was a knockout). And I will say that it is a vast improvement over the prequels. The plot is still fast paced and sophisticated, and the screenplay while not as fun still is as imaginative as ever.

I have heard many complaints about the Ewoks. I think it depends on your perspective whether you like them or not; maybe a delight to younger audiences, maybe too sickly cute to an adult. Being a 17 year old female, I thought they were very cute. The acting is still very impressive, with Mark Hamill spontaneously likable in the lead. Frank Oz is a perfect Yoda and his death scene is heart rending, and Ian McDairmund also steals his scenes as the Emperor. Harrison Ford, in an inspired bit of casting is great again as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher is still vivacious and Alec Guiness the great actor that he was is brilliant as Obi Wan. But my favourite is James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader, his majestic booming voice is very ideal for a dark menacing villain. And I must mention John Williams's music, brilliant and innovative, unquestionably one of the best film scores of all time. All in all, while my least favourite of the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi makes for essential viewing. 9/10 Bethany Cox.… Expand

While the action is definitely not better than it's predecessor's, it does have an impact. This episode is more different. It's more colorful and cartoonish, so that may turn some people off. but I enjoyed it very much. I'm not a big fan of the Jabba The Hutt part, but it's well executed. I liked the humor and the characters shine in this movie. I kind of hated how ewoks could defeat stormtroopers in this movie, but it's OK. And, also, the last 30 minutes are epic and should not be missed. So, it's definitely worth watching.… Expand

I know I will get some flak for this, but I always loved ROTJ. Possibly even more than Empire. This film is so underrated by critics. I mean, it only go 80% by rotten tomatoes, and it only has 52% by metacritic. Come on, really? Then boba fett dying like a lonney tune character, really, I had so much hope for that character to be so well in return of the Jedi. But besides that, the movie was a wonderful experience. Sences like Jabba the hutt, the endor battle, the battle between Luke and Vader. These some of the moments that made the original trilogy so awesome. This is however the weakest in the trilogy and here's why.
First of all han solo seemed a bit underwelming especially compared to how great he is in the other installments. Also they brushed over han and landos relationship despite their last meeting ending in lando betraying han solo. The biggest problem is the ewoks though i wont deny their cuteness they can not really be taked seriously. I do not mind the native creatures over throwing the empire but it made the stormtroopers seem useless and unintimidating. Their is also too much focus on them and i is clearly a ploy to sell toys. I was also uninterested about the space battle but it was still visually great nevertheless. I enjoy Jedi overall and it is definitely worth the watch.… Expand

I told why it is worst the original triology:

-Special effects are inferior than the before episode
-The eworks are awful, because i don´t understand because you want to introduce another comedy gadget if you already have C3PO and R2D2, this decision gests worse Endor Battle.

Yoda and Luke's training). Though I didn't think the Ewoks were too annoying, I found some of their scenes to be silly. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a child, this was my favorite movie. As I've grown older, I now realize some of its flaws. The odd movements of stop motion AT-STs ans puppeteer operated Hutts are a bit disconcerting to look at, but nothing can take away from the thrill I still get inside every time I watch this movie. Richard Marquand does an excellent job incorporating fun, and swashbuckling antics into a movie that depicts a battle for the fate of the galaxy. Be it the opening scene on Jabba the Hutt's sail barge, or the wicked fast speeder chase, whatever is happening the kid in you can't help but be excited. Star Wars has always been something of a love letter to Lucas's childhood, and the sheer juvenile glee is infectious.
The Space Battle at the end is just awesome, cashing in on the thrill of sheer spectacle. One shot in particular is the moment in which an out of control A-Wing fighter crashes into the bridge of a star destroyer. Critically damaged, it begins to go downward, and i n a brilliant flash of light, the battleship explodes into the death star.
Luke's duel with Vader is similarly epic. He Is passive for most of the fight. Retreating as Vader advances. Suddenly, he snaps, and here the credit goes to Hamill. We see the remorse on his face, Luke has no desire to fight Vader, and yet, there is also a primal rage. This duel is not choreographed, it is an expression of raw emotion, depicting the eternal struggle between good and evil, and ending the final installment of the trilogy with an immensely satisfying bang.… Expand

