This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Qué ganas tenía de ver esta película. No voy a decir que es una obra maestra, ni que es la peor película de Disney, porque no es cierto. Pero frente a todas las barbaridades que escuche sobre este “clásico de Disney” tengo que decir que me voy con una sensación agradable. Ojo es una película con muchísimos defectos y elementos criticables, pero no por esto deja de ser buena e interesante.
Tengo entendido que esta película no está ni siquiera en el catálogo de Disney +, esto debido a su contenido racista. Todo esto pasa en la época de la guerra de secesión, lo que si es muy criticable, es la forma en que retratan la vida de los esclavos de esa época. Te romantizan la esclavitud, te muestra a los mismos esclavos felices de estar trabajando y de ciertos aspectos de la vida que llevan, que no es verdad.
No eran felices trabajando en una plantación y mucho menos les gustaba el trato que recibían por su trabajo. De hecho, había en múltiples ocasiones problemas con estos porque se escapaban(en casos muy extremos incluso los mataban).
Si alguien está interesado en el tema de la esclavitud, puede leer el libro de" la cabaña del tío Tom”, que muestra un poco de la forma en la que vivían los esclavos.
La película sigue la vida de un niño que tiene distintos tipos de problemas y que por medio de su relación con el Tío Remmus, el cual es un esclavo que le cuenta historias, logra superarlos. La película intercala partes de acción real con dibujos animados, en los cuales los segmentos animados son los utilizados para narrar las historias relatadas por el Tío Remmus.
Otra de las cosas que tampoco me cerró de la película, es la familia del protagonista. Como que eran personajes básicos. No hacen grandes aportes a la historia y lo poco que aparecían me pareció poco interesante… Expand

No. Just...no. Great theme song. Very catchy tune, even The Jackson 5 covered it. I just have a problem with movies especially from that era that depicts one group of people as subordinates to another. Humanity, we are better than this!!