John Williams delivers the best soundtrack ever for any Star Wars movie(the Emperors theme is my favourite). And the climax of the film is emotionally powerful and perfect. One of my favourite movies of all times, I can tell it has some major flaws, however the nostalgia factor is pushing the 8 I had in mind to a 9. Definitely the most "magic" movie of the saga. That ending scene is just amazing to me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "Return of the Jedi" is a movie filled with ups and downs. What could have been a great movie, turned out to be a rather mediocre one. Nevertheless, it is worth watching it because it remains a lot of fun.
First of all, the plot is simply not that interesting: another Death star to blow up, the characters' introduction takes far too long and the Ewok part is really slow. The characters are actually quite disappointing, compared to their appearances in the previous two installments. Boba Fett's death is ridiculous, Han lost most of his charme, C-3PO just quits being funny and even Darth Vader is by far not as badass anymore. Besides, the fact that Leia turns out to be Luke's sister, does not contribute anything to the plot. On the other hand, the visuals are stunning and the action is absolutely breathtaking, especially the Speeder bike chase on the moon of Endor. The final third of the movie is just phenomenal (aside from Ewoks defeating the mighty Empire). Luke confronting the emperor and finally converting his father to the light side of the Force is so emotionally powerful. And every time I see Obi-wan, Anakin and Yoda appear as force ghosts at the end, I get goosebumps all over my body.
All in all, ROTJ is clearly not flawless, but a good and worthy ending to the original trilogy.… Expand

Return of the Jedi even though its not as good as the first two it still is one of my favorite movies of all time and it is an amazing conclusion to the original trilogy. This one adds the fantastically adorable ewoks and the end of the reign of Darth Vader. The visuals effects are gorgeous just as they were in the other two. The animatronics and puppets continue to be fantastic especially Yoda and R2-D2. The acting especially from Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams was stupendous. Frank Oz's voice over performance was great. And yet, Return of the Jedi has some of the best scenes of the first trilogy in it, too. To me, all scene’s between the Emperor, Vader and Luke in the throne room are fantastically done; the emperor himself became a legendary villain in this movie. And the dogfight in space between the rebels and empire still looks awesome today and it was done the old fashion way, with hand built models and explosions, not CGI. A holy-trilogy classic.… Expand

The plot is really where Return of the Jedi shines brightest, and once again it does so due to its well-written characters. The original trilogy is ultimately a story of the nature of the true face of good and evil. This theme is explored in a fresh way that defies expectations: Luke comes to realize that villains often don't just become bad people because it was their intention all along to become despicable and power-hungry. Rather, evil disguises itself as an unfortunate means to a righteous end, and anybody--including people with the best intentions--can be seduced by "the dark side." Conversely, those who have gone down dark paths are not always lost. Human nature is fluid, and every character in Return of the Jedi undergoes uncomfortable change in a compelling, relatable way.

But despite this, as well as solid performances and a mostly well-written script, this third installment cannot overcome some fundamental flaws that hold it back from delivering a hard-hitting message.

The first two Star Wars films succeeded in their storytelling because they depicted a strong sense of urgency: tension was constant. There was a certain feeling of darkness that filled the atmosphere whenever the Empire reared it’s ugly head and there were constant reminders throughout the story that danger never subsided.

Here, the action is far too often treated as slapstick humour and that tension slackens too often to allow the deep moral themes to bear significant weight. Adding to this plague of excessive lightheartedness is dialogue that—while is quick and intelligent most of the time—at times is cheesy to the point of being distracting. Humor can be effective in a film like this, and it has been in the previous instalments. But it only works when it doesn’t slow down the pace of the story. In Return of the Jedi, the humour absolutely does just that.

The visual effects are just as mixed as the rest of the production: the physical set pieces have improved even more in Episode VI but there is also a greater reliance on CGI, and with its poor quality it just doesn’t fit with the far more realistic physical models and sets.

Return of the Jedi is a somewhat messy but sufficiently satisfying conclusion to the classic trilogy. It ties up all the character arcs with perfection but sadly doesn’t have anything else memorable to offer diehard fans or casual filmgoers.

Star Wars' third movie closes the trilogy with a few bits of disappointment, but nevertheless, it is still a masterpiece. It's still packed with lovable characters, memorable action scenes, and wonderful visuals and music. Some few things could have been made better though. Bobba Fett's death is too soon and humiliating. Darth Vader's real face could have been made more interesting. The Emperor's defeat is somewhat too easy and not climatic enough. Furthermore, the Ewoks are too silly to be taken seriously. At least they should've been given guns/blasters instead of those unbelievable primitive weapons. The ending scene should've taken place in somewhere more glorifying, given that they just saved the galaxy from Galactic Empire.

But overall, it's a great movie to end the epic trilogy.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is honestly my favourite Star Wars movie. Yes I am aware it's a little clunky but the stuff that's good is SO DAMN GOOD!

This is Luke's finest hour, his final battle with not only his father but with himself. Darth Vader seems more sypathetic despite the fact that he is still intimidating beyond belief. All the characters are great, including the side characters and you have minor supporting characters who somehow steal the show. Admiral Ackbar anyone?

Now I do understand where others come from about the ewoks, the occasional drag in terms of pacing... But take that out and you have movie that is WAY too psychology dark even for Star Wars. Strange as this may sound, you needed those murderous teddy bears. And though it's a little immature, it's still a strong message of technology vs nature.

Han, Leia and Chewbacca are as wonderful as you'd expect them to be and Lando is just the coolest here. The best character though I think is the Emperor. By God he is just terrifying! He's old and frail but he has such presence, a deep crackling voice and he looks like something that came out of the exorcist! Granted he could be a little goofy at times but somehow, Ian McDiarmid made it work to his advantage.

Jabba the Hutt and his cronies were an interesting side story. Granted it drag but it was never boring once and he's a cool character. He's a giant gangster slug for God sake! That is just a perfect concept for sci fi!

My main issue though is Boba Fett just being thrown off in the Sarlaac Pit without a proper send off in some way, even though in the original EU he survives, it still weak.

Other than that, the weak stuff is tolerable and rare, and the good stuff is not only has some of the best moments in Star Wars, not just some of the greatest moments in Sci Fi but some of the greatest moments in all of cinema.

I will say this though, it's only this good if you watch it after Empire and New Hope. If you watch this movie first, it'll be okay, maybe good but it won't be amazing. Watch this last, definitely and enjoy.… Expand

A masterful conclusion to the story-arc of the main characters, with Luke rejecting the Dark side despite the best efforts of the Emperor, thereby gaining the Wisdom to become a Jedi. This is a standard, necessary plot device: there must be something at risk for you to care about the peril in which the main characters find themselves. I never really thought about Ewoks being silly, that is until I started reading all the "hip" reviews years later online that put them down.
The action in this film is tight, the script and editing is tight. Ewoks are one thing that some might not be thrilled about, but what about the rest? Yoda's extremely moving death, Ben's revelations, Luke's scene with Leia as she discovers that she and Luke are the offspring of a sadistic murderer, every single scene with the Emperor, Luke's surrender to hatred and subsequent moment of clarity and refusal to follow the dark path, Vader's redemption. These are some of the most pivotal and emotional events in the entire trilogy, and I feel Jedi earns it's place in the upper echelon of the Star wars universe, especially in light of the abominations that were shovelled our way post 1983.… Expand

O filme me soou corrido demais, como se ele tivesse que acabar de qualquer jeito. Não vemos a progressão de nada. Apenas é posto em tela e é esperado que acreditemos.

Quanto ao desenvolvimento, chegamos a nos questionar sobre determinados elementos do universo, que não tem minimas respostas até então - nem no "subcontexto". Como eu disse, o foco do filme é um publico que não costume ligar pra isso, mas aumentar o numero de filmes dessa aventura em especifico e diversificar seria a melhor opção na minha cabeça. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As long as you skip the annoying Ewok parts, this is pound for pound one of the best films ever. So emotional, despite it being a film set in a futuristic intergalactic world the movie relates so much not just to me but to the average movie goer, the film brings the common bonds between Fathers and Sons, Brothers and Sisters in a way that makes me connect to it so much.

I love the sexual tension between Luke and Leia in this movie, you can tell from the great acting that Luke had a hard time resisting the urge to bang his sexy sister during the scene where he reveals she's his sister to her. The kiss the two had in ESB made that sexual tension higher and made it obvious the two were sexually attracted to one another. I love how Palpatine looked a bit like a woman in this film as well so I'm pleased the film promotes transgender people. But the Ewoks were so creepy and gave me nightmares when I was a kid as they're so ugly. They are also boring as hell as they can't speak, they don't even have subtitles for whatever they might be saying. Watching Ewoks is like watching a pet crab sit still, it's lame.… Expand

I didn’t go into Return of the Jedi with high expectations. Aside from throwing away a great antagonist and recycling ideas, the movie wasn’t the garbage fire that I was expecting.
